The Declaration of Independence
We came to be because brave patriots sacrificed their lives, spilt their blood to form a more perfect union. Their quest was freedom, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for 'we the people'. We owe it to their memories to live up to the spirit of their words that have carried us through the darkest of times.

My hat's off to all obituary writers...In reaction to my Tim Russert piece
(6 comments) To those obit reporters, you are doing some of the best work that is out there. You are celebrating a person's life for those left behind instead of tearing them down in front of all of us. My hat's off to you.

Tim Russert Remembered: Who saw telling the story as a duty to the American people
(5 comments) The next generation of journalists should all aspire and desire to be a Tim Russert, a Peter Jennings, an Edward R. Murrow and the countless others who knew in their hearts that telling the story was a duty to their fellow Americans.

Elliot Spitzer forced Alan Hevesi to resign and he must do the same
(1 comments) I am calling upon every single Democratic leader demanding that Spitzer resign so that we as a state can heal. I am calling upon them to do so since we have bigger problems to solve such as our $5 billion dollar budget deficit that affects each and every New Yorker. While many New Yorkers suffer, Eliot Spitzer's libido did not suffer.

A letter sent to DNC Chair, Howard Dean on behalf of Gravel and Kucinich
(12 comments) We the people deserve to hear from candidates like former Senator Mike Gravel and Congressman Dennis Kucinich. Our founders would be ashamed not only at you, your party, the Republican Party, but they would be spinning in their graves seeing a media abridge free speech.

Health insurance brings peace of mind: Those without live in terror
(7 comments) Every citizen of this country deserves quality health insurance. But, the sad and angering fact is that these politicians do not see it as we do. With the snap of a finger, you may be the next to go without health insurance. Do you feel the terror yet?

Where are Hillary Clinton's tears for our soldiers and innocent Iraqis?
(1 comments) This column is dedicated to all of our soldiers who have lost their lives in Iraq and who have come home maimed. This column is also dedicated to the countless innocent Iraqis who have been killed at the hands of the United States government.

Martin Tankleff: Thanked supporters for "Making his fight, their fight"
In my opinion true justice for those guilty while protecting those who may be innocent is life in prison without the possibility of parole. This way the defense team working on behalf of those innocent have time to save that defendant's life and those guilty will spend the rest of their lives in prison which I feel is a fate worse than death itself.

Death of democracy at the hands of party elites and the mainstream media
(4 comments) To close out this piece what we have all witnessed in recent years is the true death of our democracy at the hands of both the Republican Party and the Democratic Party. We have equally witnessed it coming from the mainstream media.

Heaven came to us all through Yousiff: A Christmas message
As I was trying to think of a Christmas theme to write about this year, my involvement in this story to help a child named Yousiff was my miracle. Yousiff touched me in so many ways and if I could visit him, it would be to say, "Thank you, Yousiff"

Note to Canada: Pedophiles are terrorists...Why such a lenient sentence of one?
(1 comments) World governments often think that terrorism is a result of terrorists bombing places and taking the lives of the innocent. I would go them one better, pedophiles are equally terrorizing the innocent especially the most innocent, our children.

Ron Paul: The bionic candidate
(11 comments) You would have thought with the Christmas season upon us, this campaign would not have seen this bionic-number, but it did. Maybe the people want an early 2008 Christmas present. Who can blame them when year after year especially during the Bush years, all the American people have received is coal in their stockings.

Politics: Is America receiving only the chaff instead of the wheat?
(2 comments) when the media focuses primarily on these top-tier candidates another quote from Adlai E. Stevenson comes to mind as it pertains to the media, "An editor is someone who separates the wheat from the chaff and then prints the chaff." So are Americans only receiving the chaff and not the wheat? You tell me.

It's the Constitution, Stupid...A message to all politicians
(1 comments) In essence what we need is elected leaders guided by the Constitution and not religious doctrine. We should remind them all, "It's the Constitution, stupid."

America's day of infamy was when the Bush V. Gore case was decided
(7 comments) The people were denied their voice on that day and we must always be mindful that it should never happen again. Bush always states that our soldiers are dying for our freedoms and one of those freedoms is to have every vote counted. His very presence in office and by the means he obtained it besmirches the honor and duty to all that serve this country.

Note to Israel in dealing with the Gaza: "Let those people go"
(4 comments) to the State of Israel, my words are clear when it comes to those living in the Gaza, let those people go and let them get the medical care they so rightly deserve.

Bill O'Reilly's head must be doing a 360 and spitting pea soup
(3 comments) In closing to attack pedophile victims such as Shawn Hornbeck or to state that writers for "left web sites" such as me are glad that men like Tony Snow has been battling cancer, it is none-other than Bill O'Reilly who is in need of an exorcism. The reason I say that is that exorcists who battle the devil in the Rituale Romanum will often state that the devil will lie and the same is directed at Bill O'Reilly.

Robert Gates said, "No, I do not." When asked if Israel posed a threat
(4 comments) Note to both Republicans and Democrats alike: I challenge you to vote Paul and Gravel in your primaries instead of the top-tier candidates who are blowing smoke when it comes to any threat posed by Iran and no threat coming from Israel. Americans for the most part are tired of being played for suckers.

Debates and conventions: How we the people are manipulated by the media
(3 comments) In retail you want the consumer to purchase the high-ticket items first and seeing how much is raised by the front runners for their campaigns; it is what makes them the high-ticket items.

John Pilger: A profile in courage for daring to tell the truth
(1 comments) As I condemned the actions of Tucker Carlson in my last piece, I herald the works of John Pilger who many may not know of but should. I do think if we had courageous journalists such as Pilger broadcasting every single day, this country would be the better for it.

Tucker Carlson receives my 'Smarmy Award' for smearing Ron Paul
(8 comments) As we all know, Carlson is married with four children and one has to wonder: Why is he hanging around a brothel owner let alone prostitutes? Where are his conservative values?

