Mrs. M and her seven children traveled to the United States in 2005 under Special Public Benefit Parole — a rare status reserved only for those who have made great contributions to the government of the United States. She was a recent widow at the time, after her husband was shot to death by insurgents who discovered he was helping the Americans and coalition forces.
