John Manzo, CEO of NovaMRadio, told OpEdNews, when asked if this had been in the works,
Sheldon Drobny, co-founder of Air America, told OpEdNews.com,
"We were shocked at her suspension when we heard about and were hopeful she would join us and we're thankful she did. It's a done deal and we're very excited about. It gives us the top two progressive radio show hosts in the country, (Mike Malloy and Randi Rhodes) so we're thrilled.
This is the culmination of what we wanted when we founded air america and now she's back home with us. "
"If Randi Rhodes is available, how stupid whoud we be not to take her. We've wanted her since day one.
A press release on the NovaMRadio site informs us that Randi Rhodes says,
"With Manzo at helm of Nova M, I am truly going to work for the best of the best. He is radio elite…and I am too . I’m home, I’m home, I’m home!”
Nova M CEO Manzo says, “I just can’t stop smiling - Randi is simply the biggest and the best. Randi Rhodes and Mike Malloy under one roof – talk about TALENT!”
NovaMRadio reports that Rhodes will be a guest on the Larry King Show, tonight at 9 PM EST.
This is a major step for NovaMRadio, into the progressive radio major league.

Big Deal...Nova M Has Only 14 Affiliates
So what that Randi Rhodes has gone from Air America to NovaM Radio? NovaM has only 14 affiliate stations -- a fraction of Air America's 60. And both networks are only a tiny fraction of the 600-plus stations that carry Rush Limbaugh. Randi would be far better off on National Public Radio, which has over 800 affiliates. Commercial talk radio is a right-winger's temple and there's really no point in progressives wasting their money and resources on a medium that most progressives -- and moderates -- shun like the bubonic plague. Only 17 percent of American radio listeners listen to talk radio -- and the overwhelming majority of that audience are middle-aged, white male conservative Republicans. SEVENTEEN PERCENT! The only talk radio I listen to these days is George Noory's late-night "Coast to Coast AM," which shuns politics and talks up all kinds of offbeat -- and often off-the-wall -- subjects that you'll never hear on daytime talk radio: UFOs, ghosts, the paranormal, extraterrestrials, ancient civilizations, you name it. The political talkmeisters can shove it, as far as I'm concerned. by Skeeter Sanders (32 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 78 comments) on Friday, Apr 11, 2008 at 1:42:51 AM

Hope it is the start of something.
I'm glad Randi is still on. The Greens of Air America were personal friends of the Clinton cartel. I never realized that the Clintons were so rotten til Hillary's campaign. by John Hanks (1 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 1760 comments [39 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Friday, Apr 11, 2008 at 8:33:37 AM

I have mixed feelings
I noticed Randi's recent odd behavior toward callers last year and quit listening to her around the end of august, the beginning of september...quite awhile before she started her obama love/ hillary hate-fest. If I want to listen to narcissistic-bullying-yelling over callers-hanging up on callers talk show hosts, my AM dial offers up tons of them. I don't expect the constant stream of abuse she was dishing out from lefty hosts . I don't know what happened to Randi. I agree that her self-love is a turn off. I don't mind some self-promotion but Randi takes it to the GAG level. Hopefully, her association with NovaM (and my personal favorite, Mike Malloy) will help her to disengage from this Dem party operative persona and allow her to get back to informing her audience. I'd like to see some 24/7 coverage of the corporate industries backing both dem candidates and the repub candidate. I quit buying into the 'Vote Dem or Die' fearmongering in 2004 precisely because of watching the Dem party kill any tiny bit of progressive surge within the party. I see Obama as their management tool for the rise in, *gasp*, socialist tendencies. Which is why, with people like John Kerry (making beaucoup bucks off the Military Industry) supporting Obama, I just don't understand why there isn't a Progressive Media constant drum beat about who is funding this general election cycle. Do we, as voters, really want to perpetuate a corporate government by being scared into voting Dem? From DemocracyNow!: "... the back story on this is, the corporate crime lobby, both Democrats and Republicans, have for years, throughout most of the century, wanted to get rid of corporate criminal liability. And the Chicago School theorists put it this way: a corporation is not a person. Or as Jeffrey Parker put it, a corporation has no mind and therefore can commit no crime. And if a corporation isn't a person, it shouldn't be treated as a person in the criminal justice system. That's their argument. Well, my argument is, if a corporation is not a person and shouldn't be treated as a person in the criminal justice system, then it shouldn't have the constitutional rights of a person. It should be stripped of its rights to free speech, commercial and political speech. It should be stripped of its rights to a trial by jury. It should be stripped of its protection against unreasonable searches and seizures. You can't have it both ways, but they want it both ways. And this is not, as the New York Times put it in its editorial today, the Bush administration. I mean, he's the corporate crime master-in-chief, but he's got all the members of Congress, including Democrats, going along with him. There's no effective opposition, and it's a serious problem. ..." At any rate, I'll give Randi a shot on NovaM. on the premise she may break out of her dem party zombie trance. by NettieMae (0 articles, 2 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 37 comments [4 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Friday, Apr 11, 2008 at 1:30:14 PM

Good for her!
I loved Randi for a long time on Air America but she started to sound like the Republicans who are so rude and constantly interrupt whoever is making a good point. Rachel Maddow put Joe Scarborough in his place the other night when she said, Right, Joe, I should just shut up and let you do all the talking. Joe was trying to talk over her as he does all the time. Randi suffers from the same flaw and for some time. I used to enjoy her until she started to shut people down and cut them off. She obviously has a lot of knowledge but she should listen for a change and maybe she would learn a few things. by Caronome (0 articles, 0 quicklinks, 1 diaries, 327 comments [15 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Friday, Apr 11, 2008 at 6:58:13 PM

I called Randi at her show and she ripped me apart
I loved her, I even worked for WCPT in Chicago I loved the station that much. One day I called in after listening to her for a couple of years, she berated me then screamed that I was so stupid. I was hurt, she only brown noses her famous friends the show is really about her not the people who put her there her listeners. Nope, I do not listen to them any longer. I wrote Air America to tell them that I have turned them off because of the Obama over kill. I did not vote for Obama when he ran for Senate I still do not like him. Most people do not know that 45 minutes from Chicago is a Blackwaters camp that residents claim just opened up one morning fully operational, my question is how is it that Obama and Durbin did not address this camps location being so close to the city I searched for some sort of response or acknowledgement I could not find any. I use to listen to the station almost 24/7, Stephanie Miller and Randi were my favorites but this constant Obama mama stuff just turned me off though now I only listen to Ring of Fire. Kuchinich is my choice I will not vote for Obama I would vote for Hillary before Obama period. If I have to I will vote for Ron Paul, Obama is a huge sick joke. by Mari Salamanca (0 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 10 comments) on Saturday, Apr 12, 2008 at 10:18:02 AM
