Militarizing South Korea | Global Research

Not long ago, North and South Korea enjoyed a period of dà ©tente that both believed might ultimately lead to the peninsula's reunification. Under the Bush and Obama administrations, particularly Obama's, South Korea increasingly became entangled in the U.S. missile defense system and the U.S. plan for world hegemony, leading to an end to the North/South dà ©tente and the beginning of increasing tensions between the two countries. The result of U.S. involvement led to South Korea's possession and permission to use much more powerful weapons and missiles than it previously could legally own and fire.
