Linda Milazzo

Linda Milazzo is a Los Angeles based writer, educator and activist. Since 1974, she has divided her time between the entertainment industry, government organizations & community development projects and educational programs. Linda began her writing career over 30 years ago, starting out in advertising and promotions. From 1976 to 1989, she operated an independent public relations service providing specialty writing for individual and corporate clients. For the past six years, Linda has focused on political writing. Her essays, letters and commentaries have appeared in domestic and international journals, newspapers, magazines and on dozens of respected news and opinion websites. She's an educator and creator of a writers' program she's taught privately and in public schools. She currently facilitates an advocacy writing workshop and is developing an advocacy writing program to be implemented in public and private educational institutions and in community based organizations. A political and social activist since the Vietnam War, Linda attributes her revitalized-fully-engaged-intense-head-on-non-stop-political activism to the UNFORTUNATE EXISTENCE OF GEORGE W. BUSH and her disgust with greed-ridden American imperialism, environmental atrocities, egregious war, nuclear proliferation, lying leaders, and global tyranny!

Rare Behind-the-Scenes of CODEPINK Prepping for RNC
Since this Star Tribune video was first recorded, more CODEPINKers have arrived in Minneapolis to work beside Nancy Mancias (CODEPINK RNC Coordinator), Desiree Fairooz (who bravely confronted Condoleeza Rice with faux "blood stained" hands), Malia Burkhart (CODEPINK puppet builder), and other members already on-site.

Pelosi Secures Her "BUT"
(7 comments) I don't mean the double "TT" derriere kind of "BUTT." I mean the single "T" conjunction kind of "BUT." The proviso. The disclaimer. The tiny word that will ever be the prefix to her legacy. The "BUT" like: "BUT" wasn't your grandmother the one who wouldn't impeach George W. Bush?

Momentum Building For Bugliosi's Case Against George W. Bush For Murder
(15 comments) Bugliosi's presentation blew the roof off. He held the audience spellbound as he guided it down the twisted path of Bush's hedonism and criminality. In true prosecutorial style, this master of law made his audience believe that Bush was guilty of murder.

A Call to Heroes: My "Sit-Down" with Vincent Bugliosi
(21 comments) The heroes in Vince's case are those who would prosecute George W. Bush for murder in an American court of law. Vince is certain that amongst this vast population of prosecutors, there is at least one patriot who loves this nation deeply enough to hold Bush accountable for the murders of over 4,000 service men and women whom he lied into going to war.

Russert's Hypocrisy: McClellan on Meet the Press
(10 comments) In Dick Cheney's March 16, 2003 appearance on Meet The Press, Cheney filibustered your every question and pushed his agenda for war. You asked all the EXPECTED questions from which Cheney made his case. Eighty hours later, Bush launched "Shock & Awe."

My Dream Ticket: Barack Obama & Caroline Kennedy!
(19 comments) Finally, there's THE DREAM. MY dream. I've waited my entire life for a black President and for a woman President. I've also dreamed that the Kennedy legacy would be fulfilled. Most believed that destiny of high service and high office was in the hands of JFK, II. - but we lost him much too soon. Perhaps that destiny is Caroline's to fulfill. Would she accept the Vice Presidential call?

The Case For Mental Health Screening Of Candidates And Electeds
(7 comments) In "Bush On The Couch," Dr. Frank concludes that George W. Bush exhibits signs of megalomania, sadism, and an inability to show real compassion. From my own lay perspective, Dr. Frank is entirely right. Whether or not these traits would have appeared in a pre-screening, I have no idea, but it would have been well worth the time.

Will An Adult Finally Prevail?!
(3 comments) The fact is, despite McCain's heroic military service during the Vietnam war, the quality of his character over the forty years since warrants scrutiny of the most critical kind. McCain's life of power and privilege so closely resembles that of George W. Bush that the prospect of a John McCain presidency is cataclysmic.

The Convenient "Suicide" Of The DC Madam
(65 comments) I, for one, am hopeful the public - particularly the blogger community - will hold the authorities accountable for a thorough, open and honest investigation of this bizarre and tragic occurrence. In this highly political year, egregious acts are possible - if not probable - particularly when the identities and fortunes of the rich and powerful are at stake.

