Crossing the Line: When is Enough, Enough?

While viewing the documentary "Crossing the Line", I noticed that each of the American defectors to North Korea had literally lost everything. They were from foster family type homes. They had lost their wives or lovers, and they were having trouble in the military. They had nothing left. When you think about it, they would have lived their lives in jail in America. Which is better jail in America or having a somewhat normal life in North Korea?

America makes no bones about being a pro-corporate, pro-billionaire country. Everything in this country is designed to benefit corporations. Why did the US hate commies so much to begin with? The commies kicked out US corporations. To harm US corporations is worse than killing off masses of regular Americans. For example, the US government hid the fact that pesticides produced by a big corporation (not even an American one at that) were killing off American bees and endangering American crops. When it comes between big money and the common man, the government stands for big money. When Americans were losing their homes to foreclosure, the government preferred to bail out big banks rather than the common people. Rather than try to reduce pollution and use other types of fuel, they prefer to derail global warming talks because big business wants to keep making money whether it destroys the whole world or not. War? In this country war is almost always about helping out American corporations especially securing oil resources. Why not get another form of fuel? That would cause the oil companies to lose money. We can't do that. They own our politicians.

But when is enough, enough. At what point will these big bullies push too far. At what point do Americans say that the corporate rule has crossed the line. Right now Americans are losing their jobs to outsourcing. The culprit? Greedy corporate culture. They are losing their homes. The reason? Big greedy Wall Street banks. They have no health care. The reason? Big Insurance companies. Americans can't go to college and guarantee a job to pay back the loans for college. Why? The loans are from big banks and the corporations are hiring cheap foreigners to do the work they trained for. Illegal immigrants run over the border and take construction jobs. Why? Construction companies can hire cheap labor. No job. No home. No hope for the future. Kids can't go to college and study and guarantee a future.

How much is too much for billionaires? When have they taken too much from the average American. When will the billionaires be satisfied with what they have? A person who wants to have that much money is partially a criminal or mentally ill. In our society though the greedy are seen as morally superior to those they prey upon. Somehow their ability to amass wealth ruthlessly is seen as a type of strength; rather than a mental illness. Sharing is barbaric. That's what the natives did. They did not build technology to destroy others and take their resources. The wealthy prefer theft of all the resources to even sharing a bit. They prefer destroying the environment of the whole planet to sharing even a portion of wealth. Business becomes little more than open fraud on a day to day basis.

Will Americans get sick of being robbed or will they continue to be stupefied by infotainment news and distracted by pornography, video games, or souped up patriotism. Will the Billionaire class create another enemy we can all focus on while they rob and plunder what's left of this country? How much can they take before they've taken too much?

At what point do the communists, socialists, libertarians, and anarchists rise up against the billionaire class? At what point do Americans take that step to leave all the B.S. behind and cross the line?

I enjoy writing about political/ economic events, and I am especially concerned about the US as a warlike nation. I would like to see this nation turn itself around from a conquering nation in both commerce and war to a nation of peace. I hope that (more...)
