Sunday, January 22, 2012 Hey NBC, Monday's Debate Panelists Need To Better Represent! (1 comments)
What's truly needed in this debate are the images of a diverse blended America -- not more monochromatic mirror images of the candidates themselves.
Sunday, January 1, 2012 Just Imagine The Rose Parade Occupied For The People (4 comments)

Lets re-Imagine the missions of the Parade's "main stage" performers:

Wednesday, December 29, 2010 CNN Reignites The Death Panel Myth & Sparks My "Network" Moment (9 comments)
Corporate media perverted the plan. It afforded Sarah Palin, media's most caustic creation, round the clock amplification of her death panel misnomer. Rather than quell Palin's toxic distortions and present the plan factually, corporate media appropriated Palin's death panel fabrication and amplified it even more, spending weeks misrepresenting the plan and rendering it unrecognizable from its original form
Saturday, December 25, 2010 CA Nurses Strike Billion-Dollar Felon, HCA (4 comments)
Whatever the outcome of this strike, these nurses are standing up to their felon corporate employer and fighting valiantly for their rights and the rights of their patients. Their strike leaflet reads, "When we fight, we gain respect." After listening to their stories and hearing their dedication to their patients and their jobs, they've surely gained my respect. I wish them the best in this endeavor.
Sunday, December 12, 2010 In The Cold Climate of Politics, We'll Miss Elizabeth Edwards' Warmth (3 comments)
Palin, Angle and Brewer are antithetical to womanhood as I know it. Womanhood, as I know it, embodies the characteristics of Elizabeth Edwards: compassion, generosity, kindness and warmth. These right wing women are dispassionate and cold. They'd send a family to the street in winter without shelter or food.
Sunday, November 7, 2010 American Midterm Candidates Pandered For Pro-Israel Money and Votes (3 comments)
At a time when Israel faces near universal condemnation for the May 30th killings of eight Turkish citizens and one Turkish American aboard the Gaza bound Mavi Marmara, and worldwide rebuke for its continued blockade of Gaza and ongoing expansion into Jerusalem and the West Bank, American midterm candidates still pandered for pro-Israel money and votes during this 2010 midterm election.
Sunday, October 31, 2010 LA's Sheriff Baca Stirs Halloween Fear Against Marijuana Days Before The Election (3 comments)
Using unjustified fear is an abuse of governance. Sadly for Los Angeles, Lee Baca, its Sheriff of twelve years, is employing the abusive fear tactic. Mere days before California's November 2nd election, whose ballot includes Proposition 19, which if passed, would regulate, control and tax marijuana.
Friday, September 10, 2010 Los Angeles Launches Nation's First Israel Divestment Campaign (6 comments)
On Wednesday, September 8th, at a noon press conference in Los Angeles in front of the Israeli Consulate, the California Israel Divestment Campaign, a culturally diverse group of compassionate Americans, announced the launch of California ballot initiative 10-0020 to require public employee systems to divest from certain business activities in Israel.
Tuesday, August 24, 2010 Unions Are WRONG To Refuse To Build The Mosque (37 comments)
Honestly, just how weak can we Americans be? We flatten other nations to the ground. We decimate their schools, hospitals, hotels, apartment buildings, playgrounds and businesses. We kill and maim babies, children, teens, the elderly, women, men and animals. We destroy entire cities with aerial and ground attacks using weapons of mass destruction but we Americans can't tolerate memories of one horrible day nearly a decade ago.
Sunday, August 15, 2010 Santana Rocks Greek Theater 80th Birthday Tribute to Human Rights Icon Dolores Huerta. Si Se Puede! (3 comments)
Dolores Huerta, the powerhouse grassroots organizer who stood with Bobby Kennedy the night he was assassinated, and who was beaten so badly by San Francisco Police during a lawful protest in 1988 that her spleen had to be removed, celebrates a star-studded 80th birthday, spearheaded by Carlos Santana!