Mike Gravel unlike Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama bravely speaks truth to power
(2 comments) some will take this column as an endorsement of Gravel, it is not, it is speaking up for the truth when the truth should and must matter in this country as we go forward. It is also speaking up for those soldiers who have died and have come home maimed for life. It is for the one million innocent Iraqis who have died.

Is Pres. Bush endorsing Senator Clinton?
(7 comments) I will let you decide whether or not there is a cozy relationship between both and perhaps the next time she attacks President Bush, one must wonder why. Or is this simply a case where, politics makes strange bedfellows?

An expression of thanks on this Thanksgiving Day
(1 comments) Lastly and again to those who have read my columns and have disagreed with my prose, I also wish you a Happy Thanksgiving. The lesson I have learned during these past seven years as a freelance writer is that we truly have the freedom to disagree with each other. We should all be thankful for that. I am thankful that you at least take time to care when some seem so distant or oblivious to what is going on.

Nelson Mandela chose to forgive: Why can't we forgive Don Imus?
(11 comments) I will leave you with this quote coming from Nelson Mandela who stated upon leaving office, "South Africans must recall the terrible past so that we can deal with it, forgiving where forgiveness is necessary but never forgetting" Let us remember how many years he was locked away in a South African prison during its most heinous time called Apartheid.

CNN takes a lashing for using inside-the-Beltway pundits such as Carville
(1 comments) In fact this is what, Markos Moulitsas of the Daily Kos had to say of using Carville, "Would it kill CNN to disclose that James Carville is a partisan Clinton supporter when talking about the presidential race?" That is a very good question coming from Moulitas.

Both CNN and NBC win my Benedict Arnold's award by excluding Mike Gravel
(2 comments) I have not handed out my Benedict Arnold Award in quite sometime and seeing that both NBC and CNN excluded former Senator Mike Gravel from taking part in these debates, they are now the recipients' of my award.

Mike Gravel could have challenged Clinton to filibuster to end this war
(3 comments) He could have stated to the front-runner, Senator Hillary Clinton: Why aren't you filibustering to end this war given the fact you have said power? I would have loved to have heard any response coming from the senator since she is my senator.

The debasement of food: Do you still feel like saying, 'Super-size' me?
(1 comments) As the congress just approved another $50 billion dollars to fund this obscene war over in Iraq in which many Iraqis are now starving, there has been an increase of people going hungry in this country. Bush is not the sole person to blame. The blame falls equally upon our congress.

Cynthia G. Scott is the winner of my Founding Fathers award
I want to congratulate Ms. Scott in her stance that registries do very little to protect our children. Her statement in part stated that the use of these registries would be "creating a false sense of security for the public" says it all.

Former Halliburton CEO Cheney laid the wreath as Bush hid on his ranch
(2 comments) Bush chose to snub our veterans and send Vice President Cheney in his place to Arlington National Cemetery. Here we have the former CEO of Halliburton who has made money hand over fist through a company that has profited dearly from this war while our veterans are not treated with the respect they deserve.

Note to the Iowa GOP: Each Republican has the right to hear from Ron Paul
(3 comments) In closing, until we hear from any candidate no matter what party, they are dropping out of the race; each should be included within every debate that takes place. We must be the ones to tell the party leaders, we the people have the right to hear from each and every candidate. This country does not belong to party leaders; it belongs to we the people.

The hypocrisy of both Mitt Romney and Pat Robertson
(2 comments) In closing in calling for the assassination of Pres. Hugo Chavez and later apologizing Robertson was clearly not showing signs of being pro-life. At least when it comes to the pro-life movement, Pres. Chavez puts his money where his mouth is.

The water-boarding of the United States Constitution and the American people
In viewing that commentary by Olbermann one notices a rag stuffed down the throat of a person depicting this torturous technique. As I gazed upon it, I could not help but think that rag symbolized the United States Constitution. It was only a "god damn piece of paper" according to Pres. Bush.

Local races: Those who chose not to vote should be ashamed of themselves
(2 comments) The late President John F. Kennedy once said, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country" and I do believe what you can do for your country as well as your local races is to come out and vote.

The survivors of abortion
(7 comments) At the time, Betty did not know she was pregnant with twins. One baby was aborted, but miraculously, Sarah survived. Sarah has forgiven her mother -- and for five years they traveled the world speaking together about the pain and suffering caused by abortion.

The inefficacy of government and why I am a Lou Dobbs voter
(11 comments) I have to agree with Lou Dobbs when he says that Americans are getting a "belly full" meaning they are fed up. By the way on last night's show he (Dobb's) stated that an increasing amount of presidential candidates are paying attention to what they term Lou Dobbs voters and count me in as one of them. I for one have had my belly full of these politicians.

Abortion: Who will speak out for the little ones?
(20 comments) It is my hope that this one column will not be met with utter contempt, but one of thoughtful reflection. If you are still pro-choice after reading this, it is your right as a free and individual thinker to remain so. I just felt the need to reach out and speak out for those whose voices I never heard. They are the voices of unborn babies.

The Eve of Destruction and I Feel Like I'm Fixin to Die
(15 comments) If you think for one second that the top-tier presidential candidates on both sides of the political aisle can deliver us from this madness, think again. This message goes to both Republicans and Democrats alike do not vote for any of these top-tier candidates in the upcoming primaries. Our very survival depends upon it.

President Bush, does the name Luis Posada Carriles ring a bell as you lecture Cuba?
(5 comments) If Bush wishes to extend any olive-branch to the people of Cuba, it is up to him to send Luis Posada Carriles packing. It is up to him to extradite Carriles to Venezuela who has consistently called for this action. He does not get to lecture Cubans when we have in our midst a monster that killed many of their countrymen back in October of 1976.

We need to ask 'are' our children learning
Maybe if they see us reading more books or even your daily newspaper, something may click. Instead of saying, "Hey, kids do you want to go to the mall?" instead we say, "Hey, kids let's take a trip to the library." It couldn't hurt; could it?

California wildfires: Those who bash Californians need to grow up
(1 comments) I think that some Americans need to grow up and seek the advice of those who are still apart of America's 'Greatest Generation'. This group of people were the can do Americans and would not have reacted in such a juvenile and hateful manner.

