PIRATES AND NUCLEAR HOSTAGES

by Carol Wolman     Page 1 of 1 page(s)

Tell A Friend

Ever since the pirates, flying the Skull and Bones flag of their Yale club, hijacked the US ship of state in late 2000, the American people have been hostages in a game of nuclear chicken. When he came into office, Bush chose to provoke a new cold war with Russia, in order to feed his friends and relatives in the military/nuclear/oil corporate beast, who need war in order to profit. Each country still has thousands of nuclear tipped warheads aimed at the other, on intercontinental ballistic missiles that can reach their targets within hours. Many of the nuclear tipped missiles are on hair-trigger alert.

We the People, the civilian population of the US, are hostages. We have no air raid shelters, unlike Russian civilians, who have had them since WW II. The Chinese, the third nuclear power, now aligned with Russia, also reportedly have extensive underground shelters in case of nuclear attack. A nuclear attack against the US would find civilians to be helpless targets. The Department of Homeland Security has put no effort toward preparing We the People for any sort of attack, although our tax dollars are paying for the program. The money instead is going toward building detention centers and training local law enforcement and clergy how to control the cilvilian population which survives a nuclear attack. Of course, Bush and Cheney and their friends have underground complexes to live in while waiting out the period of maximum nuclear pollution.

When Bush took over the White House, the Cold War was dormant, if not dead. After meeting with Putin, Bush instituted a series of provocations to get it going again. First, he used the cover of 9-11 to pull out of the ABM treaty of 1972, between the USSR (now Russia) and the US, which put a cap on the nuclear arms race of the first cold war. This left him free to fund the Missile Defense system, an incredible boondoggle that doesn't work, but $63 billion has been spent so far. Now he wants to place antimissile missiles in Europe, close to the Russian border, a very provocative move, which has Russia already retaliating with nuclear armed flights.

In the spring of 2002. the Nuclear Posture Review asserted the right of the US to initiate nuclear strikes against another country which has no nukes, in clear violation of the 1970 NonProliferation Treaty. It is this doctrine which enables the US to threaten pre-emptive nuclear strikes against Iran, a country which insists it has no nuclear weapons program, and which was recently certified by the International Atomic Energy Commission as in compliance with their standards.

Congress has been bribed, blackmailed, coerced into going along with this warmongering program. They have, to their credit, held the line on funding mininukes, but most of the Bush military budget has been approved or even increased. In the wake of 911, Congress ceded its Constitutional power of declaring war to Bush, and even the current Democratic Congress has already given Bush permission to attack Iran, even with nuclear weapons.

The rhetoric about Iran's aggression is heating up, in a repeat of the march toward invading Iraq. No doubt many lies are being told, as they were prior to starting that hapless "war". Iran, however, unlike Saddam's Iraq, has many powerful allies, including Russia and China. It has a strong military in its own right, and also has the capability of projecting terrorist activities around the world, including in the US.

Bush and Cheney have their backs against the wall- see David Lindorff's excellent article "Beware the Wounded Beast" at

www.counterpunch.org/lindorff09052007. The whole world is watching their threats against Iran with horror, knowing that a nuclear strike can easily lead to a freeforall- WW III, with the civilians in the US being the most in jeopardy. The professional military in the US is also horrified, knowing that the armed forces have already been broken in Iraq, and can't handle opening another front. The American people are passive, either not realizing our danger, or too depressed and helpless to mobilize much opposition.

Those of us who have been blogging, marching, lobbying for peace for 4 years are exhausted and discouraged. We can't quit now- the stakes are too high. We should take comfort in knowing we've kept fascism at bay and have built a healthy movement for peace and justice in this country. Bush and Cheney are now piloting a sinking ship- they have no credibility left and the rats are leaving in droves- Rove, Gonzales, Snow. Much of the scare talk about Iran may be bluff, as they have no other option left if they are to hold onto power- their ultimate goal.

We need to focus people's attention on the imminent danger of nuclear war, and then concentrate on the obvious remedy- impeachment of the war criminals. We need to make the American people understand that we are hostages, and the pirates will sacrifice us if they feel it is in the interest of their power game. We have to stop them before they bomb Iran. Impeachment is the only answer.

THE LIVING DEAD AND NUCLEAR WAR CRIMINALS

The commission of a crime does not require its completion to be a crime, merely the attempt to do what is banned, is enough to produce a conviction.