Sunday, July 11, 2010 Brad Sherman's Middle-East Town Hall Rife With Fear and Aggression (7 comments)
What Sherman is essentially telling his pro-Israel audience is that he turned down a seat on the powerful Ways and Means Committee that deals with social services, finance, health care, social security and taxes in favor of a seat on the Foreign Relations Committee to promote the US/Israel relationship.
Monday, June 28, 2010 Images In The Sand Connect Our Global Community (6 comments)
We who are selfish, who sacrifice our planet to fulfill desires not related to sustainment, are earth-perps. Every drowned polar bear incriminates us. Every oil asphyxiated dolphin, pelican and turtle inculpates us. Every decapitated mountain besmirches us. Every toxic landfill debases us.
Wednesday, June 23, 2010 "LOST ANGELS" at LAFilm Festival, Friday 6/25: Director Thomas Napper Illuminates Skid Row (3 comments)
Finally we meet the real people. We learn their names, their histories, their demons and their delights. Thomas Napper fills every frame with the realities of Skid Row. His lens shines the light on a people and a place too many turn choose to turn away from. He gives them his camera and they give him their confidence, their respect, and their truth.
Sunday, May 30, 2010 Harman Uses Bush/Cheney Fear Tactics On Winograd & Voters (12 comments)
One would have hoped Bush and Cheney's terror-filled tack would have ended with their regime - but it didn't. It continued on with Jane Harman. Witness for yourselves her fear-based ad, replete with Osama bin Laden, directed at Marcy Winograd, Harman's progressive opponent, and the voters of the 36th Congressional District:
Saturday, May 22, 2010 Will Marcy Winograd Pull a Sestak and Beat Jane Harman in the June 8th California Primary?
Hopefully those old behaviors have changed, and in these midterm elections, and the national elections to follow, we'll prove that we-the-average-American-people are willing to vote our best interests and elect the candidates who warrant our support.
Tuesday, April 27, 2010 "What Are You Reading?" Asked The L.A. Times Festival of Books
The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books is a cornucopia of literary and intellectual treats. It is two full days of panel discussions, live stage events and seemingly endless booths of books, reading paraphernalia and special interest vendors. There are booths devoted to spirituality, religion, and to no religion at all.
Sunday, April 18, 2010 FLOOR FIGHT! It's On! Challenger Winograd Takes Harman To CA Democratic Convention Floor (2 comments)
In an impressive feat against blue-dog incumbent Congresswoman Jane Harman, primary challenger and progressive democrat, Marcy Winograd, has secured more than the needed number of votes to pull Harman's Democratic Party endorsement recommendation and open the contest to debate today, Sunday, the last day of the convention.
Monday, March 22, 2010 Winograd vs. Harman in CA Primary: Will U.S. or Israel's Interests Come First? (4 comments)
Winograd's grassroots momentum so concerned her opponent that Harman retaliated with an ideological assault of minor relevance to most residents in her district. Rather than going toe to toe with Winograd on constituent specific matters, Harman chose Israel as her main campaign strategy. Though Harman and Winograd are both Jewish Americans, they hold radically different views on Israel.

Sunday, February 14, 2010 Jon Karl & ABC Give Cheney A Sunday Valentine
Had Karl used this interview to take Cheney to task re: specific accusations from experts and scholars, Karl may have achieved a new found respect as a reporter. But he didn't. Like the corporate hacks before him, Karl towed the corporate line. He was dismissive of the public trust and disparaging of the best traditions of journalism by not digging for the truth.
Saturday, February 13, 2010 Will Jonathan Karl Confront Cheney's Crimes In ABC's "THIS WEEK" Interview Sunday Morning? (8 comments)
Tomorrow morning, in his reportedly live interview with Dick Cheney, Jonathan Karl has the opportunity to use his This Week host audition to become the first journalist to publicly and directly confront Dick Cheney on his crimes. If Karl honestly and brazenly takes Cheney to task, he just might deserve the This Week host position. If he does not, he'll remain an unremarkable hack enabling an unrepentant criminal.