Pelosi HEARTS Bush!
(14 comments) Thank you, Larry King. When you bring it, YOU BRING IT! And last night, YOU BROUGHT IT!! Thanks to the few simple questions you asked Speaker Pelosi, viewers got a clearer insight into who Speaker Pelosi is and how Speaker Pelosi feels - about President Bush, about her self-described "day job," and about her Congressional opponent, Cindy Sheehan.

O' When CODEPINK Came Marchin' In (To New Orleans On Eve's V-Day)
For my entire life - years before Hurricane Katrina - I fantasized about New Orleans. I dreamed of being decadent in the French Quarter in clubs where my music heroes played. I dreamed of tasting the food, studying the architecture, hearing the accents, and being cradled in the arms of the city – in the cream, black, brown and white blended arms of the city.

John Kerry Should Just Go Away!!
(7 comments) John Kerry is the arbiter of bad judgement and the bastion of backing down. He's deluded himself into believing that Americans have forgotten his disastrous candidacy and forgiven him for it. This may be the case for some - but for those who value peace, social justice, and the moral standing of America, the mere mention of John Kerry is cause to recoil.

MAXINE & TED - DON'T CALL US IF YOU CALL US TERRORISTS!
(7 comments) A nation that views its own people as enemies creates laws to suppress them. A Congress that ignores the will of its people creates laws to redefine them. Homegrown activists become homegrown terrorists. Per the vague designations in H.R. 1955, activists and terrorists are the same.

TERM LIMITS FOR CONGRESS - LET'S RESTART THE DISCUSSION
(16 comments) There is much to be said for the rotation of leadership in maintaining a democracy. After all, it's term limits that will ultimately save us from George W. Bush. I have eternal gratitude for the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution which limits the President of the United States to a total of two terms.

Hillary Clinton's SMUG MUG & Her Bush-like Disdain For Dissenters
(8 comments) Unfortunately, much of George W. Bush's disdain for dissension can also be seen in Hillary Clinton. It's becoming increasingly ominous to witness Clinton's Bush-like intolerance toward citizens who voice their displeasure - which might explain the recent revelations of how her handlers manipulate her audience

THE COURAGE OF KUCINICH IN PELOSI'S HOUSE OF WACKS
(1 comments) Pelosi's failure to form the necessary coalitions to pursue Bush and Cheney for their crimes against America is as damaging as George Bush's failure to form the necessary coalitions to pursue Bin Laden and al-Zawahiri for theirs. As Bin Laden and al-Zawahiri plot further assaults from without against America, Bush and Cheney plot further assaults from within.

American Mob: Bush's Guns, Goons and GHOULiani In The Wings
(2 comments) To put it mildly, Rudolph Giuliani is Michael Corleone in Fredo's body. He's suited for the Baddabing - not for the West Wing. With a Giuliani presidency, the heavy hand of America would bash in the heads of the world.

The Cafferty FOOL Wrongly Assails John Edwards
(2 comments) Every afternoon in CNN's "Situation Room," anchored by milquetoast non-talent Wolf Blitzer, Blitzer shares a few short exchanges with self-styled curmudgeon, Jack Cafferty. Cafferty, disguised as a wisecracking '50s-'60s style newsman, plays the vexed moralistic foil to Blitzer's dispassionate bore. It's Cafferty's loose-cannon "Lucy" meets Blitzer's timid "Ethel Mertz." Those silly girls are at it yet again!

CORPORATE MEDIA TURNED OUT FOR JENA, BUT NOT FOR ANTI-WAR. HERE'S WHY:
(1 comments) It was great to SEE Jena's streets filled to capacity for civil rights. And great to SEE the media convergence to report it. Unfortunately, the reporting was more for "photo-ops" than to advance the marchers' cause. This was corporate media's opportunity to transmit exportable democracy to every corner of the globe.

LOBBYING ELECTEDS IN CONSTITUTIONAL INTERVENTIONS
(2 comments) During previous American presidencies, less calamitous than that of George W. Bush, the most consistent visitors to local and national legislators were paid corporate lobbyists seeking favors that rarely, if ever, served the common good. Greedy K-Street 'Abramoffs' exploited American capitalism and sacrificed the many to benefit the few.

The Los Angeles National Impeachment Center: IT'S THE PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION!
(2 comments) Gratefully for our Constitution, and for our nation, the City of Los Angeles now has the democratic antidote to Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. Los Angeles has the first in the nation National Impeachment Center (LANIC), a thriving, burgeoning hub of patriotism to fill the Founding Fathers with pride.

