Those Who Call Obama A Muslim

Tell A Friend

This morning, I received an email from someone who called Obama a Muslim.

I'd guess that hundreds of thousands, even millions of people have forwarded some kind of email, or made some remark in an email about Obama being a Muslim or having been trained in a madrassa.

The truth is that Obama went to school in Indonesia in a non-religious school. He is not a Muslim, never was one. He is a Christian.

Here's my take on who the people who forward such messages are.

First, there are the people who want to believe it and are willing to forward on this kind of message without the most basic fact-checking.

No intelligent pundit or politician or honest, un-bigoted person, including Republicans and right wingers, would EVER forward such a message or make any kind of such statement.

It's pretty simple when you exclude the intelligent, unbigoted and honest people. That leaves bigots, liars and morons.

Now, if you're one of those people, you might want to delve into your self and figure which of these you are.

Okay. I'll add two more categories. First there are intolerant, sodden with the koolaid, right wing extremists who either listen to too much right wing talk radio or who have right wing stupidity bred into their bones, literally. Their parents were right wingers and very possibly bigots too. For some this inherited bigotry goes back for many generations. It's something millions have overcome and risen above. But millions have failed to do so. They are still intolerant, ignorant and full of hate or just plain bigotry.

A lot of you who fit the profile of having forwarded one of these emails, or worse, having started one, probably don't realize you're a bigot. Maybe you're a racist. Maybe you're an anti-muslim, maybe both.

Maybe your priest or minister doesn't like Obama's position on abortion and just threw in the Muslim lie to help sell the idea of opposing him and you've bought that story. Maybe you've even forwarded or printed out pictures of Obama that make himlook like a a terrorist. I've actualy seen printouts like this at a local take-out snack place. I look at the guy who displays these and consider him to be the lowest piece of... life.  Not surprisingly, the same guy also posts blatantly racist pictures that are anti black and anti Latino.  Ironically, his son dates an African American.

Finally, there's one more group of people who forward the messages. These are righ wingers and or bigots who are not stupid, but they think the people they forward the message to are. Or they think the recipients are intolerant bigots. Either way, they are nasty, ugly people. It raises an interesting question. Who is worst, the bigot or the person who panders to bigotry and uses it to promote intolerance and lies to further his cause.

Permission granted to respond to ALL and send this article to groups that have received "Obama is a Muslim" emails.  Don't let the cretins and haters send this garbage out unanswered. There are a lot of people on those lists who are offended by the message but don't know what to say or who don't want to get in an argument. But beware, there are nuts out there. Some of those liars, bigots, morons and panderers will get nasty.  I got the email this morning because some right wing jerk decided to hassle me by putting me on mailing lists.

I wonder why we don't we declare the following

1. If Obama was a Moslem (more correct spelling), Satanist, Judaist,  follower of the Santeria, committed  atheist ( ike  yours truly) or whatever, - THAT WOULD NOT MATTER EVEN A BIT!  The religious affiliation  does not matter for the elected official in this country.  If it mattered we all would be screwed. We are screwed already pretty badly just because this nonsense proceeds.

2. The US Christianity is unlikely to claim  purity.  Everyone who thinks here that they are Christians are up to a surprise- most of the US  so- called Christian denominations are in fact sects, cults  and in the  traditional Christian dogmas are herecies and paganry. This is especially  right about Mormons, Pentecostals  and  US teleevangelists.

I am wondering why we here on OEN do not proclaim the above two statements loud and clear. Obama does not owe anyone any explanations about his religious beliefs. When as a Jew I  had been asked many times if blood libel was true and if we, Jews used  the blood of the Christian babies in matzos I always answered , 'Sure, I know where you live.'  Paranoid nonsense does not deserve a dignity of explanation. It deserves the fear it craves.

Reply: I think I have heard...

Obama accused of being Moslem, Satanist, Santerian and Athiest all at the same time while he was spending twenty years sitting in a pew in front of Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

The people who can and will be picking and choosing from this smorgasbord of deceit and intolerance are the people whose faith is their basis for hatred and their excuse for ignorance.

Reply: I would argue

that those who contemplate such arguments against Obama or whoever, including other countries and cultures are in fact  spiritual terrorists, the people who cultivate hate and as such cannot be a part of any denomination and should be committed to the asylum. Of course, that would mean Bush and Cheney to be the kings of such flock.

