I find it interesting that the Reverend Pat Robertson has endorsed Rudy Giuliani for president seeing that Giuliani is pro-choice.  The reason why I find it interesting is that back in 2005, he basically stated that the Venezuelan president, Hugo Chavez should be assassinated. In fact, I wrote of that in this past VHeadline.com column.

You may be asking why I find it interesting that he is endorsing a pro-choice candidate is that I just recently wrote a column for VHeadline.com which is a Venezuelan news site in which abortion is against the law except if the mother’s life is in danger.  So, I find it fascinating to say the least that a reverend a man of the cloth would threaten the life of a president whose country is clearly pro-life.

Pat Robertson has also spoken out against Islamic extremists, and as you will also see within that article, Iran is also pro-life.  Yes, folks, these two countries do not give a woman the right to choose unless the health of the mother is in danger.  Yet our country calls them both rogue regimes.

In fact, the countries that produce these Islamic extremists that Pat Robertson refers to, many of them abortion is illegal according to this web site.  Even in Iraq, abortion as you will clearly see is illegal.

Now let us move onto Mitt Romney, he just recently stated that America’s families are under attack due to out of wed lock babies. I am going to call Romney on this since I am also pro-life.  At least those babies are being brought into the world and yet he can scape-goat them as being a problem?  The babies are not the problem, politicians such as him are.  He should be heralding those women who chose to bring these babies into the world if he is pro-life.

Romney also says that he sees GAY marriage as being one of our biggest threats and I would like to challenge him on that one too.  Perhaps if we were to allow GAYS to marry and adopt unwanted babies, society would be the better for it.  If a GAY couple were to adopt a baby that may have been aborted, we would have saved the life of one baby.

Now as far as Internet pornography goes, if it is not harming a child and being viewed by a consenting adult, the government has no business interfering in how said adult spends his/her leisure time.

According to this article, it states, “He wants to thwart pornography by requiring easy-to-engage filters to be installed on every computer sold.” Romney’s call for this smacks of big brother.  Besides I think that violent games threaten society more; why isn’t he calling for the same filters to be installed in computers so that violent acts cannot be viewed?

He thinks that these social issues are the biggest threat to American families as he panders to the Federalist Society.  What clearly threatens the American family is when the bread winner is laid off or those two million families who will face pending foreclosures.  I would say that trumps the items he brings up.  Of those facing these pending foreclosures; how many are pregnant?  Of those being laid off; again, how many are pregnant?  Through these crises, those unborn babies need nourishment in order to thrive and unless the mother gets adequate nutrition, often babies are born premature or worse, dead.

Well what about health care and this gets back to how Venezuela takes care of its own.  You see, since abortion is against the law again unless the life of the mother is threatened, each baby during pregnancy and as it is born, they get free health care and food to eat along with the rest of the population.  These programs are paid for through the profits of CITGO oil.  Gee, imagine a country that actually takes care of its poor and unborn.

In closing in calling for the assassination of Pres. Hugo Chavez and later apologizing Robertson was clearly not showing signs of being pro-life.  At least when it comes to the pro-life movement, Pres. Chavez puts his money where his mouth is.