SAVE TROY DAVIS, HIS JURORS, & HIS ACCUSERS, TOO
(6 comments) One witness, Tonya Johnson who lied in her testimony to the police has said, "'If Troy Anthony Davis is executed Tuesday, [I] will be in mourning. It will be hard to live with myself after what I [have] done.' Hard because Johnson believes Davis is an innocent man. Harder still because she says she did not tell the whole truth to police when they questioned her about the events that took place on a summer night in 1989.

NOBODY MARCHED TO IMPEACH BILL CLINTON!
(64 comments) Angry citizens DIDN'T fill the streets, carry signs and beg a non-responsive Congress to do its Constitutional duty and remove Bill Clinton from his job. Panels WEREN'T held across the nation, moderated by Constitutional scholars who loved their country so much that they traversed its full span to inform packed audiences of the high crimes Bill Clinton had done. Nope. Never happened.

Danny Schechter's "A WORK IN PROGRESS: PUTTING THE ME IN MEDIA"
This past January, at the third National Media Reform Conference in Memphis, Tennessee, I saw Danny, just as I had at the previous two. He approached me and said, "Linda, I have a new film. I want you to come to the screening." So I did. I sat in a room with around 150 media reformers while Danny introduced the film.

Democrats, Stop Coddling The Children! STOP BEING SO DAMN FREAKING WEAK!!
(2 comments) When Democrats took the majorities of the Senate and the House in November of 2006, your goal was to show America just how freaking nice you were and to change the tone in Washington from bellicose to genteel. . What you failed to realize is that America doesn't need you to be nice. America needs you to be strong. You've succeeded at being nice. But you've failed at being strong!

NEW MEDIA Should Not Assist The Resurrection Of Bill Frist Before Or After SICKO
NEW MEDIA mustn't permit Frist to use his position with ONE VOTE '08 to resurrect his public image. NEW MEDIA should be aware that Frist's attempted resurrection is timed conspicuously just prior to the June 29th release of Michael Moore's latest movie, SICKO, which spotlights the sorry state of America's healthcare system.

AN INCONVENIENT MIGHTY WIND: Al Gore's Description of His Conversation With Harry Shearer
(6 comments) On Tuesday night, attendees at the Wilshire Theater in Beverly Hills witnessed an invigorating match of wit and wisdom, as Al Gore sat down with Harry Shearer to discuss Gore's latest book, "The Assault On Reason." Believe me, sitting down with Harry Shearer is no easy task, for there is no such thing as a banal discussion with Harry.

CONFLATED TRAGEDIES: BLUFFTON U., DUKE U. and IRAQ, TOO
(1 comments) It's tragic how little attention media gives to our casualties of war. They continue to be ONLY NUMBERS. Over recent months, incidents involving American college students received ongoing media scrutiny, incongruent with that afforded the young people who have perished in "our" war.

Open Letter To Katie Couric: You Were Unfair To The Edwards
(13 comments) Throughout YOUR preoccupation with Elizabeth's potential to die, you overruled her desire to live. YOU screwed up, Katie. You owe her an apology. For Elizabeth, life isn't about losing. It's about winning, and remaining vital. Yet, regardless of the hope Elizabeth foresaw, you foretold disaster.

The King, The Jester, And The Fool
They are three individuals inextricably linked to the Israel/Palestine travesty, but in uniquely different ways. The King wants a peaceful resolution. DeLay wants Raptured Revolution. Ros-Lehtinen wants persecution. I'm with the King.

SENATOR GRAHAM, A DOUBLE STANDARD, A NOBLE STANDARD, OR NO STANDARDS AT ALL?
(4 comments) If it's noble to hand power and position to others to better them and to better the system, then why don't you do the same? If selflessness is expected of these former U.S. Attorneys, then why shouldn't it be expected of you? You obviously believe in term limits. So why don't you term limit YOU??

MY QUESTIONS FOR OUR CANDIDATES: FIRST OF ALL, DO YOU CARE?
(12 comments) I was compelled to ask Mr. Edwards a couple questions, which time constraints on the Senator's schedule prevented me from doing. The more savvy folks dashed to the mike ahead of me and asked relevant questions on healthcare, voting machines, Iran, poverty, and campaign finance reform. The questions I wanted to ask were totally different.