Reply: The CHANGES taking place in the United States

Sorry I didn't see your article sooner, but....You couldn't be more absolutely correct. People in this country who claim to attend denominations that teach "Christian" doctrine, have no idea what true "Christian" doctrine is.  For years and years, the so-called "Christians"  have accepted the doctrine that was handed down to them by their parents and grandparents. But this is such a touchy topic to discuss.

Little do people know, the pagan Roman religion was "christianized" by the Roman emporer Constantine, many centuries ago. The Roman religion was completely pagan and to this day it remains completely pagan...only "christian" names have been placed over the "pagan" names. Many ...probably ALL of the Roman church's ceremonies, come straight out of the pagan rites used before, during and after the time of Jesus of Nazareth.  The Roman church is a sham and a scam.  If only its adherents were more curious about the true history of their "church", then by reading the history books, they would find out about the many sordid, foul, and morally degraded actions that the church of Rome practiced...both on its own members, and on its detractors.

Probably the worst of the pagan rites and ceremonies to be listed, is the substitution of the "venerable day of the sun" in the place of God's seventh day Sabbath (the forth commandment Sabbath). This acceptance of the "day of the sun"  comes straight out of paganism, but is widely accepted by most "Christians" as being correct.  Go figure. Most people are taught to be good "sheep"...."Don't rock the boat!", they are taught.  What a bunch of mindless idiots.   Those are my thoughts and comments....Good luck!

Why should it matter anyway?

Other than the fact that Muslim religion has been vilified through our propagandized media, what difference would it make if he were a Muslim, Jew, Hindu, Catholic, Protestant or Atheist? As long as his religion doesn't interfere with his ability to govern it should be a private matter and his own damn business. Or has freedom to worship as you please been flushed down the toilet of fascism along with our Constitution and Bill of Rights?

This is nothing more than another example of just how pathetically trivial our entire election process has become, and nothing more than a sideshow to distract us from real issues.

My real concern is not that Obama may be Muslim, it's more that he's a lying, back-stabbing, murderering, sock-puppet for the NWO. And that's not a rumor that can't be substanciated, that's a GD fact.

Reply: NWO

MR. M, Thank you for your truthful words regarding Obama.  It seems to me that the entire world wants Obama to be our President.  My question is, WHY?   Maybe someone can answer that for me?  As for me, and I would believe, that the citizens of the USA do not want the new government NWO.  Obama is certainly trying hard to convince us that is what we need.  I am a very senior citizen, and love my country and want it to stay that way.  I agree wholeheartedly with your statement as follows:

My real concern is not that Obama may be Muslim, it's more that he's a lying, back-stabbing, murderering, sock-puppet for the NWO. And that's not a rumor that can't be substanciated, that's a GD fact

Reply: A Distraction...

It seems to me that the color and religion cards are being used on a consistent basis, to subliminally distract us from everything that IS important: the lies, cover-ups and denials. Throw anyone under the bus, who may get in your way. The Chicago political machine is corrupt and always has been. That is Barack Obama.

I don't care if Obama is white, black, green, yellow or purple! That is not where the emphasis lies. The fact is, that he is wa-a-ay too ultra-leftist for me and several others, who are intelligent enough to know their politics and to not fall for the guilt complex that you and others try to play on. YOU can feel guilty, but I refuse to, as I have friends of every race, creed and color in my life. I am part American Indian myself (Iroquois) and do not possess the attitude of entitlement that Barack Obama believes all "minorities" are supposed to have. Not one of you can get away with labelling me or any other person who believes in conservative values and beliefs. Be as blind as you may, but you are only fooling yourself. So even "rightwing" individuals who have no bias, are in some way "intolerant"? Think again, buddy.

Facts are all I (and many others who are not Obama kool-aid drinkers) am concerned with:

All presidential candidates are required to present the sources of their donations, yet Obama hasn't yet responded to the letter requesting that information from him.

ACORN, a radically leftist organization known for their voter fraud and for bribing the government to give mortgage loans to those who will never be able to pay them off, was once represented by Obama, as a lawyer. It was the pressure by Obama and ACORN, placed upon the Clinton Administration to enact the CRA (Community Reinvestment Act), that eventually brought on the mortgage crisis with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. ACORN blackmailed mortgage companies like Countrywide and banks like CitiBank, by threatening them with discrimination lawsuits, if they refused loans to those who obviously would not be able to pay them back. "Ninja" loans, they were called; "No Income, No Job, No Assets".