Pres. Bush should apologize and not Rep. Pete Stark
(14 comments) I have seen far more graphic photos coming out of this heinous war and you tell me if Rep. Pete Stark should apologize. I think that it is President Bush who owes an apology to our military, those who have died while serving and especially to the Iraqi people.

Saturday, October 20, 2007
Those who feel Stark should apologize, are acting as Pres. Bush's enablers
(4 comments) We must remember that literally thousands upon thousands of Iraqi children will never grow up. Those within the military who have been killed will never get to see their children grow up. They need adults speaking out for them.

Those who oppose AIPAC and CUFI are caught in the realm of nightmares
(7 comments) Those of us who do go up against these organizations are the ones truly looking out for the safety and security of this nation as we will equally go up against any terrorist organization like al Qaeda. I do not see a difference in any of these organizations and given our recent history; do you?

Just go away, President Bush...A letter to the Washington Post
(5 comments) Anytime that you see an article with Bush giving 'we the people' a directive, what plans he has in the works or his conduct of this war, just get to your keys and fire off a letter. Let us do so in defense of all those who have died during his administration.

To Al Gore, I thirst to drink from the cup of intelligence
(5 comments) From the bottom of our hearts, Mr. Gore, thank you for your selfless work on behalf of this planet and congratulations on winning the Nobel Peace Prize. This is a prize that no judicial body can take away from you.

Is supporting political parties and front-runners more important than our country?
(1 comments) Is being a part of the Republican and Democratic Party more important than the direction of this country? Is it more important than our soldiers who continue to die each and every day?

Women and children in the Congo are literally being wiped off the face of the map
(5 comments) In reading this article, a saying kept rolling around in my head, "Evil prevails when good men do nothing" and it certainly appears as if evil resides in the Congo and our government is not stepping up to the plate to help these innocent victims.

Mike Gravel: I love my country, and I love the human race
(5 comments) After viewing the interview spotlighting Mike Gravel, Bobby Kennedy's voice spoke to me when he once said, "There are those who look at things the way they are, and ask why... I dream of things that never were and ask why not."After these seven long and arduous years, I long to dream of things that never were and I do ask; why not?

AIPAC, Israel, and the United States, oh my
(10 comments) Our national security demands that we hold Israel equally culpable as we do Iran, Iraq and any other nation. But, with powerful lobbying groups such as AIPAC, our national security is in danger. This is the stuff that nightmares are made of.

To end the war in Iraq; whatever happened to Senate Rule 22?
(4 comments) While the senate Democrats hope for the "landscape to change in the coming months" one thing will not change is that our troops will continue to die along with innocent Iraqis. And we elect these senators, why?

America needs a president who does not apply fear wastefully
(4 comments) We are deserving of a president who does not apply fear wastefully in which 'we the people' can honor this president's intuitive signals without the denial of them. That is the leadership we need going forward. Is there that dynamic leader out there willing to rise to this immense challenge, 'we the people' only pray so.

Each nation in the Middle East has the right to exist
(2 comments) I find that the only way to address the instability in the Middle East is for us to leave Iraq and act as honest brokers treating all countries equally. No country in that region should be told their right to exist trumps all others. If we continue down that road, it will be at our very peril. Unending wars are simply not an option, only our demise as citizens of this planet.

Help find a little girl, 'Madison' and help with the arrest of Chester Arthur Stiles
I am asking all of my readers to pass this alert on to others to help the Nye Sherrifs Department to help capture, Stiles and to find this little girl immediately.

'Madison' is found safe; Charles Arthur Stiles is now considered a suspect
(3 comments) Child sexual predators are the monsters that lurk within our society and it is up to us to aid law enforcement in their apprehension. Again, if you recognize the picture of Stiles within my previous piece, please call the numbers above.

Gravel: "I am ashamed of you, Hillary"
(3 comments) While some may say that I am unfairly targeting Democrats such as Clinton and Obama, we have to remember that last November; we were told things would change in relation to Iraq. So far from where I sit, nothing has changed. In fact, I feel that it's getting worse.

DNC, Chair Howard Dean has abandoned the base as he courts evangelicals
(7 comments) This is where I feel like matching the 'Dean scream' in seeing this move by the Democratic National Committee Chair, Howard Dean. To Howard Dean, your base has been there, but you have left the base in the dust.

Cartoonist, Steve Breen wins my 'Depravity Award'
(1 comments) No, Steve Breen it is not me who should be shamed, it is you. You are what is wrong with this country. Tonight, most likely an innocent Iraqi child is dying a horrible death and you think that is funny? Most likely today a soldier died a horrible death and you think that is funny?

Dare I say that many see Bush as the "petty and cruel dictator"?
(2 comments) At the very opening of his question and answer period, Columbia's president, Lee Bolligner said to the Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, "Mr. President, you exhibit all the signs of a petty and cruel dictator." Dare I say that is exactly how President George W. Bush...

Note to Condoleezza Rice: Americans and not Israelis should be our top priority
(3 comments) It is time for our government to represent our needs as a people. If this editorial should inspire you to take action in some way, please let it be for you to call your elected officials to cut off the aid to Israel. We simply cannot afford it. Tell them of your needs and of how you have suffered throughout the years.

The war in Iraq is but a Ponzi scheme
(3 comments) More than likely should a blow-back occur and I do feel it is only a matter of time we shall see one, the political elites will be sheltered. It will be you and me who will become its next victims. Both innocent Iraqis and innocent Americans have had and will continue to have blood spilled as a result of this Ponzi scheme.

In collecting data on traveling Americans 'we the people' have lost our country
As I was thinking of these drivers licenses that Spitzer wants to give out to illegals, I thought to myself, we lost our country only to wake up to read where it will be legals that are being monitored. I will put it bluntly; have American citizens become second class people within their own country?

Why Me? Voices from America
I just wish I had more answers to give my readers, but when I do not see real action coming from Washington, D.C., I too am at a loss. So, to the politicos in Washington, D.C.; do you think you can get on the ball and get the people's business done?