A WOMAN IN THE WHITE HOUSE
(11 comments) Today, according to political watchers and pundits, money-men and mainstream media, the United States has its first formidable female contender for the Presidency of the United States. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton! As a politically active woman who desires equality in office, Mrs. Clinton's candidacy should rally my support. But sadly, it does not!

An Inconvenient Responsibility: Doing All You Can To End The War
(9 comments) In this world, more specifically in this nation, where convenience is highly prized, inconvenience is the enemy. It's a sign of failure. The cornerstone of this capitalist society is the acquisition of enough wealth and power to hand all inconvenience over to someone else. The gardener. The housekeeper. The nanny. Perhaps the driver. Maybe the chef. ... By virtue of inaction we support George W. Bush.

ANN RICHARDS AND MOLLY IVINS AIN'T DONE WITH US YET!!
In their deaths, as in their lives, Ann Richards and Molly Ivins continue to inform us. They bring us the message that if those so mighty can be struck down, the rest of us had better take heed. We must recognize the signs of illness. Do our best to protect ourselves. And work to ensure that ALL people have the healthcare to defend against disease.

LIEBERMAN AND MCCAIN'S DESIRED ESCALATION COULD RESULT IN THE NEXT WORLD WAR
(7 comments) Bullying threats of overwhelming force, coupled with the refusal to negotiate with one's enemies is the coward's way out. These are insufficient methods to ward off potential genocide. It's much more humane to speak with one's enemies than to attempt to destroy them all.

CRUSHED BY THE WEIGHT OF THE FLAGS
(10 comments) At the interment site for President Ford, the American flag that draped over his casket was handed to Vice President Cheney. At that moment I imagined not one, but over 3,000 memorial flags being handed to Dick Cheney all at the very same time. A shower of American flags to honor all who had fallen. A surge of American flags for those who had died in His war.

"DEATH COMES IN THREES, PLUS THREE THOUSAND"
(2 comments) I heard it in my Italian family, and in my Jewish family growing up in New York. And I've heard it in Los Angeles, or Hollywood as some would say, over the years that I've lived here. "Death comes in threes." "Watch," they'd say. "As soon as one famous person dies, two more will follow." I must admit I've seen this "death comes in threes" often enough that it's really quite freaky... even scary.

TO THE IRAQI EXPATRIATE CELEBRANTS IN DEARBORN, MICHIGAN
(11 comments) If you truly believe, as you have stated to American media, that Saddam's hanging justifies the deaths of 650,000 innocent Iraqis under the regime of George W. Bush, you are neither lovers of Iraq nor lovers of Iraqis.

THE DISAPPEARANCE OF GEORGE P. BUSH
(10 comments) It was the year 2000. The new millennium. It featured a rising new star from a prominent American family. His name was George. George P. Remember George P.? The incessantly publicized and promoted son of Florida's Governor Bush? The most dominant face of George W. Bush's 2000 Presidential campaign?

KENNEDYS, BUSHES and OIL: Public Interest vs. Self Interest
(8 comments) The history of the United States is filled with prominent families who achieved wealth, power and influence through legitimate and/or nefarious means. But in the two hundred thirty year history of this nation, no two families have ascended to the apex of American politics like the Bushes and Kennedys of today.

CAN JIMMY CARTER DO FOR PALESTINE WHAT JACK MURTHA DID FOR IRAQ?
(7 comments) It took Pennsylvania Representative Jack Murtha to speak out against America's occupation of Iraq before others had the courage to oppose it. Perhaps Jimmy Carter can have a similar effect on Israel's occupation of Palestine.

"Americans Can't Handle Another Impeachment" Is Republican Propaganda. Don't Be Deceived.
(26 comments) The truth is Americans CAN handle another impeachment. They CAN handle the truth. In fact, if Americans don't bring Bush and Cheney to justice after the atrocities they've committed, this nation will never reclaim its moral authority. And the people of this nation will be despised for unleashing these dangerous men on the world.

COMIC RELIEF, CELEBRITY and REMEMBERING LITTLE HARRY
Like previous Comic Relief shows, this show played pretty "blue." No lack of four-letter words or sexual hijinks, which some might consider profanity. Hence, conservatives and religious groups may demonize the effort. But before attacking the show, the holier-than-thou crowd might consider the following: Profanity doesn't kill. Neglect and abandonment do. And B-U-S-H is a four-letter word. Eat that emeffers!!