It is fact that Barack Obama is the second largest recipient of tainted corporate (not individual) donations (using taxpayers' money) from both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Ironically, Franklin Raines was Obama's economic advisor, until they realized that he was going to be connected with Obama and therefore, left the campaign. James Johnson was picked to be on the vetting committee, to choose Joe Biden to run for VP on the Obama ticket. Both Raines and Johnson made off with millions before abandoning FM/FM.

I could name several situations where Obama was either corrupt himself or dealt with corrupt individuals -- and not one of them is based on his race or religion, so get off it.

Stop trying to conveniently link issues we have regarding Barack Obama, with racism and bigotry. That seems to be the tactic...whenever there is an issue about Obama that cannot be answered directly, use the race or religion card. It doesn't work; got it?

Who cares if he's a Muslim?

My concern is that when he first started campaigning he was for several things that he is now against. He is without doubt a good person but he has accepted more money from big business than any other candidate. How do you think he defeated Hillary? Money is power.

If I thought he would effect a not for profit health care plan I would weep for joy. If he would end the war and cease wars in general in favor of diplomacy I would rejoice, If I thought that he would find a way to eliminate the lobbyists in Washington, it would be a great day. They are a blight on our government and how they gained so much power is beyond me. They are truly in the prostitute business with all due respect to the real prositutes. If he would decry war and establish a dept of peace I would be happy to cast my vote for him. I will vote for him because how could anyone with a brain vote for Grampa Diapers and the Wicked Witch of the North?

But my heart will always be with Dennis Kucinich and if Obama is really intelligent he will tap Kucinich for his cabinet. Dennis is a true Democrat, meaning for the people, and all of us who can see what a great president he  would be wish that Obama would make use of his giant brain and heart.

If we lived in a true democracy Dennis would have been the candidate for president for every where he spoke the people rose up and accepted everything he espoused. But big business, the msm and the Democratic  Party couldn't stand the truth so they drummed him out of the race.

As I mentioned before I must vote for Obama but with  sadness and the hope that he will search his conscience and be the president we desperately need.

"...but he [Obama]  has accepted more money from big business than any other candidate. How do you think he defeated Hillary? Money is power."

Misleading in the same veign as McCain attack ads. Yes, he has some big donors but his main base organizations are big labor ( representing people/workers ) He has also tapped far more individual internet donor. His wealthy base is from Democrat's wealthy families who have hosted fundraisers etc.  But his donors are not the big oil companies etc. that continue to back republicans to this day.

Obama has received money from more than 100,000 people, including 50,000 Internet donors -- more online donors than his chief Democratic rival, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.), had total donors. ~Washington Post, April 2007

Obama is running a national campaign which is not cheap. No lest costly for him than for McCain but his organization proven to be smarter than McSame...which is a good thing.

You all should understand that whomever you "vote" for, it will make no difference! The world corporate community are the ones who run the world. Today we were told it costs the same to mint a roll of $2 coins as it does for a roll of pennies.

It makes no nevermind what or who Obama is, was or will be, as he has lost all of his strengths by flip-flopping.

He started out saying the positive things people wanted to hear, then the shameful lies began. Now he is trying to say what people want to hear again, and he has ended up on the negative side. So as I said it makes no difference who you "vote" for.

New World Order is here, now! Bush has tried consoling the Chinese with A/:Ameros/ of which we the people of North America have never had a "VOTE" on! Do you find that interesting? How about the Chinese Military on USA soil protecting the Foreclosures of Real Estate which actually now belongs to China?

