The last article I did produced some stir, as it dealt with the decision by Faux News to ban Ron Paul from the upcoming presidential debate in New Hampshire. Most of the responses were supportive as this is a travesty. That any news agency, let alone a fake one, would purposefully try and influence the outcome of a presidential election has to be unacceptable for all Americans.
But toward the end of the comments I was attacked for "sloppy reporting" by a Mr. Westmiller, who claimed that Paul was not being excluded from the debates at all! Well, all is fair in propaganda I guess. Not only is Paul being excluded, as I correctly reported, but ABC may also be blacklisting him as well. Here is a link for those who ought to check their sources before accusing anyone of sloppy reporting:
ABC seems to be applying fairer standards but why can't the American people hear all the opinions? Paul is still leading in fundraising, so why exclude him? Fox’s lame excuse is they do not have enough room in their trailer...I kid you not. An alleged media giant can only afford a trailer that fits five candidates comfortably. They have enough room for Fred "I don't really want to be here" Thompson, who has been in for a month and has done NOTHING, but not for the top fundraiser in the pack.
We all know why there is such bias against Dr. Paul. It is because he represents something other than the script the other guys will be reading off of. He would have been the only GOP hopeful talking about NOT blowing up the world, true fiscal discipline, and restoring civil liberties. Can't have that on Fox where they pretend to report, but they have already decided. Instead now we will be regaled with tales from the five would be tyrants who all believe they can more efficiently bomb Iran. They will spin yarns about how we need them to protect us and how the democrats are all spineless wimps because they do not lockstep to the war drumbeats and thrashing of our civil liberties. Most important to Fox News of course, is that they get to present their view of the Republican Party unblemished. They get to present the neocon vision as the only articulated platform for the GOP. No more uncomfortable post-debate polls showing how Ron Paul handily defeated their host of war-mongering candidates. Sean Hannity will not have to exclaim how Paul backers somehow rigged a poll. Fox gets to draw the sharp delineation they have been seeking. It is either the big brave republicans or the wimpy ole democrats. Nothing in the middle folks, nope, nothing to see here. Move along and cast your vote for one of our pre-selected candidates.
I guess some might be confused as to why ABC has hopped along the un-American express? I mean, everyone knows Fox is biased but ABC is “mainstream”, right? WRONG. The corporate media is the corporate media. The true damage Fox does is to make other corporate media appear more central, when they are in fact just as in bed with the machine as Fox. ABC might cave quicker to pressure though.
I suggest a call for a boycott of all advertisers for Fox and ABC unless they rethink their decision to subvert the democratic process. If someone could link how we could do that, it would be very helpful. Maybe hitting them where it hurts will help. Ron Paul is not Duncan Hunter. He has the largest support base and has raised the most money than any candidate in the GOP field. His appeal has now crossed party lines and his message is starting to resonate with the public. They have tried to ignore him. They have tried to scoff him off the stage. Now they are just getting desperate. It is time we rose up and spoke against the rigging of our presidential electoral system.

MANCHESTER – Republican presidential candidates Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney yesterday agreed to participate in the WMUR/ABC/Facebook presidential debates just three days before the primary Jan. 8.
They join fellow Republicans John McCain, Mike Huckabee, Ron Paul, Duncan Hunter and Fred Thompson in officially agreeing to the debates scheduled for Jan. 5 at St. Anselm College. The forums begin at 7 p.m.
So I think you're incorrect.
I didn't see any mention of exlusion on Paul's website.

