The world is a tough place full of human misery, squalor, hatred and genocide. Our region does not need to import slavery, pestilence , ideology or religious strife. We don't need democracy, the IMF or the WTO.
After 60 years we've gone through all the truces, cease fires, negotiations, agreements and broken promises we will ever need. Somewhere, all the pages are stored. If we need to consult with them, we have a wonderful set of translators and a xerox machine.
The diplomats and the emissaries are not required. The Arab World, Europe and the United States should not visit. Only Aljazeera should attend the media function.
While the hostilities continue, both sides should arrange a list of basic demands. These should be serious, because the citizens of both countries must vote on both sets up or down.
Politicians and officials should have no part in this. Both nations will appoint the impartial referees for the other country. If the voters fail to approve any part of either list, they can return to killing one another.