You'd think someone would have notice how this repeats itsel

You guys are funny. The emails that Obama is a Muslim (btw, the spelling doesn’t matter on the word “Muslim” unless you spell it using the Arabic alphabet. Using Roman letters to write a word in Arabic will always only approximate the pronunciation never the spelling) have been circulating for months now. They always have around 2,000 people cc’d and are forwarded as fast as is computerly possible. The Democrats and the Progressives lament, moan, groan and protest that he’s never been a Muslim and that these emails are wrong. Do you know who’s listening to this truth?? ONLY other Democrats and Progressives. They cry and complain to each other that there are still “a few” who are poorly informed. If they were to open their eyes, they’d quickly see that those who send out the “Obama is a closet Muslim” aren’t listening to the “uninformed Democrats and Progressives.” The people who send these emails out are doing so after meeting their preacher, their prayer group or their one hour of Rush Limbaugh truth talk. They  “know” what’s going on, even if the poor Democrats and Progressives are wearing blinders. It’s almost comical to watch. I get these same emails. I see the five thousand copied each time. I see how they send this to each other to ensure that they are blind like the Democrats and Progressives. Then the Democrats and the Progressives go on “their” sites to lament these emails. They send out tons of articles and emails to each other saying that these are nothing but lies. The Democrats and Progressives make sure that they are well informed on the lies that the Republicans are spewing. The Republicans make sure that their emails with “the truth” make it to all those “who really know what’s going on.”The corporatists are laughing all the way to the bank. They could not possibly draw up a better scenario. They don’t even have to do anything, just sit back and watch the Republicans lie and wink to each other while the Democrats and Progressives complain bitterly BUT ONLY TO EACH OTHER that these are nothing more than lies. Those who “know” Obama is a Muslim also “know” that the Democrats and Progressives are just ignorant of the truth. Those who complain only talk to each other and reassure each other that it’s nothing more than a lie and all will be right once the lie is shown publicly. Gawd, the corporatists must be doubled over in laughter at this and all they’ve had to do was raise the question once.  The corporatists win again. The Republicans repeat the lie to all that will hear and believe it because Rush said so. The Dems and Progressives are smiling that they “may have lost the battle, but they are morally correct.”Rinse and repeat every four years.

Reply: well, if instead of lamenting

at least we here on OEN would have openly announced that  it does not matter what religion the candidate is, we here would have done something real.  And maybe it does not matter much for us here how to spell  the name of the religion  but I can assure you that for those who  follow this religion it  matters a great deal. Try to say Church of the Later- Day Saints instead of the Latter- Day Saints ( just a joke:).  I also would like to  have a word or two to those who call here Obama an agent of New World Order: Please, folks, grow up. There is no such thing.  I, a former immigrant and a refugee and a former homeless tell you: there is no such thing. There is a  global conspiracy of horses' asses but those   know of no order.

NWO

There it is- an NWO guy. This is why he was showcased in the primary debates (if not because he was unlikely to be nominated). Non-NWOs were seldom allowed to talk. Either party.

As for Christians, it takes me two years to verify a Christian; by his actions and not words or snapshots at church. The true key is civilization and humanity, and any major world faith can produce that. I've had no luck lately with White "Christians", thank you.

Those who call

A couple of things. First the relationship between Christianity and Judaism, I consider Judaism to be the foundation and Christianity the edifice built thereon. No one who has a brain in his head should attempt to undermine the foundation with lies and hatred. Secondly Islam is a harsh religion in comparison to Christianity because it is a religion which was created from the harsh conditions of the desert where people have to fight for their existance against a cruel Mother Nature every moment of their lives. Judaism on the other hand came out of the land of milk and honey. Any problems today between Judaism and Islam are created by Zionism, a secular political movement, not be Judaism! Finally I prefer a Christian to be president simply because most of our laws are Christian based. Think about the history of western civilization, in most respects it is also the history of Christianity and therefore has a close association with the culture and laws we live with on a daily basis.

Where I come from

namely, in the reddest part of a red state, I watched those "recyclable" emails early on.  Two subjects: Muslim and Rev Wright came, always in separate posts, but sometimes from same senders.

In the Arthritis Water Aeroblics class I have attended since before Dubya was a declared nominee, I have friends who consider me a person to ask about politics.  One, with a son in Iraq  rising in Army ranks, and I sometimes write each other.  I watched some of those emails which have circled long before Obama became the candidate and kept them in mind for the "dirty days" of October.  She and I don't see each other in person because of changed schedules.  When she sent me one of the Muslim notes, I asked her if she knew where she got it.  She really didn't know where it came from.  And she was very glad I knew it wasn't true.

Now about rednecks in this red district:  Folks here are hurting for jobs, for gas money, for another shoe to drop in the news.  Whether at the senior housing unit where I live, or among those of all ages who are my friends and associates, there is a real shift in sentiment.  They sometimes start by saying they wonder if Obama might win, and others start by coming right out in favor of him.