Thursday, September 20, 2007
The Declaration of Independence
(1 comments) In hearing this declaration read and reading its transcript, several passages do stick out. I believe many others will stick out as you familiarize yourself with the words coming from this country's founders.

Cong. Walter Jones receives my 'Founding Fathers Award'
In going about your normal Saturday routines, please think of Congressman Walter Jones sitting in his office writing those "mea-culpa" letters to those family members left behind. This is truly the act of a courageous and just man. God bless him.

If Republicans choose Giuliani; are they stuck on stupid?
(2 comments) In winding down the Bush administrations stranglehold of this country, I really feel that a vast majority of Americans are thirsting and craving for a real change. If the Republicans wind up choosing Giuliani as their candidate, we will all be in for more of the same, if not worse. To the Republican Party, please tell me that you have learned from your past mistakes.

"Help what have I done?" The abridgement of free speech
(9 comments) I have often said of our founders, they were geniuses when it came to drafting the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights. They must be saying how dumb some are for not upholding these rights guaranteed to 'we the people'.

Tuesday, September 18, 2007
Rehashing the 2004 campaign as it relates to the taser incident
(2 comments) As many more of our soldiers die in this war, it is heightening people's emotions. Many feel this war could have been handled differently had Kerry stuck to his guns and challenged that outcome. Maybe, just maybe Senator Kerry as president would have ended it. But, we will never know.

Monday, September 17, 2007
On Constitution Day, My 'Founding Fathers Award' goes to Sen. Robert Byrd
To close out this piece, I hereby award my 'Founding Fathers Award' to Senator Robert Byrd and ask that my readers demand answers from their elected officials asking them how this war is legal. Our founders would have expected 'we the people' to do so.

Sunday, September 16, 2007
To Nancy Pelosi with 1 million Iraqis dead; when will impeachment be on the table?
(7 comments) To the American people, one million innocent Iraqis blood is now on your hands. It is time to hold both Bush and Cheney responsible. The time has come to call for both of their impeachments and ultimately for the both of them to stand trial for crimes against humanity. When exactly will your outrage come? Your silence is deafening.

Saturday, September 15, 2007
To rejoin or not...That is the question
Whatever decision I make will be personal. However, I will continue to be independent in my prose and will never adhere strictly to one political doctrine. The only thing I will state publicly is that I am an American first and foremost. How I wish most of our elected officials at the federal level felt that same way and in the same light. We would all be the better for it.

Friday, September 14, 2007
Minority Leader Boehner, the loss of life is not a "small price"
(1 comments) Lastly, Mr. Boehner, by saying the loss of life is a small price in relation to this war, you owe an apology to our military and the family members left behind to grieve a lifetime. You owe the same apology to the innocent Iraqis devastated by this war. And incidentally by using uncertain words like "if" you have undercut the military. Good job, Mr. Boehner.

Friday, September 14, 2007
In the spirit of Ramadan, I apologize to the Iraqi people
(4 comments) I will continue to speak out against this heinous war, and I will continue to pray that a leader emerges that will end this carnage. A true leader, who has morals, truly knows and understands the teachings of God, and one who has true compassion and has done so in both words and deeds. I also pray that a leader comes forth who truly knows the harm we have caused you and has the courage of conviction to end it.

What to do about Iraq?: The hubris of the United States Congress
(1 comments) As Congress continues to exhibit their verbal diarrhea deciding what to do about Iraq, each and every American should tell them, the time to leave Iraq is now. This was and still is an illegal occupation of a sovereign country and the sooner each and every one of us wraps our brain around that one, the longer this will drag out. What to do with Iraq? That question only shows our hubris.

Osama bin Laden says he is a martyr? No, he is a coward
(7 comments) I do think that the only significant moment would be his capture. I want for his victims to find a sense of closure as he is tried in our courts, convicted and ultimately faces his just punishment. Maybe then he can fulfill the very definition of a martyr, but for now, he is a coward.

9/11: We all deserve a morning after and must condemn zealotry
(3 comments) To the 2,986 who lost their lives on 9/11, we a peaceful people do mourn you. We must also mourn 3,773 of our troops have been killed since the war began. We must mourn the 676 soldiers that have lost their lives in Afghanistan whose deaths are barely mentioned. We must equally mourn the one million innocent Iraqis who have lost their lives as has been reported.

To Peggy Noonan: What "minority viewpoint"?
(1 comments) At this point, many writers have expressed their outrage at these unending wars and the war in Iraq and we do so in such futility. We keep trying to reach into the hearts and minds of these saber rattlers without any success. We are tired of the rivers of blood and the oceans of tears that has become our modern day world.

Note to Gov. Schwarzenegger: Freedom and liberty means not filling seats
This country has a myriad of issues to address and more importantly solve. It sure seems that the people are being left behind and all I have to say is leave political parties behind. Perhaps, these bozos in Washington, D.C. will sit up and take notice and for once work on behalf of 'we the people'. If they don't they should go find other work.

Personalizing the victims of war and happy birthday, Maria Amin
There is a certain genius in naming these victims since profilers who deal with serial killers often use the name of the victim to make those responsible for kidnapping see them as human beings and not objects.

Bush's War: The illegality and the certainty of death that surrounds it
(2 comments) I want to add by stating to all of these Republican candidates that are comfortable with our presence in Iraq and back this president; how can anyone even think of voting for you if you are backing an illegal action? By all intents and purposes to further this policy you too will be breaking the law.

Israel, stand on your own two feet and stop relying on the United States
(7 comments) In closing to those polled, what I do suggest is that you demand of your government some heavy diplomatic lifting to iron out your differences with Iran. Tell them they are to send a diplomatic force to Tehran and they do not come home until there is a verifiable peace between both of your nations. As an American citizen, I do not want anymore blood on my hands.

A tribute to our nation's laborers
(1 comments) There are just so many more jobs to list and if I have not listed your profession, my thanks goes out to you as well. This is your day and we as a nation must all pay tribute to our nation's workers. Thank you, laborers!