If FOX Dumps Fred Thompson, they'd have room for both Ron Paul AND Duncan Hunter! I mean, if space concerns are your first priority, there's a TWOFER!!!!
Seriously... both FOX and ABC are exposing for the voters exactly how biased and influenced by Big Coproate Political pressure the media has been for a while. The ONLY reason to exclude ANY candidate is if he IS NOT RUNNING!!! There should be no criteria in a free and fair election for any type of exclusion. This is a contest of IDEAS and plans for the future of America. The Media in general, and the TV Networks specifically, seem to want to run their election coverage by the rules of their ENTERTAINMENT DIVISIONS! Of course, that's not surprising, since years ago they all gave up any independence in their News operations and folded them into the for-profit Entertainment divisions of the corporation!
Now, we get elections treated as if they were just as important (or less, in fact) than the new season of 'American Idol'. We are not viewing a spectacle, a sporting event or a sitcom here. This is not a popularity contest akin to a beauty pageant or a singing competition. We are now conducting a JOB INTERVIEW for the most important job in this country- perhaps the world. You don't disqualify a job applicant solely on the basis of how many people are rooting for him. You interview EACH person fully, and give them time to make their case. Then, and only then do you decide who is the best person for the job.
How can we allow private corporations to decide the criteria to allow ANY candidate's voice to be heard? Hitler was the loudest voice in Germany in 1933. He had the biggest support, and the most organized political machine. Was he REALLY the best person for the job? Or did his allies in the German Media squelch all opposing views and deny legitimate candidates the opportunity to be heard? Don't laugh... the same forces that censored free speech in Germany in 19333 are at work here in America in 2008! Big corporations who owned the media in Germany didn't allow opposition to Hitler, since he was 'their man' and promised to allow them to continue making a lot of money- no matter what.
The question is now, in America in 2008, do we allow the richest, most powerful corproations in America to decide for us which Presidential Candidates we are ALLOWED by them to hear, where we may see them, and how often we will see the candidates THEY favor (who will promise them continued profits!). Ron Paul talked about fascism coming to America recently, and the Big Money media types pooh-poohed him and laughed about it. Apperntly they feel the joke is on the American people! It may be in a velvet glove, but the iron fist of fascism smashes free speech just as surely as if it were naked and above-the-radar. A smiling face and soothing voice will prove to be the perfect mask for a corrupt and malleable media, which pushes the agenda of it's multinational arms-dealing owners over the will and interests of the American people on a daily basis.
Wake up now, America, to the con job being played on you. Or else wake up tomorrow in a country you don't recognize, to a government you can't get out of your life, and a trust of corproations who own everything you have but your soul..

I would think that by now, being forbidden from appearing on the Faux News Network would be considered a mark of distinction, a sort of confirmation of one's personal integrity.
ABC is hardly more credible than FOX in view of their contributions to the Bush regime's propaganda dissemination.
Neither should be considered to be anything other than a manure spreading machine.

The greatest feat in Dr. Paul's amazing performances may not be what has been witnessed by the masses, but what has been hidden from them. For this record breaking candidate has attained this profound notoriety while being virtually censored by every major news establishment, including the Republican party.
Ron Paul is certainly the most magical presidential candidate in the race by far. Yet, he owes his accomplishments to genuine transparency and honesty, not sleight of hand. If he fails to produce a top tier finish right before your very eyes, it will only demonstrate that the prodigious conjuring of the American media has trumped him with a spellbinding illusion that he was simply no match for. Wake up America.....
Take the poll...Is Fox fair and balanced?
As Dr.Paul notes the markets have the ability to bring about change. Before reading this article I posted a similar article upon you tube, however as I said in that message it is not sufficient to boycott just fox news we need to boycott all news corporation holdings. We also need to stuff the e-mail in boxes of News Corporation, fox news, 20th century fox, direct TV act... Moreover we need to post this message on as many sites as possible we also need to e-mail those that advertise on these outlets that if our consumer demands are not met that we will boycott the products of those whom advertise with news corporation. I believe that in fact the advertiser's will probably be able to apply far more pressure on News Corporation than we can.

Those in Power in this nation weather it is political, corporate, and religious or otherwise are in power because too many people do nothing. As much as I commend blogging for disseminating a message that flows against the torrential currents hurled by the mass media, the best way to effect change is to infiltrate the instruction you wish to change just as they have. I.E. start stacking the deck back in our favor instead of theirs. Go join or start a political party any political party run for a local office attend town hall, city council meetings. Dwight D. Eisenhower put it thusly:
"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition
of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the
military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of
misplaced power exists and will persist.
We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our
liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted.
Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper
meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with
our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper
together."
The one thing he left out of this speech is that it is not sufficient to be an alert and knowledgeable citizen we must be active in the councils of government to cause change. The only thing required for evil to trimputh is for good people to do nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I looked at the list of sponsors for Fox, I was initially disappointed not to find companies we buy from. I felt silly declaring a "boycott" on Toyota, for example, since we never bought one and probably never will.
BUT...LL Bean was on the list, so I had my fiercer-than-me husband call and give them hell. We are/were really good LL Bean customers, too, so I'm sure they felt sore about this. (Probably not, but I like to think so.)
Happy to report that LL Bean told us they've been pretty busy with people complaining and boycotting on behalf of Ron Paul. This is the first boycott of my life, and it's fun throwing all the LL Bean catalogs in the trash.