It's my feeling that many people in this area will vote for Obama.  And I would like to emphasize:  REDNECKS ARE NOT NECESSARILY BIGOTS.  That's the other side of understanding those from Western PA whom Obama described last spring.  NASCAR & NRA, yes maybe.  Church on Sunday, usually.  In East TN there is a low percentage of African-Americans.  Housing patterns are segregated but school and work are more fluid that most of the areas I was familiar with in Chicagoland.

Attack war, full speed ahead

That's word up with the Mccain camp. They have no substance(more of the same Bush policies)  so I guess all they can do is attack. So, Obama is NOT a Muslim, but say he was. I would hope he would fly a plane so far up Dick Cheney's as* that we could end this coup on America.

McCain is a womanizer and a Keating Five thief. McCain is a traitor to America  for the Vietnamese in the VNwar. McCain has 2 to 4 yrs to live. Welcome the woman (Palin) to the POTUS and her specialty of "I can see Russia" foreign policy. Hell, I can see the Chevrolet Dealer from my window so does that qualify me to run the Dealership? Heh heh heh heh heh heh. Just keep repeating KEATING FIVE and that should take care of this Muslim bs.

Btw, have you heard and seen footage of the Assembly of God services that Palin goes to? Talk about radical and scary, talk about resembling satanist worship. Holy moly, it's some extreme stuff.

Reply: Wow...you are in Never-Neverland...

I could name at least 5 e-mails where untrue rumours must have been said about McCain, within your one comment! Sounds like you have the makings for a fictional novel, being that you wouldn't know the truth about McCain, if it looked you in the face.

He was only with the "Keating Five", until he realized what the deal was that Charles Keating was trying to make with him. At that point, he pulled out. John McCain did not want anything to do with the deal and had only sat in on two meetings.

Viet Nam? What on earth are you reading about the amount of time that he was in captivity? What have you been watching on the liberal tv outlets? Do you believe everything you hear? Let me guess. You have watched the stationed that had the gall to air an ex-Vietnamese officer, who was probably paid to tell the reporter that he was friends with McCain. Idiot. Even you as a liberal, should know that the media has a bias and therefore, there is no longer any objectivity regarding interviews held with McCain and Palin. No wonder you have all gone nuts. You'll believe anything that is against McCain and Palin, without researching the facts. Pathetic.

Rob,

Knowing You are a supporter of Obama I would never send You an E-mail related to the slip of the tongue that revealed his "Muslim faith". To lump people into categories just because they heard him profess Muslim faith is to close Your mind. Both candidates stink and You know it,why pretend ?

Obama has called for youth brigades to assist in "security". The paramilitary brigades are already forming http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUEQz5dltmI

Missouri prosecuters have threatened journalists with jail if they publish "lies" about Obama   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iStZAbf47FA

If totalitarian measures are being used before Obama is elected just imagine what it will be like if he is elected. Calling people racist will not change the fact that Obama is a corporate candidate.

My president is/isn't whatever religion - big deal

Interesting remarks.

It shouldn’t matter at all what religion he is. All I’m worried about is how the next president is going to fulfill his position as the leader of our country. I could care less if he or she has blue hair, buck teeth, bad odor, or any other physical trait. I will remind everyone that we are supposedly a secular society. That means that there is a separation of church/mosque/synagogue/temple/owl (hey, talk to the Bohemian Club, not me) and state. Who you pray to is your business. What you do for my country is OUR business.

But the real issues have scarcely been addressed. There are thousands of articles written every day about who’s Muslim and who isn’t, about who is Pentecostal and who isn’t, about what the current relationship between the three major monotheistic religions are (and for the record Jesus is a prophet in Islam and is revered as highly as Muhammad), and all other idiotic, stupid religious trivia that’s 99% bs and 1% stupid. And for those who believe that Obama has ever said he is a Muslim, you better check that battery pack on your brain cells. There’s a major leak somewhere.