Some politicians need to zip it up and get back to the people's business
(2 comments) To the offending politicians no matter what party who choose to behave badly, all I will say is zip it up and get on with the people's business. That is what you were elected to do in the first place. Do 'we the people' expect perfect politicians? Of course not, but what we crave are ones that are at least trying.

Sgt. Dave Karsnia: "No wonder why we're going down the tubes,"
(2 comments) Instead of being in some lavatory stall allegedly trying to engage in sexual activity, he should have been in Washington, D.C. engaging in ending this madness known as the Iraq War. To Senator Craig, Iraqi children are dying at the behest of this government and how dare you allegedly engage in this lewd behavior.

Shirley Meyer said of Maria Amin, "She won't be going anywhere"
I truly believe that there are angels walking amongst us here on Earth and in my opinion, Shirley Meyer is one. It takes incredible strength and yes faith in one's ability to confront powerful forces especially where a child's life is at stake. In this country, doctors take an oath which states, "First do no harm" and that is precisely what she is doing.

Congress needs to foreclose on the war in Iraq and turn off the spigot
It is time for congress to stop lending our tax money to President Bush. Then again, lending may be the wrong word since we will never see that money again. It is being gobbled up in front of our eyes and this congress time and time again refuses to turn off the spigot.

Terrorists are cowards and get no sympathy from me
(8 comments) Any terrorist that decides to blow him/herself up in a crowded restaurant as was the case in Bali, Indonesia, a subway in London, a busy market place in Israel or fly jets into buildings, in all cases those that took the lives of these innocents are cowards. A brave madman with a bone to pick with those that they are angry with, would decide to take their argument right to the person they have a grievance with.

Paralyzed Gaza girl, Maria Amin is in need of humanitarian help
(1 comments) As reported by the BBC, "Maria was paralysed from the neck down by an Israeli rocket attack in May 2006." The rocket that maimed Maria was aimed and armed and took the life outright of an Islamic Jihad movement. As a result, Maria is now a quadriplegic who is permanently attached to a ventilator.

Lessons drawn from an Iraqi boy named, Youssif
There must be a lesson here when complete strangers will come to the aid of these children of war. They are first brought to our attention by the media and that is when we do react and take a stand against powerful forces that look to rip the humanity from all of us. War after all is as inhumane as it gets.

Paying it forward: Help is on its way for burnt Iraqi boy named, Youssif
As reported by CNN, "users responded by the thousands to the story asking how they could help." That is what makes me believe that there is still some good in this world where folks are willing to pay it forward so to speak. It is where they think outside of self. But, more importantly feel outside of self.

The Iraq War: An American made holocaust
While many of these deaths may have occurred due to the insurgents we are now fighting, we lit the fuse that created this holocaust. Some will write me angry emails telling me not to even label this loss of life as such, but when you have an astounding number of lives lost; what would you call it?

Wednesday, August 22, 2007
Is there a doctor in the house to help a burnt Iraqi boy?
(1 comments) I would also love to know is there a doctor in the house that can help this little boy since CNN reported, "Doctors told the family there is little more they can do to help Youssif. The family can't afford care outside Iraq." I do think that this is the least we can do to help this little boy considering what we have done to his country.

The June Cleavers of this country should have backed Al Gore in 2000
If hindsight is truly twenty-twenty it is my opinion that these Evangelicals namely Baptists bet on the wrong horse if they wanted women home bare feet and pregnant by supporting George W. Bush. They should have backed a man who would have given many women the self-permission and breathing room to stay at home if she believed that running the home was her top priority. That man is former Vice President Al Gore.

Hey, Albany lawmakers, fork over that $320 million in sales tax revenue for better buses
To these Albany lawmakers, who seek to punish Steve Levy and the citizens of this county, please remember that illegal aliens too need transportation if you are seeking to make their lives better. How about we give not only them, but citizens of this county a bus system that actually works?

Uphold the rule of law and do away with 'Sanctuary Cities'
(1 comments) According to 'Lou Dobbs Tonight', "Newark's sanctuary policies protect illegal aliens, even those charged with commission of crimes. Now, one City Councilman is pushing to change the sanctuary policy." Newark, NJ can certainly use a mayor like the Hazleton mayor, Lou Barletta.

Understanding Epilepsy and compassion towards Chief Justice Roberts
End point to this editorial, instead of mocking a man who just suffered a seizure; how about you take the time to read up on this disease? Epilepsy can strike anyone regardless of who they are and at any time. I am sure that those of us who do live with it would love nothing more than an understanding public.

No "victory for all Americans" was had in Hazelton, Pa., Senator Obama
(6 comments) I would first like to ask the fine senator just how this ruling is a victory for all Americans when millions of Americans expressed their outrage when it came to this 'Grand Compromise' piece of legislation.

Will America ever have a 'Network' moment?
(2 comments) Our government is failing all of us before our very eyes and one wonders just how long it will take for Americans to wake up.

Party elites are wrong to bar candidates such as Mike Gravel from debates
(2 comments) One has to believe that supporters of these 'lower-tier' candidates on both sides of the political aisle are feeling great umbrage at these front runners looking to take their candidates out of any debate. In fact, I would suspect that supporters are looking at these front runners seeing the sheer hubris on their part.

A secure nation depends upon the pardons of Ramos and Compean
(1 comments) Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean are still sitting in prison for doing their jobs fighting this illegal drug trade and we need agents like them looking out for our security as a nation from terrorists groups such as al Qaeda and drug terrorists.

Steve Levy leads all by upholding the rule of law
With President Bush's approval ratings basically in the dumpster along with congress whose approval ratings are lower that is not the case with County Executive, Steve Levy who enjoys the overwhelming support of Suffolk County residents.

In sparing Libby, Pres. Bush built an IED that blew up the judicial system
(1 comments) Through this commutation which a full pardon has not been ruled out by President Bush, what he did was spit in the face of that jury and juries across this nation hearing other cases. He (Bush) once again, subverted the rule of law. He might as well have built an IED and blew up the judicial system.

