Tony Snow gotta go for the dough

White House spinster Tony Snow has become the latest partisan to flee the Bush bunker. Although Snow has just finished demanding chemotherapy, he is not leaving because of recurring colon cancer.

"I feel terrific,'' Snow said today. "It's not a health matter. It's purely financial."

Poor Tony. As host for Bush's administration Snow had to get by on a measly $168,000 a year for hosting a free spin zone unfair and imbalanced. As a host at Fox News, Snow made far, far more money slinging Bushit.

Cancer might not have been able to stop him from serving his President and country but making a buck must come first. That's a call from a higher power any true-blooded Republican can understand. Sacrifice is fine but not when it comes to the wallet. As Snow said: "I've told people when my money runs out, then I've got to go." (There you go, folks: the soon-to-be announced Republican solution for Iraq.)

So much for all that liberal hogwash about "ask not what your country can do for you but ask what you can do for your country."

Expect Snow to return to Fox News where his service at the White House will likely be treated as uninterrupted employment with Fox News.

B. 1952, GA, USA. D. To Be Determined. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, lover, confidant and friend of many from bikers to Zen masters; American writer and speaker, known for his criticism of Mammon's unholy trinity of big business, big government and big religion; served the least of them professionally as psychologist and voluntarily as activist for decades; loved to shoot basketball, billiards and the bull; lived free, died game.
