The Truth Just Keeps Getting Truer and Truer

The truth finally comes out: Iran halted its nuclear weapons development in 2003. Flash! The truth just got a little 'truer'. Suddenly, we go from an emergency-lead-up-to-bombing-Iran footing to an "it-was-all-just-a-false-alarm" (except maybe they might still do it, so we need to be ready to bomb them anyway) footing.

Is it just me, or has this gone from already alarming now to an emergency need to remove Mr. Bush et al from office ASAP?

This kind of display of malfeasance, disguised as another routine intelligence gathering mistake, makes one cringe and wonder what kind of a man this is that we have at the helm with his itchy trigger finger on the nuclear button, who, in his psychosis seems to be a hair's breath away from creating minimally a "national terrorism emergency" and possibly World War III? A lot of us keep wondering when he will declare himself generalissimo and dictator for as long as he shall deem necessary?

This morning I saw the "President"'s news conference in which the question was asked 'how can the US have any credibility left after the recent saber rattling, in light of this new evidence of no weapons program?" Mr. Bush had the effrontery to, with a straight face, claim that it was HIS reforms of the intelligence community which made the CIA finally able to tell the truth and come clean with this knowledge and give the American public its 'right to know'.

I couldn't believe it. I thought "my God what a lying, floor-flushing sack of stuff this guy is. Just a few days ago he was on his hobby horse bucking up and down just screaming like a chimp readying itself for a raiding party, calling, screaming for Iran to be threatened with bombing, to be sanctioned...oh it was a BIG FAT emergency just two weeks ago...but now, he says " good work fellas...ya wuz able to tell we didn't have no emergency 'cuz I reformed you and made you able to finally pony up the truth about this here lack of emergency...yup, yup"

How stupid does he think the public is?  I guess pretty stupid. After all, we elected him TWICE, knowing he was a lying, prevaricating, sociopathic, blameshifing, jingoist war-mongering piece of work...51 percent of our moronic population re-elected this man.Can you imagine? RE means TWICE. Well, first time he was appointed by the Supreme Court. But in any case, I guess Mr. Bush is spending his political capital and feels authorized to insult our communal intelligence, such as it is, whatever is left among the American public.

The only slightly comforting fact is that almost half of us DIDN'T vote for this chimpanzee. But that is scant comfort, a broken country and a few trillion dollars in debt later. And the damage just keeps on piling up, seeing we will all of us, guilty or not, be paying forever the national debt and paying for the harm this liar is doing on all fronts to our economy, our country, our people, our reputation (what's left of it) and our ability to do anything but evil in the world. When a true emergency comes along, nobody in the international community will believe us anymore.

Bush/Cheney cried 'wolf wolf war war' too many times and killed over a million people in a trumped up war to boot. But that was just "an intelligence failure' (wasn't Bush Administration's fault, it was that stupid ol' CIA)....I want to let out a primal scream: GAAAWWWWDDD! Why is this idiot still in office?

Someone should thank God and the courageous journalists who allowed this new, truer truth to come to light. Thank heaven above for whatever CIA whistleblower let this story out. If it had been up to Bush/Cheney war-monger cabal, the public never would have known about this latest version of the official facts. These war-cowboys would have continued to make the case to bomb Iran, had they had their way.

If this doesn't tell you that something is seriously amiss in this Administration, I don't know what will. Somebody ought to take the Bush administration, lock-stock-n-barrel by the scruff of the neck and hand them over to a war crimes tribunal in the Hague, just like what was done to Milosevic of Serbia; just hand them over for prosecution.

The US should not be in the grip of this rogue president and vice president with their continual lies and saber rattling.

The Tokyo-Rose mainstream media is just treating this as a 'blip on the radar screen' instead of the screaming headlines about presidential lying and war-drum-beating. The press seems to want to cover this up and put the public back to sleep as soon as possible.

Someone please tell me why this jackass president hasn't been impeached, including the hand-rubbing, sidewinder, 'Evil Dick Cheney' to boot. And Karl Rove as a bonus should be called out of his revisionist retirement to be called on the carpet too.

Why are we still wasting a million dollars a minute on the national debt with no end to more wsste on the Iraq war in sight? What are these villains still doing in office?

Which part of our mafioso, one-world-government-Bildeberger power elite is protecting and directing these idiots in their efforts to bust our country down to the ground?

Who are the captains of power, traitors all, who continue put oresidential puppets Bush/Cheney up to this kind of skullduggery?

Clearer and Clearer Truth

Another good article, John. When Bush opened his mouth this morning, you could have driven a truck through it, maybe even a whole war.

Another lie becomes just 'another mistake'.

Thank you for the kind comment.

I can't believe how this guy can get caught in a major act of wrong doing, like bronco-busting for a war with Iran, and then when his main pretext gets shot down, he has the gall to say it was his 'intelligence reforms' that made it possible to identify the "mistake".  He knew all the time he was pushing for war that there was no weapons program. He had an intelligence assessment telling him this way in advance of all this warmongering. But he skips nary a beat and just smoothly jumps from being caught in a majorly potentially destructive lie campaign for war to a smooth spin about how his reforms made it possible to 'catch the mistake'. What a snake this guy is. An absolute snake.  This is a repeat of what he did to get us into Iraq with all the attnedant misery going on surrounding that mess forever and ever into the future, misery as far as the eye can see. WHY didn't someone bust his bubble before Iraq? They knew Saddam didn't have WMD's ..but the press went along, the CIA went along....they did NOTHING to avert disaster in Iraq...now at least someone let this out before this idiot could  pull the same bait and switch leadup to  war again like he did in Iraq.  Why isn't the press all over this thing? Why are they so hum drum about it? This is a major bit of felony that Bush-Cheney pulled, trying to strike up another war...why isn't the country OUTRAGED and demanding impeachment proceedings? Are we so beaten down that all we can do is say 'oh well, what do you expect from this man?"  Are we that far gone we can't even demand answers anymore?