People many moons ago used to worry about what someone was going to do once they were elected as president. People used to judge candidates based on their past history in political office or in business practice and they would pick the person they thought would best run the country. Now we have tweedledee and tweedledum. Flip a coin, you’d be just as well served. Since substance has long flown the coop in useful reasons to elect someone, fluff is all we have left. Now we sit hours at Starbucks debating whether a Christian has ever said he was a Muslim. Yeah, I want the guy that may be in charge of WWIII to be chosen based on that criteria, screw the real things like, logic, common sense, ability under pressure, delegating abilities, quick thinking under pressure, and every other real criteria needed for such a position. I want to know if he lied saying he was a Muslim when it is plain that he’s never been, or if he didn’t lie and then we can vote for the other guy. That’s the real litmus test for voters this year.

And people still wonder why the rest of the world looks at us as nothing more than big babies.

One side note, being homeless is not a qualification for deciding the existence of the NWO. They exist, trust me. You don’t have to believe they do, that’s not a requirement. In fact, they’d prefer you didn’t believe they exist. They work better in the dark.

Reply: Nice try, no cigar...

FYI: McCain has never insinuated nor called Barack Obama a Muslim. Even if Obama was Muslim, McCain has other, better things to talk about. Of course, as an opportunist, you aren't concerned with the facts, are you?

McCain in Albuquerque today: ABC POLITICAL NEWS: Ayers, Keating...Kitchen Sink? McCain/Palin Step Up Attacks Obama leads in OH--[Respond on editorial pages of America, while there is still time!]

[[[NEW MEXICO and battleground states & Obama Supporters: Time to fight back on the editorial pages of America to tear apart McCain's Albuquerque diatribe, item by item!----many political battles and whole wars can actually be fought and won on the Editorial page! Today in Albuquerque, NM, John McCain unleashed perhaps his strongest attack of the entire campaign on Barack Obama. The Republican nominee called his opponent out on his fundraising, his (in)action on the financial crisis and even questioned his honesty and openness.

Stepping up his rhetoric against the Democratic nominee, McCain accused him of not being forthright about his record.

"Who is the real Barack Obama?" McCain asked, per ABC News' Bret Hovell. "Even at this late hour in the campaign there are things we don't know about Senator Obama or the record that he brings to this campaign."

Couple this with running mate Sarah Palin in Florida hammering Obama on his "associating" with Bill Ayers and bringing up the fear card for the first time.

"I am just so fearful that this is not a man who sees America the way that you and I see America -- as the greatest source for good in this world," Palin said of Obama to 2,000 supporters at a rally in Clearwater, Florida this morning, per ABC News' Imtiyaz Delawala. "I'm afraid this someone who sees America as imperfect enough to work with a former domestic terrorist who had targeted his own country."

"This, ladies and gentlemen, has nothing to do with the kind of change that anyone can believe in, not my kids, not for your kids," Palin added.

The Obama campaign fired back with its own "association" attack, releasing a 13-minute documentary about McCain's connection to the Keating Five scandal.

The two-front attack comes the day before the second of three presidential debates and as another battleground state poll shows McCain/Palin trailing Obama/Biden in a key state that President Bush won in 2004.

Obama leads McCain 51-45 among likely voters in an ABC News/Washington Post poll released tonight. The economy is far and away the most important issue to Ohio voters and Obama is "riding economic discontent to an advantage" there, per ABC News Polling Director Gary Langer. Obama is "bolstered in part by financially stressed voters in the state's hard-hit industrial belt and following it up with a more extensive ground campaign in this key contest."

Digging deeper into the numbers finds some interesting statistics that will have the folks on Michigan Avenue smiling tonight. Not surprisingly, Obama leads by a wide margin (71-26) in Cuyahoga County, the heavily Democratic Cleveland area. But Obama also has a 17-point lead in the northeastern region, which includes the Rust Belt industrial cities of Akron, Canton and Youngstown. John Kerry eked out a 52-47 win in that region in 2004 over President Bush. In the center and southeastern corner of the state, a region that is more rural and more solidly Republican, Obama has a 51-45 lead. Bush won this same region by 8 points in 2004.

Since wrapping up the Democratic nomination in June, Obama has had 23 events in Ohio, per an analysis of ABC News' records more than any other battleground state. McCain has had 30 events in Ohio since wrapping up his nomination in early March, second only to Florida where he has had 34 events.

