Tazing

Tazing is not good for America unless the tasers are used the way the nightsticks or fists used to be used by police. To stop an out of control criminal. It can't be used in every situation as it is being used now. You can't tazer a ten year old who is in handcuffs for instance and expect everyone to applaud that you didn't shoot her/him with a gun. That wasn't supposed to be what tasers were deployed for. More training is necessary and a total revamp of procedure may be required.

Reply: Yup

Agreed. Which is why I think it's a false choice when we say "I'd rather be Tased than shot." But we buy into it. The Taser is used far too often, and in many cases where less violence would normally be used.

Well, if they ever start making underclothes that return the shock to the gun, we may see the hesitancy to use it that should now already be in effect. :)
