Dr. Marbles' diary made me curious. I think I need to face something. Perhaps, many of us do.

     Killing someone. Is it Justified? The question is an abyss. Having found Dr. Marbles’ diary made me curious. http://www.opednews.com/maxwrite/diarypage.php?did=8377 

     Reading it made me wonder. Then I realized this is a way biggie for me, so I started to toss this down as a comment but it turned into a diary. I think I need to face something. Perhaps, many of us do. Killing someone. The ultimate abyss.         

     I have a problem with this because I am very uncomfortable with the taking of any life, but I am willing to come in here to help find out why. Discussion, discourse and sincere attempt to understand are healthy and painful. This topic is to me revolting; nevertheless, because I am put together as I am, I must try to.    

     Assassination is killing. Killing in all forms is final. As much as I detest our history in that regard, I cannot see the difference even if we're talking Hitler. I understand the argument, but I do not see the difference. I may be out of line here, but I do not see the difference between the assassination of a president or a soldier in wartime notching one for the good guys or waiting outside of the house where the guy who is seeing your wife lives. In the heat of the moment is a good one we use to excuse. War too. Justified? All killing is premeditated and done in collusion even when it is only you. We can argue that insanity and brainwashing are asterisks, but you can also argue that those are personal denials. I would argue that asterisks are but another way we play games with each other labeling as a victim or due to extenuating circumstances. Killing another is a way to avoid learning anything except that we learn nothing. Lessons are always repeated until learned. Removing by force another’s choice is a vicious circle argument. When death of another is the goal, where is the victory? For whom?          

     Damn, this is so uncomfortable. I apologize. I simply do not understand how it can be justified except that maybe if you (we, I) ever experience taking another’s life by choice then we perhaps do have something to base it on. I sadly was in on an early life decision (abortion) to end before it began the potential life of my son or daughter, who I took the choice from with my and my partner’s decision. From that I personally learned I had crossed the biggest line of my life. I found in me that there is nothing as sad and inhuman as to believe and act so callously that another’s life switch is flicked off. For what? Because I was too young? Too poor? Too ill equipped? WTF? I was full of it. Here's my ton of bricks.     

     We have to talk and discuss this stuff. Burying is nowhere Ville. But damn it, this is so insane to me, this concept that something such as killing (in the form of assassination of a leader as posed in Dr. Marble's diary) someone else can be a question of justification.      

     Again I ask.      

     In defense of losing ones own life, it is generally accepted that killing another is understood. I said understood, not right. Was my life threatened by my unborn child? No! How the hell did I process that one? Don't we see how ridiculous this argument is? In war, both sides agree to the madness. Don't give me that BS about following orders. Killing is killing. Volunteer and drafted notch makers pay later, or does everybody not notice how many of those who have participated are carrying the corpses they created by their choices. How can we claim to have free choice and then be victims of it? Doesn't that seem at the very least self indulgent if not totally whacked?     

     It is an endless circle that goes nowhere. Justified? I am lost in the argument. I think we are as a whole way short of a full deck on this one. All of us.

     It is just my opinion, but it sure seems clear to me that we've got quite a ways to go before we get to wherever we are going.    

      I have a lot of work to do on this one. Thank god I am not alone.
