Everything was clean as sky, hundreds
years ago. Denise turned back to village leave off Paul. She is in road with
bicycle, she cycling between fields. She drinks coffee in a small shop. She
asks friend who she was corresponding while she was in city. He is behind the
train gar, waiter girl says. He takes photo from a football match. Denise looks
at where waiter shows and we see while Dennis is cycling to area of match.
Paul leaves room which operate woman who
his neighbor sings song. Her voice is heard even in entrance of residence. Paul
leaves the residence and goes to car. Vale begs him, vale loves Paul, he loves
Paul's body and he offers himself body to Paul. Paul escapes.
Jean Luc Godard makes "Everyman for
himself' in 1980, after political movie experiments. This is fourth movie of
Godard I have watched.
The movie is a critic on industrial
society what was established wildly after 1929, world wars and 1968 youth
demonstrations and industrial cinema what turns back to strainer telling.
Someone just cares about themselves
economic benefits. Someone cares about just themselves personal happiness and
someone cares about to alive with women they love in.
Wagons just carry the vessels. Only
bankers are independent. Teacher, singer, student or fallen women are not
independent, they are not free. Street gangs catch fallen woman Isabelle and
they say only bankers were free, only they were independent. "But we are not
bankers. So, Isabelle, we don't want your all money we just want half of" they
said.
And Isabelle wants her sister's half money
who will work as fallen woman.
Women lose their bodies and prides, men
lose their identity for easy sex. Men become gay (According to Godard), ensest
relations, child pornography, prostitution and crimes increase day by day.
People accuse blackbirds what joined to city life of people 2 century ago.
The movie begins with a long sky sequence. We see green fields, forests and lakes in beginning. Movie darkens every moment during time. Tension increases. Pornography increases. Violence increases. Paul can't be stay alive with some women; his ex-wife, ex-girlfriend (Denise) and ex-fallen woman (Isabelle). And movie finishes while Paul's ex-wife and his little daughter walking to darkness.
