URGENT: Tell the Michigan GOP chair NO to censoring Cong. Ron Paul

It has come to my attention that the chairman of the Michigan Republican Party will try and bar Congressman Ron Paul from any future debates.  The reason for this is “because of remarks the Texas congressman made that suggested the Sept. 11 attacks were the fault of U.S. foreign policy.”

As reported, “Michigan party chairman Saul Anuzis said he will circulate a petition among Republican National Committee members to ban Paul from other debates. At a GOP candidates’ debate Tuesday night, Paul drew attacks from all sides, most forcefully from former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, when he linked the terror attacks to U.S. bombings.”

To my readers it is not often that I ask all of you that read my pieces to take action, but in this case I am strongly urging all of you to do so.  No matter which party you belong to, America cannot tolerate censorship or disallowing for a difference of opinion.  We must be a country in which everyone is free to speak their mind.  We must not let any party leaders dictate who can and cannot take part in their debates.

What Saul Anuzis is doing is blatantly un-American.  It is akin to McCarthyism which was one of the darkest times in our shared history.  As we all remember shortly after 9/11 happened, President Bush’s former Press Secretary, Ari Fleisher stated, “Watch what you say” and this is exactly the same sentiment being expressed by Anuzis.

We must remind Anuzis and the Michigan Republican Party that Rudy Giuliani does not own that day and it is a shared tragedy to us all.  It is on par as December 7th, 1941 when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and no one owned that day.  It is also on par with the Oklahoma City bombing and no one owned that day either.

In closing, here is the phone number for the Michigan Republican Committee, 517-487-5413.  The office hours are 8:30 to 5:30 and I want all of you to call this number demanding that he cease and desist.  Tell him what he is doing is unpatriotic and we shall not stand for an assault on free speech.  We must remind Anuzis exactly what the United States Constitution means.

I want you also to remind him how patriot blood namely our soldiers has been and continues to be spilled in protection of our right to speak out freely.  Tell him he is not supporting the troops by abridging free speech.

Also, I am asking all to write a letter to the newspaper this appeared in condemning his actions using this email address, stateeditor@thestate.com

Oh hell no.

Representative Ron Paul is a member of the Republican party.   He has chosen to allign himself with thugs, criminals, liars, and scum who consider their party to take a higher role than the U.S. Constitution or the American people.

HE has made that choice, and he (and every other Rethuglican out there) can live with that choice.

By CHOOSING to be a Rethuglican, he has CHOSEN to be identified with and led by scum, which makes him scum.

ALL RETHUGLICANS ARE SCUM.  Any who claim to NOT follow the scum practices of the Rethuglican Party should LEAVE it, not claim to be better than it, while it continues to destroy this country and everything this country has ever tried to stand for.  There is no saving the Rethuglican party.  These "good Rethuglicans" are no better than the supposed "Good Germans" or "Good Nazis."  STAND UP FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE.

SCREW PAUL and SCREW THE RETHUGLICANS.

Mark served for four years on active duty in the Marine Corps infantry, and was a candidate for a municipal office in 2002. Mark has helped raise awareness of military and veterans' issues, by establishing No Anthrax Vaccine.  His commentary has been carried by such sites as AntiWar.com. He spends much of his free time reading the great minds of the Austrian school of economics, such as Murray Rothbard, Henry Hazlitt, Ludwig von Mises, et al.

That is a childish response

Your response is very childish.  If Ron Paul was placing party politics above principle, then why do you think they would like to ban him?  He is using the Republican Party as a vehicle, as Democrats like Gravel use the Democrat Party, to try to change things as best as he can.

Have you notice any media attention given to any third party or third party candidate in anything?  If Ron Paul was running as an independent, he wouldn't be heard at all.  And the Democrat Party doesn't have a much better track record.  In fact, what the establishment is hiding when they point out Ron Paul's differences with the other candidates is that Ron Paul is also different than the Democrats, unlike the establishment Republicans.  Ron Paul is more hated by the neocon think tanks than is Hillary Clinton, or Barack Obama, both of whom vote for war funding.   Ron Paul wouldn't exactly be welcome in the Democrat Party, either.