IT'S VETERANS' DAY IN AMERICA, WHERE MAX CLELAND AND TAMMY DUCKWORTH DESERVE TO BE IN CONGRESS
It takes the gift of greatness to nearly die for one's country and retain the desire to serve. Yet this nation is fortunate to have a good many veterans who do just that. Some take on the commitment to serve their fellow veterans upon their returns back home. Some enter politics, using their military experience, extraordinary discipline, and cooperative skills as legislative tools.

TELL SENATOR ELECT MCCASKILL NOT TO CONFIRM JOHN BOLTON
I was startled this afternoon, when in a conversation with Chris Matthews on MSNBC's "Hardball," Democratic Senator-elect Claire McCaskill of Missouri, stated that she would consider confirming George W. Bush's contentious and slimy recess appointee, John Bolton, as United States' Ambassador to the United Nations.

CHRIS SHAYS' TOWNHALL MEETING: A LESSON IN CONTEMPT AND CONDESCENSION
(1 comments) One afternoon in the early days of the Iraq war, I happened upon a CSpan broadcast of a town hall meeting hosted by Republican Christopher Shays. Gathered together in a local auditorium were the involved, astutely aware constituents of Connecticut's 4th Congressional District, over which Mr. Shays held domain.

YES, VIRGINIANS, THERE IS A SUPER CAUSE... Elect Jim Webb!!
On November 7th you voters in Virginia have the chance to restore our nation. To show your fellow citizens and the waiting world that Americans refuse to be lied to. That we won't be lead by children. That we're rid of the nepotism that promotes Junior Georges because Senior Georges are known.

On November 7th, "GIVE PEACE A VOTE"
On November 7th, we voters have the opportunity to cast our votes for candidates dedicated to ending the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and restoring humanity to our nation and the world. It is unfathomable to continue the death, destruction and suffering caused by these wars. Surely, the money spent on war would be much better spent on peace... feeding the hungry, promoting literacy, housing the homeless and healing the sick.

FIGHT BACK BILL CLINTON! DON'T STOP THINKING ABOUT TOMORROW!
(6 comments) His charisma is legendary. William Jefferson Clinton. America's boyishly brilliant bad boy President. Not since the days of Kennedy and the era of Camelot had America produced so globally enchanting a man. His Presidency charmed the world. And though his charm eluded half his own nation, beyond its boundaries he engaged the whole world.

DON'T BELIEVE CONSERVATIVES ARE TOO PISSED OFF TO VOTE!
(12 comments) Democrats would be foolhardy to fall for a conservative strategy that plies them with overconfidence for success in November. Especially when the overconfidence is designed to keep Democrats from the polls altogether through the false supposition that the Democratic take back is squarely in the bag.

Congressman Murtha, Impeachment IS An Option
(10 comments) The Constitution doesn't say to avoid impeachment because it's a laborious process. The Constitution doesn't say don't impeach because a committee must look into it. The Constitution says it's Congress' responsibility to conduct proper oversight of the Executive Branch and to take action upon suspicion of an impeachable offense.

"IT TAKES A WOMAN, BUT HILLARY'S NOT THE ONE"
(6 comments) Clinton is a woman. But she isn't THE woman. And she isn't America's female solution to end the centuries old precedent that its leader must be male. Nonetheless, Mrs. Clinton should be appreciated for rousing a spirited debate on the plausibility and efficacy of electing a woman president of the United States. It's a subject and an action whose time has truly come.

Chertoff: Plot Would Have Killed 100's of Thousands. Really? Let's Do The Math
(2 comments) I'm dumbfounded by the catastrophic numbers forecast by British and American officials. Michael Chertoff, United States' Secretary of Homeland Security, said the presumed plot "had the potential to kill hundreds of thousands of people." Really? H-O-W????

DEAR CONNECTICUT: Don't Blow It The Way We Did In California
(6 comments) California, the supposed bastion of progressive politics, let the progressive tide roll right on by and re-elected Bush Democrats to support and maintain the status quo. The world was horrified when America re-installed Bush in 2004, and horrified again on June 6th when Californians nixed real proponents of change to reunite puppets with their faux Democratic seats.

I HAVE NO GOVERNMENT. I'M A DISENFRANCHISED AMERICAN.
(11 comments) My refusal to be morally distorted by George W. Bush can only be accomplished by relinquishing all connection to his governance. As of now, I don't know how to categorize the state of residing in a nation as a full citizen while not governed by its leadership. I didn't vote for this leadership and I'm not willing to remain a voiceless mass falsely portrayed by the Bush imperial regime.

