It is probably way too much to ask that Americans READ THE LEGISLATION, but it is critical that ordinary Americans understand what Republicans & their mouthpiece Paulson are trying to ram through Congress. Pay very close attention to Section 8, which is as follows:

Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency.

This alone should scare the living daylights out of every last one of us. The Bush administration is yet again suspending constitutional constraints on its authority. In addition, there are to be no limits on compensation for the executives of the firms which receive Federal funds.

Republicans are openly attacking the American people. This is nothing less than looting the country. Not only has Wall Street made the profits which are the results of reckless and irresponsible deregulation, they also created the vast amount of debt in toxic assets for which they now expect to be compensated. This is overarching criminality.

If Paulson and his cohorts get away with this, they walk away with a cool trillion +. Bear in mind that Paulson is United States Treasury Secretary and member of the International Monetary Fund Board of Governors as well as former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Goldman Sachs.

The Republicans, which includes the cretinous Neo-cons and McCain, have been warning us for thirty years that they intended to drive the Federal Government so far into the ground that it could never be dug up again.

When are we going to take them at their word?

When are we going to stand up to these people?
