From Coast to Coast and Border to Border various and sundry efforts are being made to rein in the Bush Administration from insane reckless war and rhetoric of war, from torture and from a dismantling of the Constitution. . All of these efforts are noble in purpose but have the effect of a rag doll against the brutal force of the powers that be. Main stream media refuses to cover the resistance unless it can ridicule or treat it as being orchestrated by deranged extremists. MOVEON.ORG raises millions of dollars to wage it's battle against repressive actions of the so-called conservative government but in doing so is simply playing a political game in the same tradition of yesteryear when what is needed is a complete overhaul of the elective system and an assertion of the power of the people heretofore unseen in the USA. The system is broken and needs to be fixed! In Europe and South America thousands of people can seem to swarm in the streets at a moments notice when an issue of vital importance is at stake. Even illegal aliens can organize and march in the streets of America on short notice when an issue affecting them is at stake.
But in America, citizens dumbed down by media, Monday night Football and silly entertainment on the Tube are unable to rise to the level needed because their life style keeps them in ignorance. This leaves the few who are aware of the hijacking of America to struggle in multifaceted and largely in-effective ways to bring truth to the light of day and justice to those who support injustice.
I propose that a major uniform action be adopted as an approach to effectively dismantle the Bush/Cheney administration and that part of Congress which supports it.
We need to attack criminality of members of the Congress both House and Senate who have voted to support the illegal and criminal conduct of Bush and Cheney which makes them accessories before and after the fact. But for their support the Administration could not have gone where it has. When the legs go out from under the structure it has to fall just like the twin towers on 9-11!
First and foremost, an immediate assault by we the people on the Congress is essential. Every act of the Bush/Cheney cabal in engaging in illegal wars and/or striping the Constitutional protections to citizens and non citizens as supported by members of the congress are criminal acts. Those members in complicity with Bush and Cheney on these issues have committed crimes of treason against the Constitution, (a document all officials in America Have sworn to uphold) Bill of Rights (which is part of the Constitution) and crimes against humanity. Therefore each member of Congress either of House or Senate who have heretofore supported these crimes are accessories and need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law by way of petition to the Attorney General of each of the States which he or she represents.
I suggest that each citizen repeat that same process weekly for as many times as it takes to get the State Attorney General(s) into action. If he/she doesn't act within thirty days, then a petition for recall of the State Attorney General for dereliction of duty be filed and acted upon. A form for that petition is available from each Secretary of State’s office
Secondly, (1) The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs to be immediately petitioned en mass by We the People to defer from any further escalation of military action as may have been ordered or planned by the Bush/Cheney cabal until the issue of mental capacity of Bush/Cheney be resolved. (2) Bush and Cheney need to be committed to a mental facility for treatment of their pathology of insane delusions. In the interim while the Speaker of the House**acts as President pro-tem, The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs be FURTHER petitioned by We the People to defer from any further escalation of military action regardless of who orders it because we the people are superior to our employee the “Commander in Chief”

If the forms are printed, filled out, signed and mailed (snail mail) to the appropriate persons with copies to media by the thousands or hundreds of thousands, the Congress and the Administration will be buried in the bulk weight of the effort which cannot go unnoticed by media resulting in an awakening of dumbed down citizens and a reversal of the direction of America.
NO MEMBER OF THE CONGRESS (all members having sworn to uphold the United States Constitution) IS IN POSSESSION OF DISCRETION TO VIOLATE THE LAW, INTERNATIONAL TREATIES, THE FINDINGS OF THE NURUMBERG WAR CRIMES TRIBUNAL, THE CONSTITUTION OR SUPPORT CRIMINAL CONDUCT BY THE PRESIDENT AS A POLITICAL OPTION!
**If Nancy Pelosi is one of those to be prosecuted for criminal conspiracy/accessory, the House must immediately replace her with a member who has not supported Bush and Cheney regardless of House rules of succession! We the People will demand it.
As Arthur Shopenauer stated, truth goes through three stages, first ridiculed, second violently opposed and finally accepted as self-evident.
We the People may be ridiculed and violently opposed by the elite plutocracy but in the end it will become self evident that we can be in control of our destiny and we will utilize the law to peacefully accomplish this self-evident fact.

A Solid Proposal, but I have questions
Mr. Wallace it is a good plan you propose. My question is why do we have to send by snail mail? Why can't petitons be signed on line? I have had many petitions come to me to sign, with an attached letter and all I had to do was send it to an already made email address which was my senators in New York State. Also I tried to find your email, and it is not on your website. I wonder why? When I checked out the links to Attorney General you have New York listed as Elliot Spitzer. He is long gone, and Andrew Cuomo has been the acting AG for New York for some time now. I could not get the address to the Attorney General. I do not know how OPEDNEWS message center works, because it says it does not send you an email, so I am left wondering how do you ever know if you get a message? Dom, Having a petition online is a great idea and it will get more people involved. This method can acheive hundreds of thousands to respond. I am all for it. New Broom Coalition
A number of people from various parties are mounting serious challenges to incumbents on an impeachment ticket. We call ourselves the New Broom Coalition. So far there are 11 of us, Cindy Sheehan being the star. If we can take Congress, or at least get enough people in there to hold a controlling bloc of votes, we can turn this around. Yu will find an email address posted on either of the two websites linked to the article. The list of AG's could be outdated in which case it would be up to the sender to confirm the current. Email petitions have no physical weight or appearance and the presence can be ignored and deleted. Not so with thousands of separate petitions showing up at the office of the AG, media etc. by Douglas A. Playing the political games
The purpose for the article is to stir a fragmented resistence into a solid block to utilize the law in bringing down criminals in government. The congress is not above the law. Any and all fragmented efforts could and should combine on this approach so that the weight of the nation is felt by those who prefer to splinter us into manageable groups. More rhetoric and tactics that won't work
What I have learned over many decades of political activism is that if we are to really fix our broken government and restore American democracy we must face the ugly reality that we will never get millions of Americans to carry out actions that take too much time and energy. The vast majority of people are too time-poor, tired, depressed, overworked and distracted to conduct serious actions. We need SIMPLICITY. This is why I advocate a boycott of voting in the 2008 elections for federal offices, and also why we formed Friends of the Article V Convention, to use the option the Founders gave us in the Constitution; check it out at www.foavc.org. What this and literally hundreds of other articles and websites demonstrate is that the Internet is dividing and fragmenting all the people who understand the scope and depth of our problems - but never unite behind a few simple strategies. by Joel S. More rhetoric and tactics that won't work
I agree that Americans are asleep and too busy chasing the dollar to pay bills for an over extended lifestyle. And I also agree that Article 5 would help correct some of the problems we are facing. But the reality is that those who control the Administration and the Congress are not about to allow an Article 5 convention. And with all the talk about a Preemtory right of the people to force such a convention there is no provision for enforcing that right.
Boycotting the 2008 elections will only mean that a handfull of votes twisted and warped by those same powers will put the wrong people in the right places (again) Congress people need to learn they cannot violate existing laws by voting for new laws and actions that violate the constitution and existing laws without the penalty of criminal sanctions for such conduct. It takes far too long for court cases to reach the supreme Court which in the case of the 2000 elections itself violated the Constitution concerning States Rights. Yes we are fragmented in our many approaches so lets get together under a single banner that will work and force the will of the people upon the government. When the congress learns it is answerable to the people it will straighten up! Remember Sonny Bono's statement that he was told to shut up and go along with the crowd for at least two years after he was elected to the House? That is how corruption festers and grows in the system. by Douglas A.