Sunday, January 10, 2010 Waxman Attacks Winograd On Israel; Ignites A Political Firestorm (17 comments)
In a move characterized by one Harman constituent as desperate, Waxman sent the following letter to Harman's Jewish supporters, attacking and misquoting Winograd's position on the issue of Israel/Palestine. Here is the text of Waxman's letter, distributed on his letterhead:
Wednesday, December 30, 2009 The Israel/Gaza Face-Off In Los Angeles (3 comments)
I've attended many opposing sides events in Los Angeles between those who support Palestinian-occupation and those who support Palestinian-liberation. The occupation supporters are always wrapped in the American flag, championing U.S. government bias toward Israel. They have a swagger that the occupation protesters don't.
Friday, December 25, 2009 UPDATED: Terrorism Attempt On Northwest Airlines Flight From Netherlands to Detroit (15 comments)
UPDATED: 6:00PM (ET) 12/26/09
23 year old suspect, Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab, has been formally charged with trying to destroy the Northwest jetliner and for bringing the volatile powerful explosive PETN aboard the plane. Dick Cheney has used the complicit American media, his most powerful anti-prosecution tool, to near Machiavellian perfection.
Sunday, October 11, 2009 Step Up To Mike's Challenge (6 comments)
Our pal Mike, who's never asked a thing from us, is now asking us to act - and act fast. At the end of "Capitalism: A Love Story," Mike issues this challenge to his audience: "You know, I can't really do this anymore - unless those of you who are watching this in the theater want to join me. I hope you will. And please, speed it up." But what is Mike's challenge?
Sunday, September 20, 2009 Media Mud Pies: CNN's Embarrassing Response To FOX (10 comments)
For 8 years CNN and corporate media have ignored Progressives but they become apoplectic to prove their extensive coverage of the Right. Shameful bias and hypocrisy!
Sunday, September 6, 2009 Obama Swiftboats Van Jones (16 comments)
For me, Jones' resignation isn't a testament to the frenetic dry-drunk tirades of a delusional Fox employee. For me, Jones' resignation was due to the Obama administration's failure to rightfully and necessarily defend a valuable member of its team.
Wednesday, September 2, 2009 David Swanson's DAYBREAK Is Chart-Topping Inspiration (1 comments)
DAYBREAK is a revelation. Its clarity and ease of understanding should be mandatory elements for all books of importance. It's not obtuse or relegated to the multisyllabic intellectual. It's a book of deep insight with every citizen in mind. Hence it is a public service.
Monday, August 24, 2009 Our Children Shouldn't Be Messengers Of Hate! (6 comments)
In military warfare, children are victims. In ideological warfare, children are victims. Regardless of which side of the religious and socio-political spectrum a child's parent or guardian is on, that child is innocent. Children are not billboards for hatred, malice and lies. But they can be purveyors of truth, and speak for the greater good. After all, it's their faces and that most affect us
Monday, August 17, 2009 Don Lemon & CNN, NO To "Real Americans" - YES To Real Journalism (1 comments)
While I applaud Mr. Lemon for confronting Hardage, I wonder where his and corporate media's outrage has been for the last eight years while the patriotism of those who opposed George Bush was constantly assailed. Instead of challenging accusations against Bush dissenters, corporate media embraced them. In fact they indulged them.

Monday, July 27, 2009 Whiteous Indignation (32 comments)
I've seen persistent smugness from Gates' arresting officer, Sergeant James Crowley, in his encounters with the press. This supposed expert on racial sensitivity has shown no sensitivity at all. But he does seem pleasantly taken with his fame. And why shouldn't he be? He out-maneuvered the President. He arrested a man for yelling-while-at-home and scored a beer at the White House as reward!
Saturday, July 4, 2009 President Obama, My Response To Your Fourth of July Letter (9 comments)
I ask the President to stand with us to end our government's collusion with war profiteers who create weapons of destruction and fill their coffers with OUR MONEY. I ask the President to replace the obscenity of war with the audacity of peace. I ask the President to stand with us to put public interest above corporate greed, and to put our health above all else.
Wednesday, June 24, 2009 Dylan Ratigan?! Really MSNBC, Don't We Have Enough Ranters Already? (5 comments)
By adding Ratigan's two MSNBC hours to Morning Joe Scarborough's preceding three MSNBC hours gives viewers five consecutive rancorous hours to start off nearly every day. Really MSNBC, is this what an already anxious nation needs?
