According to the Vatican's chief exorcist, Father Gabriele Amorth, the Devil is in the Vatican. He uses this very ignorant superstition as an excuse to explain away the violent pedophile priests the Catholic Church harbors.

Amorth also claims the Devil possessed Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin and that J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter novels are devilishly dangerous because they make a "false distinction between black and white magic".

Not to be outdone by the movie, The Exorcist, Amorth claims that people he performed exorcisms on have spat out some unusual items from their mouths. He claims, "Anything can come out of their mouths finger-length pieces of iron, but also rose petals." WOW! Talk about a great magic show!

Amorth claims Satan is invisible. However, according to this either very delusional man or charlatan, Satan "manifests himself with blasphemies and afflictions in the person he possesses". This Christian superstition is what caused tens of thousands of innocent people to be burned alive when Christianity ruled Europe - you know, DURING THE DARK AGES!

With the religious right raging war right now for governmental power, and in many cases winning, we need to be aware of what awaits us and our children and grandchildren if these throw-backs to the Dark Ages are successful. Amorth's claim that an invisible Satan causes possessed people to speak "blasphemies" makes it very clear the only bright spot in a world ruled by the religious right will be the flames they use to burn those who dare to question them. For to question Christian "truths" is blasphemy and Satan causes people to utter blasphemies. I can see Pat Robertson and his son setting up ecclesiastic courts with his graduate students from Regent University who aren't already holding public office, such as Bob McDonald, oiling the rack to make certain it runs smoothly as they extract confessions from the accused.

To guarantee progress and freedom we need to dismantle the religious right. The best way to do that is through objective Bible study. Since the Bible, Christianity, Judaism and Islam, nor any "revealed" religion, cannot withstand the test of God-given reason, once its sincere followers realize that their "revealed" religion goes against what God has given them, reason, the "revealed" religions will crumble! Here's a Bible test that can help get this done. Pass the link to the Bible test around far and wide. It's a great way to cause independent thought which leads to progress!