Obama hits the ground with a two-day bus tour on Oct 9-10 through southern and central Ohio with stops in Dayton, Cincinnati, Portsmouth and other TBA cities. This is Obama's first visit to the Buckeye State since Sept 9. McCain was last there on Sept. 29.

Tuesday's town hall style debate gives Obama a chance to keep the focus on issues and gives McCain the opportunity to regain lost ground in a format where he is most comfortable.

Answer all these crazy e-mails

Agreed. It has been well-established that Barack Obama is not a Muslim. One other note: If I happen to receive an e-mail that says Sarah Palin is a snake-handling theocrat, I will refute that lie just as loudly as this Barack/Muslim lie should be refuted.

The old double-standard...

I've noticed that although you list negative ads about Obama that the McCain campaign has aired, but little do you mention of the negative -- and completely untrue -- ads that have been aired by the Obama campaign, against McCain. Hmmm...

McCain's mission PLEASE post a COMMENT ON UNM LOBO ARTICLE

McCain's mission
Presidential candidate visits UNM to discuss economic crisis, criticize Obama
By: Hunter Riley

Close to 1,000 people came to see Republican presidential candidate John McCain on campus Monday.

Meanwhile, outside the SUB, about 250 students and community members rallied in protest of McCain, chanting, carrying signs and marching on campus.

McCain discussed the economic crisis and criticized his opponent, Sen. Barack Obama.

"There are essential things we don't know about Sen. Obama or the record that he brings," McCain said. "All people want to know is what this man has actually accomplished and done."

McCain said Obama does not have the experience to run a country and that he is unsure of the fate of America in Obama's hands. He said the only way to know which way Obama will take the country is to look at the direction he's taken in the past.

But Obama has called McCain a liar every time he questions his policies or his record, McCain said.

"I don't need lessons about telling the truth, and were I ever to need any improvement in that regard, I probably wouldn't seek advice from a Chicago politician," McCain said.

The audience was vocal in their support of McCain.

"Who is the real Obama?" McCain said.

"A terrorist! A liar!" some audience members shouted.

McCain said that if he becomes president, he will freeze spending on everything that is not a valuable function of the government.

"I'll balance the federal budget by the end of my term in office," he said.

McCain said the state of the economy will have an effect on students and that he will help students struggling to pay for college.

McCain said Obama is personally acquainted with the people who created the economic crisis we are facing today. Obama has received more money from Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae than any other senator in history, McCain said.

McCain said Obama is not being direct with how he will spend federal money and that Americans should pay careful attention to that.

"According to third-party estimates, he will increase government spending by over $860 billion, but he denied it," McCain said. "He has refused to tell you how much he does plan to spend."

While McCain directed attacks at his opponent, protesters assembled outside the rally to show their support for Obama.

Sophomore Zoe Kolon said McCain's criticism of Obama wasn't strong enough to overcome the flaws in the Republican platform.

"I would say Obama offers a lot for the economy. With the state the economy is in right now, I think Obama is more likely to pull it out than McCain would," Kolon said. "I am against McCain's stance on the war and his tax break, giving money to the upper class."

Students outside the SUB protest Sen. John McCain's visit on Monday.

Protesters outside the SUB ballroom where McCain was speaking were loud enough to be heard inside.

Emily Zamballo, who attended the rally outside the SUB, said it was inspiring to see so many young people caring about politics.

"It's just a nice thing to see traditions carried on when people like me are getting very depressed about what has been happening and we are very sorry about the state of our country," she said. "We feel responsible for it a lot."

Hmmm

Nobody really knows what a person really believes.  But Obama says he is a Christian and goes to church so I have no reason to question this.

However, it is a historical fact that the Spanish Inquisition was more about weeding out crypto-Muslims and crypto-Jews than forced conversions.  The Church wanted conversions of people who were really converted, and perceived a threat in Muslims who still held to their beliefs and converted simply because it made life easier.

Being Muslim and wanting to be President of the USA is sad to say, not realistic.  Heck, they said the same about Catholics, and the only one elected got shot, and his brother would have been elected and got shot too.

But how does the rest of the world view Obama?.

We know Obama real father was the son of a practicing Muslim.   That means even though Obamas father did not adhere to the religion, he is to the Muslim world a Muslim,  as is Obama.   This is the opposite of the Jewish religion which determines it is the mothers being Jewish that determines if the child is Jewish.