Monday, June 22, 2009 Jingoism Isn't Journalism: Why I Don't Trust CNN & Corporate Media To Cover Iran (19 comments)
I question the motives and involvement of the same corporate-media that sold an unnecessary preemptive war and profited from its prosecution. I'm suspect of a corporate-media that co-opts people's personal media reports, then re-frames and retells them using the same corporate launch pads that propelled an illegal war.
Monday, June 15, 2009 Destruction In Los Angeles As Rioting "Fans" Taint Lakers Win (1 comments)
What's sad about the mobs who ravaged Los Angeles this evening is the selfishness they've shown their fellow Angelenos, and the way they tainted their favorite team's win. What's even more sad is that this is their method for expressing their joy -- by inflicting pain and destruction.
Tuesday, June 9, 2009 Newt Gingrich Declares: "I Am Not A Citizen Of The World!" (37 comments)
This evening at a Washington DC fundraiser, in a statement that can best be described as regressive American exceptionalism, former Republican Speaker Newt Gingrich said of himself, "I am not a citizen of the world. I think the entire concept is intellectual nonsense and stunningly dangerous!"
Monday, June 8, 2009 CODEPINK To Host Week Long Human Rights Protest At Israel/Gaza Border (8 comments)
More than three dozen Americans and Israelis rallied today at the border checkpoint here into Gaza, hoping to be let through into the war-torn area with playground building materials, food and other products to delivered to the Gazan people, after Israel authorities barred them from entering.
Sunday, May 31, 2009 How I Witnessed Sarah Palin's Fuming Anti-Abortion Fanatics (16 comments)
On October 4th I got a taste of this anti-choice fanaticism as Palin's zealots shouted "baby killers" at the pro-Obama activists outside. I saw it first hand with the anti-choice tirades looped again and again by one Palin follower after another. This is their mission - their single issue cause - and Sarah Palin has given it life.
Friday, May 29, 2009 LT. Dan Choi Takes "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" Directly To Obama (3 comments)
Dear Mr. President,
The time has come to end discrimination in our armed forces. We the undersigned ask you to stop the discharge of Dan Choi and any other soldier as a result of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."
Sunday, May 10, 2009 Joe Wright's The Soloist Exploits the Skid Row Community (7 comments)
What I uncovered on Skid Row is a malaise more perverse than Mr. Wright's orgiastic assault on the poor and the mentally ill. What I uncovered is the gentrification and police mobilization of downtown Los Angeles designed to wipe the streets clean of the defenseless to pave the way for the well-to-do.
Saturday, April 11, 2009 My Lesson in 'ACTION' from the Murder of Kitty Genovese (5 comments)
I learned one of my most powerful lessons when I was 14 years old in New York City. I was horrified by an infamous murder that occurred in 1964 in my burough of Queens. A young woman, Kitty Genovese, was brutally attacked, raped and murdered, yet her screams for help were casually ignored by most of her own neighbors.
Wednesday, March 25, 2009 "WORD CLOUD" - Your Brain On CNN!! (14 comments)
Any viewers of cable news, who for even one silly second doubted corporate media's desire to fry the brain of its audience and render it hopelessly confused, need only to have seen tonight's bizarro 'WORD CLOUD" on CNN.
Monday, March 9, 2009 Reading The Videos: Israel's Glamor v. Gaza's Despair (48 comments)
Perhaps the next time Israel unleashes its grotesque killing technology (like phosphorous) on Palestine, Lebanon or others, observers might consider whether Israel is being honest when it proclaims how desperate and fearful Israelis are.

And so, Mr. President, in honor of great citizens like Bob whose efforts we know you hold dear, and the rule of law we know you revere, please be a citizen hero for America and appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the crimes of George Bush. For the record, citizen hero Bugliosi is eager to come on board.
Sunday, January 4, 2009 President-Elect Obama,You Must NOT Be Silent! (82 comments)
Are you, President-Elect Obama, ready to be the hero Americans have been waiting for? Our world isn't made better through war and killing children. Our world is made better through peace. The longer you remain silent, the more children will die. Please show us, President-elect Obama, that YOU WILL NOT BE SILENT!!
