Who Are the Enemies of Democracy?

by Rob Kall     Page 1 of 2 page(s)

who are headlong rushing the US ever faster towards becoming a fascist anti-democratic state.

It is important to identify who these despicable saboteurs As the United States drifts closer and closer towards fascism we must recognize that it is no accident. Democracy has been assaulted on many fronts by many individuals and organizations. If there is to be any hope of halting the drift toward fascism, it is essential that we identify the Enemies of Democracy of freedom are and what they do and how they operate to do their dirty work and damage. Some will be obvious-- like Ken Blackwell and Katherine Harris, two election corrupters who did all they could to erase the possibilities for honest elections in Ohio and Florida. Their machinations helped George W. Bush to steal two elections. The corruption of elections is tantamount to murder of democracy. This pair deserves the same criminal punishment that first degree murderers receive in Texas, and nothing less.

Rush Limbaugh and his right wing toxic talk radio imitators and clones are like rats, gnawing away at the threads of freedom that hold our nation's rights and our democracy together.

The mainstream media upper level corporate officers who have totally corrupted the news and injected right wing talking points and spin, while ignoring corruption, are among the enemies of democracy who should be removed from their positions of power. Fox news is one of the worst corporate offenders. Judicial Watch is a right wing think tank and advocacy organization that has harangued and harrassed the left and democracy. The National Rifle Association has long used its huge resources to push the right wing extremist agenda.

The list is long. The goal of this article is to start building a list of the worst offenders-- individuals, corporations and organizations. It's a job that requires teamwork. I'm hoping that by writing this article, it will kick off a big reader and writer response, with names of people and organizations cited.

Who do YOU think is an enemy of democracy? Which companies do you feel are using their resources to corrupt and weaken democracy and the freedoms granted to citizens by the constitution? Which organizations are systematically and strategically doing all they can to wipe out the protections and regulations put in place to prevent abuses of the constitution and of our rights?

We'd like to identify the worst 50 to 100 of these and put the articles together, first into a special web page and then, into a book.

It's important, when identifying these despicable vermin, to clearly describe and document why you are calling them Enemies of Democracy. People all over the world can learn from this project. They can see the way these people subvert, corrupt and erode the strongest democratic principles.

As the project unfolds, and we get more and more names suggested, we'll be adding a poll to allow readers to vote on the worst of the worst.

Here's a list of some more traitorous enemies of Democracy.

History has shown that it is essential to aggressively prosecute those people in high power who violate the laws of the land, the laws of humanity and democracy, or their escape from justice allows them to perpetrate more damage and allows them to support further abuses. For example, George Bush sr. was an accomplice in the criminal activities associated with the Iran Contra scandal, as was Ronald Reagan. Had Bill Clinton aggressively prosecuted Bush and Reagan, it is unlikely his son would have been able to win election to the presidency and Reagan would not be celebrated as a Republican hero. Remember, a year after Nixon won re-election, he was on the way to impeachment.

Please add your suggestions for additions to this list. write to contact(at)opednews.com. We could also use help with getting address and contact info for each of these traitor criminals

George Bush: First degree democracy murderer. Stole presidency. Genocide of over 100,000 Iraqis, Lied to congress and the US to start a pre-emptive war. Gave handouts and deals to corporations and industries, totally ignoring interests of the nation. Systematically eroded environmental protections. address info: White house. Suggested minimum sentence: life in Prison for each Iraqi civilian death, ie, 100,000 life sentences plus fines equalling all his known assets and any assets that become uncovered. .

Dick Cheney- deals with Halliburton, behind scenes deals with oil companies, connection with Victoria Plame CIA agent outing because she was wife of ambassador Joe Wilson. Suggested sentence: Life in Prison plus fines equaling all his known assets and any assets that become uncovered.

Katherine Harris: Democracy murderer; Corrupted Florida 2000 election, accomplice with Jeb Bush and 5 supreme court Justices in theft of the presidency.

Jeb Bush Corrupted Florida 2000 election, accomplice with Jeb Bush and 5 supreme court Justices.

Needed, one Guillotine and some knitting needles

Sorry Rob, yet another criticism of an editorial opinion from this old lefty.

I am very tired, frankly, of all the energy expended on hatred and divisiveness and none on anything of real value. Far better you work within your community to educate voters, or help out at a child care center, or rebuild the kitchen at a senior center than editorialise about who to hate next.

While you act the part of Madame deFarge I will continue my efforts to build a third party in this nation, continue to work within my community as mentioned above, spreading voter information , registering those not participating and working to build. I guess I will let you do the tearing down.