We also know Obama's step father was also Muslim, a practicing Muslim, and Obama studied some Arabic and the Koran.  No issues here, he is just a kid and goes to the schools he is sent to.  As an adult he found Christianity, and went to Pastor Wrights church.  If you have political aspirations, you can't be an atheist or without a religion.

In the Muslim world, a Muslim who converts to another religion, say Christianity, is considered an apostate and not looked upon kindly.  Now, that most likely is  limited to those holding fundamentalist views.   But those are the ones most likely to be terrorists.

In his book Dreams From My Father, Obama seemed to have sympathy with black nationalism as a solution to African-American problems.   Hopefully, he has matured and changed his views.  Race was not a big part of his 2nd book Audacity of Hope, since he wrote this in his first year in the Senate knowing he was running for President.   I find this more of an issue than his religion, and his pastor until recently does not reassure one that his views changed.

The thing I wish Obama would say when asked about if he is a Muslim, is "so what if I was?"  Of course, I understand why he can not say so.  When asked about his race, I wish he would just say my Mother was White and my Father African.  I mean, he grew up in Hawaii and Indonesia where even whites were a minority and subject to discrimination.  Not like he grew up on the streets of Chicago.

Race and religion aside, as mentioned earlier, both McCain and Obama are both NWO puppets.  Both will deliver us toward the final stop, just they might take a different route.  But all of us will be at the back of the bus on this ride.  Hope I am wrong, but I know it's a false hope.

A MUSLIM yes, A Muslim No Way

A true Muslim would  harbor some honesty and moral integrity and courage because these traits are part of the deal and are binding. A true Muslim would never ever have participated in the staging and the cover-up of 9/11 massmurder or the bailout swindling. He, as an Insider did. So, he certainly is not a true Muslim from an objective point of view. But I would categorize him as a MUSLIM

M =Moron

U = Useless

S = Swindler

L = Liar

I = Irrelevant

M = Massmurderer

Yes, Obama is a MUSLIM based on this definition

A Muslim?

I can't believe the comments about the good senator as shown above. He is in every way a winner, he is intelligent, politically experienced, persuasive, family oriented, educated, youthful, empathetic, middle of the road, intellectually curious, goal oriented, solidly based man of all seasons. What in the world more do you want or need in a president? If you want a pompous ass then you will have to look elswhere.

False Left-Right Paradigm

Please research Carol Quigley & his ilk. Quigley's writings make it quite plain that The Left & The Right were deliberately created for us peons to fight over -- as were the squabbles over race, religion, sexual identity, reproduction rights, etc. -- the great "Balkanizers," as I like to call them. They want to keep us happily distracted by non-issues (i.e. issues that THEY created via the media), so that we won't have the time, nor inclination, to find out what THEY are up to & how they are planning to enslave us all. And they're so clever with their ruse that they've even convinced us that to question their pre-packaged "reality" is CRAZY.

Unfortunately for us, Obama is not The Savior. I wish he was. We could really use a savior right now, but it's not to be. Jerome Corsi was arrested in Kenya recently. He was trying to obtain a copy of the birth certificate that the Obama campaign refuses to produce (even though they've been ordered to produce it by a federal judge). And isn't it interesting that Obama's kin are in power in Kenya right now? And isn't it frightening that people who question Obama in Michigan are being threatened with arrest? You might think this is a good idea, but you can't have it both ways. If it's OK to arrest people for questioning politicians, then it's OK to arrest YOU for flying off the handle about the evil "Righties." This is NOT what freedom in America is all about. There are serious questions about BOTH Obama AND McCain's citizenship & we need to be asking -- & answering! -- those questions NOW. If either one of these gentlemen are disqualified for office, then we need to shut down their campaigns immediately. It's the right thing to do.

Forced Upon The Sheeple

Kim McDaniel,

Execellent commentary which bring us to the obvious conclusion that the USofA is a fascist state where people are left with the only choice of buying and eating and watching T.V. The brain is supposed to be shut off on political and economic and social issues that matter. This way the Elite can continue installing crooked and liars in high office and go on with business as usual. I have lost all my American firends because  they consider me an enemy of this nation as I  criticize the government and accuse it of having masterminded the 9/11 massacre. This tells you something about the extent of brainwashing they have undergone and are undergoing.

Thank you for your intervention anyways.