On September 18,1944  a C-47  on  a training flight disappeared. The lost C-47 wreck was found  by a B-24 near Mt. McKinley. The location of the wreck was one mystery, as it was found to have collided with Mt. Deception at the 19,000 foot elevation.

The biggest mystery was that despite an extensive search, no bodies or traces of flesh, blood, hair or body pieces were found with the wreckage or at the impact site.

Deception.htm

While we were entertained by the film "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers," few  knew the truth of what the situation really was long ago. Most today still do not know what the truth is.

The "Truth"  is, we only exist due to the continuing intervention into our world by some as yet unknown high level power.

These High Level Powers have taken into custody certain people from all of the nuclear war fighting states of this planet.

The Extraterrestrials who have intervened are many levels beyond the simple brute forces that have dominated humanity for so long.  By taking military people into custody as early as September of 1944  indicates that they were sending a message to our brute force Dominators, telling them to drop the nuclear weapons and select a new and different strategy.

The Extraterrestrials did not use force to stop the nuclear attacks upon Hiroshima or Nagasaki. Though "ET" disapproved of the nuclear attack upon Japan, they stood aside and watched as our newly minted nuclear war fighting elite committed the most infamous crime ever recorded in the book of history.

Before the end of 1946 it was well understood by those who "Owned" humanity, that to go ahead with a full scale nuclear build up would inevitably lead to the mass extermination of humanity in an all out nuclear war.

Our newly minted nuclear warfighting elite jumped at the chance to finally shut us all up once and for all.

As our first generation nuclear war fighting elite grew old and fell over, their children then took up the task of carrying forward with the "Master Plan" to use nuclear weapons to immolate humanity. As the second generation of nuclear war criminals themselves grew old and fell over, their grandchildren stepped up to the plate and took their turn  and decided to  try their hand against the Extraterrestrial intervenors, and see if they themselves would be the ones to finally kill us all in a  full blown nuclear conflagration.

Thankfully, the "ET" are still here. If they were not here, neither would we be  here. Instead, at this time, we all would be dead. Turned into nuclear waste to satisfy our nuclear war fighting elites  "Strange Love," for us.

We now learn that a B-52 bomber "Accidentally" flew with nuclear armed cruise missiles through the center of the country. The 6 cruise missiles could have reached both coasts to drop their deadly payload.

Was this another "Attempt" by the grandchildren of our original nuclear warfighting elite to get a general nuclear war underway?

When our nuclear war fighting elite refused the request of the Extraterrestrial powers to stand down the plan to exterminate humanity and destroy the planet, with nuclear weapons, the "ET" "Grabbed them by their Electrons," and have held them down from launching a full blown nuclear war ever since.

Our nuclear warfighting elite have "Bet it all" on their ability to kill us all ; before we figure it out.

You may remember the 1968 movie The "Night of the Living Dead," well, that is us.

We are truly "The Living Dead."

How many generations of  nuclear war fighitng elite can we stand?

Do we feel that 'Lucky?'

A Good Day for Peace

Can the War Machine be Contained?

By LAURA SANTINA

Today is a good day to begin to end war. It is a logical and timely day because we have run out of enemies.

Iran's record has been cleared by the UN regarding uranium usage, so we don't need to bomb them. North Korea is shutting down its atomic programs. The only countries with nuclear weapons, besides ourselves, are those we approve of. We are no longer in a face-off with an equally powerful nation state, like Russia, bent upon our destruction. Our current adversaries are clusters of disgruntled people with improvised explosives and suicide bombs. Surely, all the imagination, science and muscle that created the mighty American war machine could be reprogrammed to negotiate mutual agreements of peace with such irregular forces. Or can it? Perhaps the war machine has taken on an all-pervasive, self-perpetuating life of its own and cannot be curtailed.

Long before 9/11, President Bush declared that his comprehensive defense policy goals would include "creating the military of the next century." Had he instead focused on "creating the peace of the next century" instead of building super war toys, we may have had garnered the cultural intelligence we needed to prevent 9/11. The Bush administration substituted code phrases like "war on terrorism" and "bringing democracy" for military domination of the world. Perhaps if "Expand Empire" had been listed as an option on ballots, things wouldn't have gone this far. Perhaps if the plan had been openly discussed by military recruiters, Human Resource folk in weapons labs, or politicians - especially politicians - we could have quelled Godzilla in his infancy.