Friday, December 26, 2008 Brinks or Blackwater: My Frightening Encounter With A Combat-Mode Guard & His Gun (19 comments)
Before I knew it, I'd walked right up to his gun, stopping inches before colliding. The suddenness of my stop thrust me slightly forward. I was so close to his gun that I saw its every groove - from its "sexy" color and shape - to its perfect fit in his hand. Its glimmer still glares in my mind.
Sunday, November 23, 2008 US Citizen Diplomats Arrive In Iran, Invited By Ahmadinejad (12 comments)

WE THE PEOPLE need to inform President-elect Obama of our opposition to his proposed high level appointment for Congresswoman Harman, and of our opposition to S 1959 and HR 1955.
Tuesday, October 7, 2008 What I Learned At The Sarah Palin Rally Before They Threw Me Out! (56 comments)
By unleashing Sarah Palin, John McCain has reinvigorated the anti-choice, anti-woman, anti-reproductive rights fanatics, who not long ago were at the forefront of domestic terror.
Monday, September 8, 2008 Meet PEACH, My Loving Pit Bull - The Anti-Palin (4 comments)
Meet Peach & Iddy - my pit bull and chihuahua. Watch their youtube - a testament to the gentility and loving nature of the pit bull breed. My Peach ain't NO Sarah Palin!!
Sunday, September 7, 2008 McCain's Misogyny & Fear Keep Palin on Tight Leash (6 comments)
The image of McCain hovering over Palin is the constant at every appearance. McCain's public subjugation of Palin, and her public acceptance of it, set male-female advancement back decades.
Sunday, August 31, 2008 Rare Behind-the-Scenes of CODEPINK Prepping for RNC
Since this Star Tribune video was first recorded, more CODEPINKers have arrived in Minneapolis to work beside Nancy Mancias (CODEPINK RNC Coordinator), Desiree Fairooz (who bravely confronted Condoleeza Rice with faux "blood stained" hands), Malia Burkhart (CODEPINK puppet builder), and other members already on-site.
Monday, August 25, 2008 Denver - Your Protestors Should Be Greeted With Flowers! (4 comments)
The American citizenry, most of whom have sat idly by for the past eight years while their nation was besieged by a criminal administration, owes a huge debt of gratitude to these troubadours of peace who have taken Denver by storm at this Democratic National Convention

Monday, July 28, 2008 CNN Anchor Slams Impeachment As Kabuki Theatre. FIRE HER!! (39 comments)
Where was the journalism? Where was the reporting and analysis? Do pejoratives like "stagecraft," "Kabuki theatre," and "a waste of taxpayer money" rise to constructive criticism for CNN?
Friday, July 18, 2008 Pelosi Secures Her "BUT" (7 comments)
I don't mean the double "TT" derriere kind of "BUTT." I mean the single "T" conjunction kind of "BUT." The proviso. The disclaimer. The tiny word that will ever be the prefix to her legacy. The "BUT" like:
"BUT" wasn't your grandmother the one who wouldn't impeach George W. Bush?
Friday, June 27, 2008 Momentum Building For Bugliosi's Case Against George W. Bush For Murder (15 comments)
Bugliosi's presentation blew the roof off. He held the audience spellbound as he guided it down the twisted path of Bush's hedonism and criminality. In true prosecutorial style, this master of law made his audience believe that Bush was guilty of murder.
Sunday, June 22, 2008 A Call to Heroes: My "Sit-Down" with Vincent Bugliosi (21 comments)
The heroes in Vince's case are those who would prosecute George W. Bush for murder in an American court of law. Vince is certain that amongst this vast population of prosecutors, there is at least one patriot who loves this nation deeply enough to hold Bush accountable for the murders of over 4,000 service men and women whom he lied into going to war.
