According to an article in the San Francisco Chronicle, the House Intelligence Committee has finally concluded that there was no -- repeat NO -- deliberate wrongdoing by the Obama Administration at any time regarding the Benghazi attack.
The panel voted Thursday to declassify the report, the result of two years of investigation by the committee. U.S. intelligence agencies will have to approve making the report public.
(Rep. Mike Thompson - D, WA) said the report "confirms that no one was deliberately misled, no military assets were withheld and no stand-down order (to U.S. forces) was given."
Which means that, after two years of pounding the bench demanding answers, accountability, and the President's head on a plate over the tragic attack at that US Consulate, the legion of drooling conservative activists now have nothing to go on.
As of this writing, Rep. Darrell Issa -- official pointman and provocateur for the at-times embarrassing investigation -- has made no comment on watching this particular ship sail over the horizon. Almost appropriately, his latest twitter message congratulated the US Coast Guard on its birthday. But it's a reasonable certainty that, when Congress gets back from vacation, he'll have found some new, invented scandal to shamelessly investigate the hell out of.