Unfortunately, the pervasive veil of secrecy prevailed and the corporate war machine continued to lobby both Democrats and Republicans. In Bill Clinton's first year of office, despite his campaign rhetoric, arms sales doubled. It was Clinton who initiated an illegal nine year bombing of Iraq and the wars in the Balkans.

It was, however, Bush's preemptive war on Iraq that swamped the national attention and somehow, before we knew it, the mighty war machine became the driving force of our economy. We don't manufacture anything any more except weapons and high-tech weapons systems. Hundreds of thousands of us depend on some arm of the war machine for our jobs. The military-industrial complex controls the largest bloc of industry in the US. More than one third of engineers and scientists in the US are employed in military related projects. Forty US firms account for sixty-three percent of the top one hundred arms sales in the world. Shipbuilding and aerospace industries are dependent upon arms sales and military spending.

There are over one hundred thousand civilian contractors in Iraq working for companies like Perini Corp. and URS Corp. (majority-owned by Richard Blum, Dianne Feinstein's husband), who provide technical and construction services for the military. A tangled web of government/corporate corruption is significant in the build-up of the war machine. For instance, Dianne Feinstein was chairperson of Military Construction Appropriations when the multi-million dollar Perini and URS contracts were awarded.

Besides the one hundred and sixty thousand people in uniform and thousands of support personnel, fifty thousand private security forces are deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Untold thousands of low-income, young women work as prostitutes serving each of the one thousand overseas military bases and six thousand bases in the US and its territories. There is no end in sight. DARPA, an agency of the Defense Department, is girding for twenty and more years of war. They are working cooperatively with Silicon Valley companies to develop more-realistic prosthetic limbs, drugs and aircraft carriers in the sky.

Our economy is so dependant upon war, our culture so soaked in war propaganda, that we suffer a self-inflicted blindness which distances us from those continuing to suffer the day-to-day brutalities of war. We can't pay much attention to the thousands of war refugees who continue to be driven from their homes and who live in destitute make-shift camps around the world. We can't think about the thousands of soldiers and civilians, including many, many children who, if they live, are left without limbs or organs and carry traumatic baggage that hammers them, sometimes for the rest of their lives.

War has pervaded our culture. We think, talk and dream war. Graphic violence in our entertainment industry continues to escalate. The increase of TV violence after six years of War on Terror was succinctly documented by Margot Pepper in a recent Berkeley Daily Planet article. The American Psychiatric Association claims that,

"viewers become more desensitized, fearful . . . they identify with the aggressor and the aggressor's solutions."

So what can we do? An insignificant place to start might be to shine our flashlights in the war beast's eyes. Light up his whole body with words, music, pictures, whatever we've got, for all the country and all the world to see. Surely if we can see how he's got us under his spell, we'll want to pull free. Otherwise, we have to keep doing what we do, like stepping up the pressure on the reconvening Congress. Somehow we have to loosen the grip of the rightist Democratic Leadership Council (including Bill and Hillary Clinton) on the Democratic Party which, along with media, has distanced itself from Dennis Kucinich, the only competitive candidate calling for immediate withdrawal from Iraq. We must entice the Democrats sitting around with their calculators muttering about the election, to action.

We must continue to call for impeachment. Despite Nancy Pelosi, we must stay focused on the impeachment of Cheney and Bush. Impeachment is one of the few tools we have to defocus the administration from its wars, defer an attack on Iran and demonstrate to children that we are responsible for our actions.

Somehow we must push the debate away from whether or not the Iraqis are pulling up their socks to whether we really want to live in the grip of endless war. Historically, we've never really embraced world peace as a desirable option. Imagine the possibilities if we actually tried.

If we stay the course and we are very lucky, many local, congressional and presidential candidates will emerge or current contenders will find new voices, people with the vision, courage and the honesty necessary to take on the task of whittling at the war machine. More than our lives depend upon it. The task is formidable, but the beast can and must be minimized, re-sculpted, regulated, turned around. The rich, testosterone-drunk adolescent has run out of enemies and is suffocating itself -- and us -- in its own regurgitation.

Need to know, need to do -

Yes, and we shouldn't be leaving it to God to judge the good or ill of the souls of Bush and Cheney and all those who have aided and motivated them.

And we shouldn't be waiting fearfully to see whether in our name they will cause further wars with any other powers large or small.

We should be recognizing these criminals as the enemies of us all that these vermin really are, and not marching or trembling, but pounding the White House and Congress to dust, together will all who inhabit them.