Monday, July 2, 2007
Ramos and Compean and not Libby deserves a presidential pardon
(2 comments) Libby's impending prison sentence would have been served at a Club Med style federal prison which houses minimum security prisoners. Meanwhile Ramos and Compean are serving hard time in which Ramos is housed in solitary confinement so that other inmates do not kill him.

On July 4th, let's Carpe Diem...A lesson from the demise of the immigration bill
(2 comments) Yesterday, those of us who were opposed to this immigration bill put President Bush in his rightful place. We made him irrelevant. Now that is independence. It was our 'Mission Accomplished' moment which will hopefully be recorded in the annals of history.

Paris Hilton shows more class and beauty than Ann Coulter could ever dream of
(10 comments) As Paris sat in that jail cell for 23 out of her 45 day sentence, I am sure that is the place in which Coulter should have been on several occasions. I will give you clear examples as to why.

Suffolk County Executive, Steve Levy wins my 'Founding Fathers Award'
I now hand over my 'Founding Fathers Award' to my County Executive, Steve Levy who is remembering who voted him into office in the first place. Those that voted for him are 'we the people'. He has stood by the citizens of this county ever since he was elected.

The history of coffee as it relates to political debate
The history of our political debate and the information age can be traced directly back to coffee houses which were referred to as "penny universities" where people would gather to discuss not only politics, but religion, poetry and yes, gossip.

More Voices of Katrina
(1 comments) I know that some of these letters are quite lengthy and these are only a portion of the ones that I received subsequent to that original article, but here is my challenge to all of my readers. I want all of you to shut that immigration bill down by calling your senators and telling them that their first duty is to our American citizens first.

The Voices of Katrina

Mayor Michael Bloomberg wins my 'Founding Fathers Award'
(2 comments) I wish to congratulate Mayor Michael Bloomberg for having the courage of his convictions by not wishing to align himself with anyone party. I hope that this starts a trend in which people will awaken that they too should claim their independence from party politics. I hope it serves as a wakeup call to our esteemed politicos.

Life is anything but easy for the 'Big Easy'
It was not only the Bush administration but our government that denied our citizens help in the immediate aftermath of this storm. I should know since I was calling as many of our elected official's offices. Even a receptionist of Nancy Pelosi hung up on me twice when I demanded they accept both aid packages with thanks and grace.

Can you spell Sunburn missiles, Senator Joe Lieberman?
(3 comments) Is Senator Lieberman actually thinking it through of the negative ramifications such a military strike by our nation against Iran will bring about? Right now due to our involvement and occupation in Iraq, we do not have the military ground forces available should this bring about a regional war.

Friday, June 8, 2007
Congress should have debated the Iraq War like they did the illegal immigration bill
(1 comments) I was only happy to see those who backed this horrific bill publicly humiliated. To the presidential candidates of both parties, it is your primary duty to stand on the side of legal citizens of this country. After all, it will be legal citizens of this country who will be going to the polls. My message to congress is get back to work on behalf of legal American citizens.

Pres. Bush must pardon border patrol agents, Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean
(1 comments) Ramos said of her husband that he "is being held in solitary confinement in a 6-by-12 foot cell, without windows. Ignacio Ramos is not being allowed any exercise time, and he is shackled every time he leaves his cell." And is also being segregated from the rest of the prison population which is understandable given the fact he would be killed within those prison walls.

Suffer the children of Iraq, a photo essay
They like American children deserved and still deserve to play instead of running for their lives. Yet Washington, D.C. refuses to hear that. May God have mercy on their souls.

Raymond J. Keating, wrongly targets Democrats in not supporting the troops
While many are angry with the Democratic leadership as I am in handing President Bush a blank-check, the one thing that I do take away from their actions is at least they tried to get our troops out of harms way. At times, I do believe it is the duty of our elected officials to take care of our troops instead of keeping them in the meat grinder known as the Iraq War.

To Pres. Bush and Congress, 3,451 soldiers will never enjoy another vacation
(2 comments) In reading that 3,451 soldiers are now dead, they will never see another vacation as President Bush heads off to Crawford, Texas this summer for his normal one-month retreat from the people's White House. In reading of this staggering number our congressional members will also enjoy their vacations when they are not in session.

Memorial Day is to honor bravery and not to look upon cowards

The $592 million dollar Baghdad embassy built with Washington's approval
(4 comments) This past week, looking at the corruption taking place in Washington, D.C. with Alberto Gonzales, again the illegal wire tapping issue, the illegal immigration bill, this war supplemental bill and again this monstrosity that will house State Department officials in Baghdad, at one point I threw up my hands saying; why vote?

Seven more U.S. Soldiers Died Today

URGENT: Tell the Michigan GOP chair NO to censoring Cong. Ron Paul

Ron Paul correctly labels 9/11 a blow-back

Gov. Bill Richardson's experience proves he has the right stuff

To the GOP: President Bush's legacy and war are not worth saving
(6 comments) The list is endless of how America's needs are not being attended to and have not been for years. If one is to believe that this new Republican Party is controlled by evangelical Christians then all of you do need a come to Jesus realization that this war must be ended and protecting President Bush's legacy goes against every Christian belief that I know.

The turnip-truck government
(10 comments) In the movie 'Forrest Gump', Forrest Gump states, "Stupid is as stupid does" and in the past six going on seven years, I have also come to a conclusion we have a stupid is as stupid does government. Yet, I am supposed to believe that these bozos were capable of pulling off 9/11?

9/11: Challenging 'Loose Change'
(117 comments) It is my hope that in watching that three hour video, by researching the site Debunking911.com as well as these various feeds I presented to you, you may come away with a differing opinion if you have believed all along this was a conspiracy. It is my hope that this editorial is read by the producers of 'Loose Change', Rosie O'Donnell as well as Charlie Sheen.

To the GOP: I still like Ike
If the Republican Party kept to his principles and not veered right, I would still be a Republican today. I highly doubt that President Eisenhower would have approved of the militarization of space, but to feed the needs of America's people.