Fool Enough People All The Time

Americans may allow themselves to be fooled by President Bush's warmongering-for-nothing 'gaffe' but other countries aren't. I see that China said today that this 'CHANGES EVERYTHING.' We won't get other countries to go along on sanctions now nearly as easily because they know they were about to be 'had' on them this time. Fool me twice, shame on me. The US wont get others to follow our lead or our asking for sanctions anymore very easily. Bush has fouled our nest for us by his false pretenses and being hot for trumping up another war.

Sex, Lies and Video Tape

I guess the Republicans are just better liars. They set up the FCC rules so the news is commandeered by a few large corporations. Then they in one fashion or another turn most of the Democrats into Republicans. The manipulated news keeps the general public in the dark by just not reporting on issues of substance. If they do cover anything contradicting their point of view, they slant it to look the way they want. Remember the way they manipulated former Vermont Governor Howard Dean’s scream, so he appeared to be the only one doing that. I used to work in sound recording; it’s not too hard to do.

The Lamestream Media as 'King-Maker'

Yes, indeed, The press has become a willing participant in the political process and in censoring out all the news they don't see fit to air. I was appalled at a story about Republican candidate Mike Huckabee on the Tuedsay, December 4th edition of ABC World News Now. This story and the commentary afterwards of the two co-anchors amounted to no less than an ABC News ENDORSEMENT of Mike Huckabee. So I wrote them a letter of protest. It is as follows:

********************************************************************

Dear ABC “News”” :

I watch your program almost every morning because I am up at those times and yours is the only world news on at that time where I live.

Up until now, I thought your reporting was for the most part pretty fair. But you did a piece on Mike Huckabee this morning, December 4th, Tuesday, that I thought was simply just a blatant adovacy piece, a campaign spot if you will, for Mike Huckabee, running for president on the Republican side.

What? Is the right-wing Disney corporation, which owns ABC, SO desperate for Democrats NOT to win or have a chance at the White House that you do anything to search for a Republican you think has more chance of getting votes than the others in the pack? Now that Romney’s Mormonism has become an issue among the right wing evangelical base, I guess Mike Huckabee’s star is rising. Doesn’t matter I guess that Huckabee has a lot of controversy about ‘gifts’ he received as governor of Arkansas. I know  Republicans are desperate to hang on to the White house and so, I guess, is your Disney Corporation simply beside itself to  find some Republican to push that they think has a chance to go 'mano a mano' with the more popular Democrats.  I guess ABC news can’t stant it that Democrats are more favored right now than Republicans in the public mind because the public is SICK of the seven year reign of lies, error and terror foisted on us by this horrible Republican-led government.

I THOUGHT the press was supposed to be UNbiased. Yet I see the mainstream media, ‘anoiting’ on the air, in their stories, certain candidates over the others. The hit pieces (excuse me, I mean ‘news’ stories) ask leading, questions…beg the question that you have no business asking: for example, in your story the ABC news reporter asked the rhetorical question of whether Hillary Clinton is “TOO liberal”?

That is pure reaganite clap trap and a supposedly unbiased news story has no business asking that kind of question. In effect, you are ‘liberal-baiting’ and strongly suggesting what people NEED TO think, rather than letting people make up their own minds. Maybe a more appropriate question in your story should have been,“is Mike Huckabee (or whatever Republican candidate ABC has anointed at the moment) ‘too conservative?’

Let me remind you objective folks there that our country has just been through seven (count them) 7 years of hell with a destructively arch-conservative president and Congress. So can’t you let the political spectrum decide for itself and if wants Democrats in order to balance itself, can’t you stand to let people think what THEY decide, and NOT what you TELL them to think? These kinds of leading questions are biased ‘reporting’ and the blatantly partisan tone of your news story just  confirms my worst fears, which are that all of our main media outlets are owned by a concentrated, very few right-leaning corporations that no longer choose to allow the fairness doctrine to hold anymore like it used to when I was growing up.

Instead these corporations have made themselves “king makers,” and that is SUCH a violation of the principle of a FREE, democratic press. I guess we now have the FCC substituting for the fairness doctrine, “the golden rule” (i.e.,’ whoever has the gold, makes the rules’).

And then the pundits wonder why people are apathetic, non-voting and cynical about our government. It would appear that the ‘Fourth Estate’ (the press), has turned into little more than a shill for the Republican party and is to the right of Atilla the Hun. I hope to God they don’t shut down and censor the Internet, like they have done with television news broadcasts. And it is no wonder that people in the USA are so dumbed down, ignorant and shallow. They have no fair chance to decide issues for themselves anymore, unless they proactively get online and search out ALL sides of issues, often needing to go overseas or to foreign press to get the truth that our US news media simply WILL NOT air or publish because they are propagandists now, not reporters.

Lamestream News

This is worth another article, so I hope you take what you've written here and enlarge on it. The news corps omit, change, slant, lie and scheme to win at any cost. Its no longer about how you play the came. Winning to them is all that counts no matter who gets hurt.