Sunday, June 8, 2008 Russert's Hypocrisy: McClellan on Meet the Press (10 comments)
In Dick Cheney's March 16, 2003 appearance on Meet The Press, Cheney filibustered your every question and pushed his agenda for war. You asked all the EXPECTED questions from which Cheney made his case. Eighty hours later, Bush launched "Shock & Awe."
Thursday, June 5, 2008 My Dream Ticket: Barack Obama & Caroline Kennedy! (19 comments)
Finally, there's THE DREAM. MY dream. I've waited my entire life for a black President and for a woman President. I've also dreamed that the Kennedy legacy would be fulfilled. Most believed that destiny of high service and high office was in the hands of JFK, II. - but we lost him much too soon. Perhaps that destiny is Caroline's to fulfill. Would she accept the Vice Presidential call?
Monday, May 26, 2008 The Case For Mental Health Screening Of Candidates And Electeds (7 comments)
In "Bush On The Couch," Dr. Frank concludes that George W. Bush exhibits signs of megalomania, sadism, and an inability to show real compassion. From my own lay perspective, Dr. Frank is entirely right. Whether or not these traits would have appeared in a pre-screening, I have no idea, but it would have been well worth the time.
Saturday, May 17, 2008 Will An Adult Finally Prevail?! (3 comments)
The fact is, despite McCain's heroic military service during the Vietnam war, the quality of his character over the forty years since warrants scrutiny of the most critical kind. McCain's life of power and privilege so closely resembles that of George W. Bush that the prospect of a John McCain presidency is cataclysmic.
Thursday, May 1, 2008 The Convenient "Suicide" Of The DC Madam (65 comments)
I, for one, am hopeful the public - particularly the blogger community - will hold the authorities accountable for a thorough, open and honest investigation of this bizarre and tragic occurrence. In this highly political year, egregious acts are possible - if not probable - particularly when the identities and fortunes of the rich and powerful are at stake.
Friday, April 25, 2008 Pelosi HEARTS Bush! (14 comments)
Thank you, Larry King. When you bring it, YOU BRING IT! And last night, YOU BROUGHT IT!! Thanks to the few simple questions you asked Speaker Pelosi, viewers got a clearer insight into who Speaker Pelosi is and how Speaker Pelosi feels - about President Bush, about her self-described "day job," and about her Congressional opponent, Cindy Sheehan.
Saturday, April 19, 2008 O' When CODEPINK Came Marchin' In (To New Orleans On Eve's V-Day)
For my entire life - years before Hurricane Katrina - I fantasized about New Orleans. I dreamed of being decadent in the French Quarter in clubs where my music heroes played. I dreamed of tasting the food, studying the architecture, hearing the accents, and being cradled in the arms of the city in the cream, black, brown and white blended arms of the city.

Monday, January 14, 2008 John Kerry Should Just Go Away!! (7 comments)
John Kerry is the arbiter of bad judgement and the bastion of backing down. He's deluded himself into believing that Americans have forgotten his disastrous candidacy and forgiven him for it. This may be the case for some - but for those who value peace, social justice, and the moral standing of America, the mere mention of John Kerry is cause to recoil.
Saturday, January 5, 2008 ANTE UP FOR JOHN EDWARDS!! (3 comments)
The fight America needs today is the mission of Edwards' life. It's not his stump speech. It's his calling, and he's prepared to take it on. America's next President needs fire in his belly. Edwards is on fire. Obama's just on simmer.
Wednesday, January 2, 2008 Part 2: Media Broadcasts PEOPLE'S PARADE At Rose Parade New Years Day (1 comments)
With H.R. 1955 and S. 1959 threatening our First Amendment freedoms, our White Rose Coalition believed it had a duty to begin 2008 with the clarion call to Americans that this is the year to RISE UP.

Wednesday, December 19, 2007 MAXINE & TED - DON'T CALL US IF YOU CALL US TERRORISTS! (7 comments)
A nation that views its own people as enemies creates laws to suppress them. A Congress that ignores the will of its people creates laws to redefine them. Homegrown activists become homegrown terrorists. Per the vague designations in H.R. 1955, activists and terrorists are the same.
Sunday, December 2, 2007 MEET THE NEW AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARIES! (14 comments)
