Three American citizen Shane Bauer, 27, Sarah Shourd, 31, and Josh Fattal, 27, were hiking in Kurdistan region of Iraq. They climbed the mountain by Ahmed-Awa resort, close to the city of Halabjah Kurdistan Iraq to see the source of the water on the border of Iraq/Iran.
They were arrested by Iranian border guard on Aug, 2 2009 and could be double crossed by the Kurdish intelligent services. The Barzani and Talabani intelligent services are cooperating with Iran and USA intelligence services at the same time. If the Americans are working for intelligent services of the USA and they were given by the Kurdish intelligence services any documents then it is possible Iran have copy of that paper work.
The relationship of Barzani and Talabani intelligence services with Iran is real, plus many of the Kurdish intelligent officers are working for Iranian Government secretly too. Talabani personally has intelligence connections to the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Iranian intelligence services.
The US government should negotiate for the release of those three American. Barzani and Talabani is not trust worthy for the US government to depend on them. They are putting up Kurds, their own people for sale why anyone should trust them with secret.
The family of those who got arrested should contact Qubad Talabani in Washington D.C. immediately. He is son of Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and representative of Barzani/Talabani Government in Kurdistan region of Iraq. Qubad Talabani has very good connection with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad through his father. The families of those who are under arrest in Iran can ask Qubad Talabani for the release of their loved ones.
Iran minister of intelligence services, Heidar Moslehi is not announcing anything like that without reliable document. That reliable documents could be passed by Kurdish intelligent services if it is true and Kurds know about their activities or suspected them to be spy.

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran said on Friday it had proof that three Americans detained since July on espionage charges had links to intelligence services.
Shane Bauer, 27, Sarah Shourd, 31, and Josh Fattal, 27, were detained after they entered Iran from northern Iraq, further complicating relations between Tehran and Washington that are deadlocked over Iran's nuclear program
Sampler: Hikers Called Spies, the Grateful Dead Archivist and Ronald Reagan Day By FELICITY BARRINGERIran Orchestrates New Attack on Berkeley Hikers | In a brief statement read on state television, Iran's intelligence minister charged that three students from the University of California, Berkeley, who were arrested while hiking in the mountains near the Iran-Iraq border, had ties to American intelligence services. The intelligence minister, Heidar Moslehi, made the charges on Iran's English-language satellite channel. Coming as international tension over Iran's nuclear program has increased, the remarks seemed to reflect a hardening of the Iranian government's tone in the case of the hikers -- Sarah Shourd, 31, and Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal, both 27. In November, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran pointed out that the United States was holding several Iranian citizens, raising the possibility that he sought a prisoner swap. "Clearly, these unlucky hikers have been caught up in international politics," said Mark Juergensmeyer, director of the global and international studies department at the University of California, Santa Barbara. "The message is loud and clear: It screams for a prisoners' exchange and shows that they are being kept as hostages to be used as negotiating pawns." [The San Francisco Chronicle, The Oakland Tribune]