Could Broadwater LNG terminal become Long Island's cauldron of chaos?
Senator Clinton has long opposed this Broadwater terminal for environmental reasons. But, it got me thinking of what if scenarios should this terminal and others like it be placed within the Long Island Sound.

9/11: Debunking conspiracy theories
(23 comments) In America we do have the right to our own beliefs based upon what we have read, viewed and what has been relayed to us. I do believe that this will be my last column in addressing this issue since I do feel there are more pressing needs to help our fellow Americans such as jobs, health care and many more vital issues.

Congress should deliver the war supplemental bill in a flag-draped coffin
(2 comments) The war supplemental bill should be delivered to Pres. Bush in a flag-draped coffin signifying what this war has cost the American people. Just think of the symbolism if our congress delivered it in that fashion.

Thursday, April 26, 2007
Message to Rudy Giuliani: Are you certifiably insane?
(1 comments) I do believe if Al Gore went onto become our president, he would have paid attention to the Hart/Rudman report on terrorism. He would have paid attention to a counter-terrorism expert in Richard Clarke who warned President Bush of the impending threat of al Qaeda. You would not have seen a President Gore fix the intelligence to meet any plans on attacking Iraq.

Give the gavel to Gravel
(2 comments) I would have loved to have heard more from him. Gravel even chided MSNBC's, Brian Williams stating, "I feel like a potted plant up here," To be honest, not enough questions were posed to this candidate, but to the other well known candidates. Again, it is a case of the media selecting who our candidate will be. It should be the people who decide.

9/11: Does anger at Pres. Bush get in the way of critical thinking?
(18 comments) I am asking is that any article that comes across your monitor stating that the government was behind 9/11 is to use critical thinking.

Nine soldiers dead: Will Pres. Bush and the media care of their deaths?
As many watched the Virginia Tech convocation, we saw President Bush along with the First Lady, Laura Bush in attendance. We heard him speak out of these victims deaths, yet this president has never seen fit to attend one memorial service of any of our fallen soldiers. I guess their deaths mean nothing to him.

Through the Adopt-a-Soldier Now program, you are supporting our troops
(1 comments) Many of us feel powerless when it comes to our concern for our soldiers, yet here is a program in which you can feel powerful. As our troops are deployed for longer tours of duty in which we feel our government is not doing right by them, this is where you can do right by them.

Cable News: I long for the days of "We now resume normal broadcasting"
(5 comments) It used to be if there was a major news story, the networks would break into regular programs with breaking news. They did straight reporting of the facts and did not look to dissect the story similar to a science student dissecting a frog in class. When they had nothing else to offer us, they would say, "We now resume normal broadcasting" and only break in if new events occurred.

How can we restore civility and the art of listening?
(1 comments) Maybe we need a new breed of leadership in Washington, D.C. that can bring both sides to the table in order to make things better for all of us, or maybe we should show our elected leaders by our own willingness to listen. Wouldn't it be funny if we came together leaving the politicians in the dust? Now that idea I find amusing.

Hate Is the Crack Cocaine of Our Society

Do Iraqis equate President Bush to Cho Seung-Hui?
(3 comments) Their terror has gone on long enough. It is not just one day of suffering, hiding behind anything they can to distance themselves from bullets or any number of armaments used in this war; this has been their daily life for over four years now.

Fred Phelps to picket funerals of the Virginia Tech massacre
(2 comments) Where are religious leaders like Reverend Sharpton and Reverend Jessie Jackson? Will they condemn the Westboro Church?

Tuesday, April 17, 2007
Virginia Tech was of human loss and not a conspiracy theory
(1 comments) All that lost their lives, were wounded and responded to this on behalf of all of us suffered a terror that none of us can even imagine. All are deserving of our prayers. There is real human suffering going on in Virginia and we must all think of them.

Message to Ann Coulter: When will you apologize?
(5 comments) Ann, it is about time that you apologize to the 9/11 widows, the victims of Darfur, the people of Baghdad, Anna Nicole Smith's daughter and yes the Rutgers women's basket ball team since you used this tragic case by interjecting what other names could have been used against them.

We must decide who stays on air through the power of the purse
(1 comments) I still feel that Don Imus was singled out in which there are literally many who have had a long laundry list of bad behavior on television and radio similar to Don Imus. Yet people like Limbaugh, O'Reilly and Nancy Grace remain on the air.

Friday, April 13, 2007
In light of Coulter's Darfur remarks, I am reposting this past article
(1 comments) As Coulter spews her hate towards liberals or those with a conscience, the true Godlessness can be found in the Congo.

The Punishment of Imus: What about Coulter and Limbaugh?
(12 comments) Any apology if given frequently holds little meaning and sincerity. After a while it becomes just words without feeling behind it. He is not the first and only one, and will not be the last. But, what he said on his radio simulcast pails in comparison to the many demonic rants of Ann Coulter.

Both Pres. Bush and Congress will keep our troops in Iraq
If I were the Amazing Karnac played by the late Johnny Carson on the Tonight Show, I would hold an envelope up to my head which asks, "Will our troops be coming home anytime soon?" I would then open it up only to find the answer to be "No"

Gonzales justice department will allow a terrorist to be set free on bail
Forget the firing of eight U.S. attorneys at the hands of Alberto Gonzales since the actions of one of his judges is more of a threat to all of us. In this war on terror every single senator should grill him on this one specific issue especially when Carriles was convicted of killing 73 innocent people.

Blow-back: Comparing Saddam Hussein to Che Guevara
In closing, it is up to you to inform yourself how these devastating blow-backs have affected the United States and you as an American citizen. We have used the CIA in Iran, the Congo which led to the deaths of 3.7 million people and in other countries. All of this was done in your name. Now what are you going to do with this information? I hope that you use it somehow.

Do news studios turn broadcasters into Stepford wives?
I think Geraldo would be wise to get out of the studio more and be out amongst the people. Perhaps he will regain his soul and compassion. At times we are all better when we turn off the idiot box and connect with one another.