Once again, I am glad Paul is being included. It is totally
irrelevant what I think of him as a candidate in that regard and I think you will find most of the regulars here at OED think the same.
Somehow, we have to find a better way to do this whole nomination/debate process. Again, I understand, in a way, some of the idea behind what ABC and Faux were attempting to do. But it is still wrong in its execution. There is no reason to start excluding candidates mid-race before a single state has held its contest.

Paul remains banned on the Fox debate. The ABC one might be a matter of how Paul finishes in Iowa. If i read the comments from ABC correctly, they are considering banning anyone who doesnt finish in the top four in Iowa, as well as some polling considerations. I could be wrong, but there still could be a chance Paul is banned on ABC as well.

you can not bring video cameras or recording equipment, of course DIEBOLD will be in process so how you are able to record a rigging, they very well thought of all the details how to steal an election, big bussines just hate to loose. first they lie all year long about his low poll numbers, call him a spoiler, even in the last cnn interwiev called him last in the pack and fox even so arrogant they just drop him off their forum because they the one(MSM) whoom operate their DIEBOLD voting machine, unless 3 to 1 in excess will turn out people for ron paul this revolution is over because beating a MSM programmed DIEBOLD takes lots of ron paul supporters

Frankly I am a fan of both Paul and Kucinich. I don't agree with all of their views but at least both of them will tell you the truth and where they stand w/o hedging.
The fact that both have been banned from debates is disturbing.
There is supposed to be a PBS program on this friday where both Pual and Kucinich are to talk about this issue.

Judicial Watch Announces List of Washington’s “Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians” for 2007
Washington, DC –Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, today released its 2007 list of Washington’s “Ten Most Wanted Corrupt Politicians
8. Senator Barack Obama (D-IL): A “Dishonorable Mention” last year, Senator Obama moves onto the “ten most wanted” list in 2007. In 2006, it was discovered that Obama was involved in a suspicious real estate deal with an indicted political fundraiser, Antoin “Tony” Rezko. In 2007, more reports surfaced of deeper and suspicious business and political connections It was reported that just two months after he joined the Senate, Obama purchased $50,000 worth of stock in speculative companies whose major investors were his biggest campaign contributors. One of the companies was a biotech concern that benefited from legislation Obama pushed just two weeks after the senator purchased $5,000 of the company’s shares. Obama was also nabbed conducting campaign business in his Senate office, a violation of federal law.

Obama purchased a strip of land adjacent to his home for which he paid market value. The fact that he purchased it from Tony Rezko has been one of the most ridiculous goose stepper gotchas to come down the pike.

So to any student of history what's going on now is familiar and not a surprise - particularly considering the swing of this country towards fascism in the past eight years. It's like they're following the Hitler guidebook. "First control the means of communication" is thoroughly done and done. Anyone who talks about a Liberal Media in this country is just repeating the endless brainwashing refrain and ignoring the facts.
The United States Media is in large part controlled by the same people who control the government... the corporations. The United States is a government of the People, by the Corporation, and for the Corporation.
The idea that the United States is a democracy has always been false. We were once a Republic, which is quite different. There are few true democracies in the world.
We are now an oligarchy and will probably soon see a fascist dictatorship cleverly disguised as a democracy through control of the media... if we aren't seeing that already.
Folks the decision is already made. The electorate votes in the President, supposedly, not the People. And now they can cover their tracks with receipt-free electronic voting machines which are as easy to hack as opening an Excel spreadsheet and typing whatever numbers you want.
Nothing will save the United States now. The People are too ignorant of all of this and too asleep.

Ron Paul wins Iowa while Mitt cries, Huck lies and lies, Rudy retreats South, Tancredo quits and Fred sleeps. Except for Dr. Paul, "[t]here's not a dime's worth of difference between" Republicans and Democrats. The Democrats willingly went along with the War in Iraq, suspension of Habeas, banning books like "America Deceived' from Amazon, warrant-less wiretapping and the PATRIOT ACT. They are both guilty of treason. Time to take sides, fellow patriots, you're either for liberty and Support Dr. Ron Paul or you're against liberty and damn us all.
