People have thought that Louisiana is not in serious danger with Hurricane Ike bearing down on Texas. Think again. I am told Houma is in serious danger of flooding.
I received this email:
The Levee’s are beginning to breach in Houma, LA. The tide is higher at this point then it was for Hurricane Rita and when the wind blows from the south more water will follow. 100,000 people in Terrebonne Parish could flood.
There is only the local channel H-TV in Houma that is covering the situation in real time: http://www.mogulus.com/HTVHouma
The destruction of the southern Louisiana wetlands is making this possible.