PDA DENOUNCES ISRAEL'S AGGRESSION AND TACTICS OF COLLECTIVE PUNISHMENT
Progressive Democrats of America, the Democratic Party's foremost proponents for social justice and an end to war, has once again taken on Congress by demanding an end to Israel's aggression and human rights violations... the very same violations our unbalanced, biased and politically paranoid Washington "leaders" overwhelmingly and shamefully support.

Sunny or Sunni... You're a Terrorist in Miami Either Way
(3 comments) To every Sunny and Sonny who reside in the United States... Take Heed!! In the land of George W. Bush, Alberto Gonzales and Robert Mueller, Y-O-U are most likely a terrorist. And the moment your misspelling, mispronouncing FBI, CIA and Justice Department hear your name, they could be coming after Y-O-U!!

The Final Stretch: Linda Milazzo's "Conversation With Marcy Winograd"
(1 comments) Based on my in-depth interview with Marcy Winograd, she may be a newcomer candidate, but she’s irrefutably NO newcomer to the machinations of government and the needs of the constituents in California's "District 36".

Thank You HBO For "Baghdad ER"
I vowed that since our brave men and women sacrifice their bodies and their lives, I owed them the respect to be their witness. Both to their personal valor and to the valiant who help them survive.

Polygamy: Loading The Barrels To Ignite the Right
(2 comments) Predators like Warren Jeffs, who sexually abuse children, marry adolescents, discard young men, and devalue women are despicable. The increasing salacious focus on "one man and many wives" imbues the Marriage Amendment with renewed political life. An interestingly timed debut for a practice a hundred fifty years old.

Take Heed Americans: Some Words By Bin Laden Should Not Be Ignored
(5 comments) The Bush administration and American media gave little credence to most of the statements by Osama Bin Laden on his most recent audio-tape, which aired April 23rd on Al-Jazeera. But there is one part of the tape that should not be ignored. In fact, it could rightfully be perceived as the presumptive conclusion of millions, if not billions of people throughout the world.

TELEVISION'S DISMISSAL OF PROGRESSIVES DISTORTS THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY
(3 comments) Mainstream and cable broadcasters routinely provide their viewers with an archaic representation of the Democratic Party that WAS. Not the real Democratic Party that IS in the throes of a major Progressive revolution. This is an egregious public disservice, fueled by the media's laziness and lack of vision.

Open Letter to Senator Barbara Boxer and Congresswoman Barbara Lee
(1 comments) If you're concerned that the 36th District without candidate Harman will fall back to a Republican... as my New York Sicilian family would say, "FUGGEDABOUDIT." It ain't gonna happen!! The 36th District is overwhelmingly Democratic and Winograd reflects its social and political views. She's a powerful, viable, dynamic candidate. But you knew that already or you wouldn't have written your letters!!

A Message to Republicans: Impeaching Bush Will Strengthen America At Home and Throughout the World
(2 comments) Republicans must stop being cowards. They must step up to the honorable plate. Their mission is not to uphold incompetence. Their goal is not to support just one man. Elected officials, Democrats and Republicans alike, are charged with making America an inspiration to enhance a struggling world. This cannot be accomplished under the reign of the globe's most abhorrent irresponsible man.

Self Flagellating Congress Promotes a New Geometric View
Placing Samuel Alito on the Supreme Court will further tilt the balance of power, fortify the Executive branch, and seal the scalene triangle as the government symbol for many decades to come. One wonders how the stern father dynamic will play when a woman President is finally elected. It can't come a moment too soon.

The Likeness of Bush and Ahmadinejad
At a recent press conference, Mr. Ahmadinejad postured and preened like a spoiled, arrogant child; a behavior and attitude disconcertingly familiar. The cockiness. The smugness. The snide self-importance. The way he toyed with his audience, like a king bemused by his jesters. An odd height of importance for such an unspectacular man.

Bush's Ownership Society Suits Jack's Entrepreneurial Style
So who are Bush's real Americans? Ken Lay of Enron, Charles Keating of Lincoln Savings and Loan, Bernie Ebbers of Worldcom and Jack Abramoff of "K" Street. These woeful entrepreneurs fit the Bush American profile just fine. They epitomize the Bush entrepreneur.
