The way to hit back at networks that get so ugly they are despicable in their partisan lies is to hurt their pocketbooks-- to cost them advertising dollars.
So let's just put the word out. If you advertise on ABC's 9/11 Lie Story, falsely blaming the Clinton administration for not capturing Osama, you're going to be boycotted.
We will be tracking the advertisers on the show and letting our readers know which advertisers supported the ugliest kind of partisan lying propaganda.
Back in 2004, this worked pretty well with Sinclair media.
If enough people blog it, publish articles about it and send letters about it, the advertisers will get the message.
It is time we start using the power of our numbers to influence the media. The way to do it is through the advertisers. We can use it not only to block undesirable programming, but also to push for and support good programming. It isn't necessary to start a whole progressive network. We just need more programming like the Daily Show, Keith Olberman and Colbert. We need to establish an advertising balance tracking system to insure that advertisers equally fund progressive and right wing media.