President Bush, our military deserve a vacation away from Iraq
(2 comments) I do suppose that many across America especially those families whose loved one continue to serve this country with pride do wish they can have a vacation from President Bush. I do believe they want a president who will bring their loved ones back home to them. Our military deserve a vacation away from Iraq. We owe them that much.

A repost of "Our Memorial Day Shoah to Support our Troops"
"Perhaps if we were to keep calling, emailing, faxing the names of real soldiers and what their family life is like, it may be our answer. That is because these politicians will no longer look at them in an abstract way, but as real flesh and blood people with those who do love them."

The Life and Death of a Soldier
(3 comments) When his body came home to her, she claimed it and wanted to kiss his gentle lips once more. She was told his body was not in the condition for her to do just that and the anger and sadness took hold of her. She could not even kiss her beloved husband one last time.

In funding of the Iraq War, supporters have thrown our soldiers under the bus
This is no longer about red versus blue, but about red white and blue. We as Americans have had a long history of facing our greatest fears and confronting them head on. During the Cold War, we stared down the Soviet Union and we are going to let a bully president instill fear in all of us? No, that is NOT the American way.

Message to Congress: Strip the pork but not the timeline
(2 comments) Excuse me as I blow my stack once more as one reads that contained within this bill as reported by the Examiner, "The $100 million for the political party conventions - $50 million for the Democratic convention in Denver and $50 million for the Republican convention in St. Paul, Minn. - is included in a section described as "Katrina recovery, veterans' care and for other purposes."

The 'Choking Game' update: Lives and promises taken by this game
As we all look for high-risk children who are in danger of getting high such as those who may come from broken families, read this, "These children don't do drugs or skip school. They have loving, involved parents who praise their accomplishments and support them when they are struggling."

To President Bush, "You can't always get what you want"
Bush only has less than two more years as our president and perhaps our congress members especially our Democratic ones can best define his legacy by not giving into Bush and NOT pulling that language from that bill.

Edwards and Snow remind us that cancer is an equal opportunity terrorist
In both the Edwards and Snow cases it brings up a topic that I do think that all Americans can get behind. Right now, we have the war on terror, so it begs the question; why not a war on cancer or similar diseases that takes the lives of countless Americans each year?

Bush's ominous statement in 2000: "They have not led. We will,"
Bush stated of the Clinton/Gore administration, "They have not led. We will," Yes, this Bush administration has led all of us into a darkened abyss, a hell hear on Earth and if they continue to get their way, a possible Armageddon. I do not find any pleasure and there is certainly no joke in that.

The Orwellian Clinton ad: Controlled ads versus uncontrolled ads
I feel that his making of that commercial was stupid beyond belief especially when you have those on the opposite side of the political aisle able to make their own negative and controlled commercials targeting Democratic candidates.

Bush, DeLay, Perle and others are collaborators against American People
(2 comments) Instead of listening to the American people they are listening to Halliburton, Raytheon, AIPAC, and other special interest groups who are acting as collaborators against the American people. At times, I think our own terrorists are those who have been given the power over all of us and they do not reside overseas, but legislate in Washington, D.C.

President Bush, the Iraqi people are not collateral damage they are victims
(3 comments) I am sick of the term collateral damage when it comes to their lives being taken and when it pertains to Americans who are killed through acts of terror and hate, we label them victims. That should enrage everyone. The Iraqi people are not collateral damage but victims of these neo-cons who launched their own brand of 9/11 on these innocent people.

Scooter Libby deserves no pardon and Bush should be held accountable
(2 comments) How dare any politician and pundit out there state that Scooter Libby is deserving of any pardon. Any citizen that knowingly breaks the law must face punishment if the American legal system is to remain a constant. If one person is given a pardon after breaking the law then the system itself is broken. A jury's verdict must be upheld and respected and yes even if a juror feels some sympathy towards the defendant.

Message to Jenna Bush: The Congolese children have no hope as they are raped
(1 comments) As we all know the use of condoms is the best way to stop the transmission of HIV and AIDS. One wonders if Jenna Bush through her internship has promoted the use of this birth control measure. If so, the religious evangelicals will not like it since their message is one of abstinence. In some parts of the world when it comes to sex children are raped.

The blonde bimbette known as Ann Coulter
(1 comments) Some would say, just ignore her, but how can one ignore the hate that comes from her mouth? That only allows the hate to fester and grow. At every point, it is up to intelligent people to speak up against such stupidity. And yes, Ann, that is precisely what you are. Stupid!

Can the U.S. support of Israel empower the KKK?
(2 comments) I am extremely concerned when it comes to our support of Israel since I do receive many emails concerning this matter and some of them do border on anti-Semitism or read to me as being blatantly anti-Semitic. Quite frankly that does scare me. Will our continued support of Israel above other nations in the Middle East see a rise in anti-Semitism within this nation that the KKK can exploit?

Supporting our troops is more than a yellow ribbon, but bringing them home
Now is the time for congress to do their job by bringing our soldiers home. It is the job of all Americans to send that message to their respective officials. It is time that we protect our soldiers as they have done so for years protecting all of us.

If we dare to imagine, boomers can become our own greatest generation
(6 comments) While we all were paying attention to the musical prophets like John Lennon who sang "Give peace a chance", there were some boomers who were not on the same page as many of us were. They were the Bill Kristols' whose prophet was Leo Strauss the father of the Neo-conservative movement. None of us foresaw men like this someday controlling our government and they did so to our very detriment.

Selfishly, Joe Lieberman Holds a Gun to Our Heads
(2 comments) In the Star Trek movie "The Wrath of Khan," Spock sacrifices his life for those on the Starship Enterprise. "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few and the one," he told Captain Kirk. At the other end of the spectrum stands Joe Lieberman: "The needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many."

Dare I say that the Patriot Act should be used on President Bush?
(4 comments) In allowing al Qaeda and the Taliban to flourish as well as funding these groups all of which places our national security at risk, dare I say that President Bush, Vice President Cheney and the rest of them have committed treason?
