Info trickling in from news reports and tweets in the past few days is that rebel forces have probed, encircled and attacked Gaddafi forces holding Brega, clearing hundreds of landmines as they advance. Heavy street-fighting is now being reported. One recent tweet states: Libya: Freedom fighters from the south & from Kufra are now in control of a vast region known as Qatrun - near border with Chad/Niger, but this cannot be independently confirmed.