To everyone else lost in such hatred and thirsting for revenge:

Activism is positivism, we cannot make inroads into the lethargy and complacency of the American voter through acting out childish day dreams for revenge. Everyone who pays attention to the political sphere knows full well exactly who and what are working to the detriment of these United States and, frankly, the whole world. The key to change is not compiling lists of those for whom the guillotine awaits but in electing those who will make positive changes.

Those of you who are democrats must work within that party to throw out the neocons installed by Clinton who have wrecked that once proud party and replace them with progressive thinkers and doers. Those , like me, who feel that cause to be not theirs must find alternative means to be effective, I believe helping the Greens is such work. We must all strive to educate and help folks participate, it is the lack of participation that allows Bush and Cheney to subvert our democratic processes.

All power to the people.

C'mon Rob

C'mon Rob, I have a hard time accepting you actually believe the article you wrote. It sounds like you only believe in free speech for left wing wackos. Rush and Ann Coulter or no worse for this country than Michael Moore or Howard Dean. You and the rest of the extreme liberals should listen to the comment above by Richard Durbin about all this hatred before people like him create another democratic party like the old one. I'm from the south, as you know, and we left the democratic party when the wackos moved in. If we could get our right wing wackos out of our party, like Falwell, Roy Moore, and Robertson and join up with likes of Richard Dubin we would have a better country. Your redneck buddy from the south, Doug

Ideological enemies and common criminals - not quite the sam

In my opinion, the two writers above make an important point - if we are for free speech, we cannot punish people who exercise their right to it even when we disagree with what they say. What we can do, however, is to point out who these ideological enemies are and what it is that leads us to put them in this category ; not least can we excoriate their attempts to monopolise free speech for themselves ! But those who should be punished constitute another category (although there certainly are bands binding members of both groups !) - the people in high positions who knowingly break the law. They are not few and they are very visible : the brush-cutting president-select and would-be king, his sharpshooting vice, his «the war you have» secretary of war, the present torture-loving (when applied to others) attorney general and his predecessor, the five Supreme Court justices who aided and abetted the coup d'état of 2000, etc, etc. They are guilty of many crimes against both individuals and the body politic and should be tried and sentenced for them. But not to the penalties to which those convicted of first-degree murder in the State of Texas are condemned ; if we act as our enemies do, we become indistinguishable from them. Besides, it is better to keep them around as living examples of what treachery and lies can do to turn a once-great nation into a flailing and vicious rogue empire....

Chamelions are Champions

Rob you have a point. It is important to expose those criminals and enemies and keep the pressure on so they are not able to committ more crimes to America in the future. Time has proven that by hiding under the covers is no remedy. We can listen to posters who say do something positive and build 3rd parties and ignore the scum, but everyone knows leaving the scum in the soup does not make it taste very good.

It's Ok for Limbaugh and Coulter to ramble on and cause hate, but not Ok for Moore and Dean to counter it! We can allow hate talk from Savage and his extremist web of cartoon rantings, but not saying anything about it is positive?

I think awareness and allowing people to know who these jackels are is important. We can then be able to make decisions in our economic life, that does not benefit them.

If people don't listen they have no audience, and they go no where. I have come to the conclusion that people who ignore this and start 3rd parties are really people who prolong the criminal actions in the land, by helping the criminals stay in power. The only way a 3rd party can win is if they join the Democrats to oust the Reublicans, and then the Democrats can change their name. Or to have a 3rd party steal the election.

The establishment is to ingrained to allow a third party to win..that is the reality, 3rd parties sound nice but it is only a wish.

I support you on this Rob.

Even though I have wanted to start my own party the Peoples Direction Party, the wish has merit, but I think it is too difficult to realize without an outright revolution and taking or gaining the American military to support this.

There are to many obstacles, even though the case is made for their criminal deeds.

Respect is earned or is it honored because it is right? I think it is honored, because causing violence to end it is the end of Martin Luther Kings Dream.

So America is the land of hypocrisy, and a place of venom for power. The snakes stay with snakes, the spiders with the spiders. The scorpions with the scorpions.

Those democrats who have lets us down should be exposed and ousted as being Republican supporters. Lets not give Hillary the nod for leading the Democrats when she supports the Bush War.

We need Greens to be Democrats in order for them to be Greens in the future. If Greens were able to get what they want from the Democrats do you think they would want a 3rd party? No question there right!

So I think you are right on Rob......lets get a list and show the public who is standing in the way of a thriving society in America.
