Right-Wing Web Embraces "N" Word In Attacking Obama

By MARC MCDONALD

If anyone is under the delusion that America is a colorblind society, consider this: the Right-Wing Web has embraced the "N" word in its attacks on Barack Obama.

It's true: a lot of the major right-wing players, like Rush Limbaugh, have been careful to avoid the "N" word over the years. They've had to be creative in the way they dance around overtly racist language.

But a big part of the Right-Wing Web has no such qualms about embracing the "N" word in attacking Obama.

To see evidence of this, all you've got to do is Google the keywords: Nigger Obama. Google returns an astonishing 744,000 results. What's even more amazing about that number is that many Web hosters specifically forbid hate speech in their terms of service.

Among those Google results, one sees sites like NiggerObama.com, a site proclaims that itself aimed at "anyone who feels Obama would be a horrible choice for president of the United States."

The site features message boards like "Reparations For Slavery," which are full of posts like Picking up welfare check, not cotton, and Send 'em back to Africa.

Other sites include TheDailyNigger.com, a site with the slogan: "Liberal Media Dogs, Run For Cover!" The site bizarrely claims it is not an "anti-ethnic African site." But it features rambling posts and attacks on Obama, which include such observations as "Black American culture today is rampant with criminals, gangsters, prostitutes and cocaine."

If anyone is surprised by the Right Wing's embrace of the "N" word in attacking Obama, they really shouldn't be.

After all, racism in America has clearly been on the rise in the era of George W. Bush. It's hard to pinpoint exactly where this latest wave of bigotry emerged from----but I think one ominous sign occurred when Bush was campaigning for president in 2000.

If you recall, during the campaign, Bush made it a point to stop by Bob Jones University, where he praised the officials at that school (which incredibly still had a ban on interracial dating). This, no doubt, played real well to the "I don't want my white daughter dating a Negro" racist crowd---but the rest of us were shocked and appalled.

And although we were dismayed, we really weren't surprised. After all, anyone who has followed Bush's career certainly wasn't surprised by the Bob Jones University episode.

Those of us here in Texas remembered all too well the shocking 1998 lynching of James Byrd, Jr. which occurred when Bush was governor here.

In 1998, Byrd, a black man, was chained to a pickup by three white supremacists and dragged to his death in the town of Jasper, Texas.

In the aftermath of the Jasper lynching, a grass-roots effort in Texas urged the state to pass a hate crimes act to help prevent future atrocities. However, the bill failed to pass in the Texas Legislature after Bush refused to support the bill.

Since the Supreme Court appointed Bush to the White House in 2000, he has presided over a rising wave of bigotry and racism in America. (Indeed, in the 2000 election, one million black votes didn't count, as Greg Palast has documented).

Only problem is

It looks like to me that one half of the Democratic Party, 18 million primary voters according to HRC, are racists. According to most of Senator Obama's supporters, anyone who votes against or criticizes Senator Obama is a racist so a great number of Democrats must be racists.

It looks like the campaign to bring America together has started. The Senator Obama people are separating all the good, wonderful Senator Obama supporters who are for change into happy groups over here and all the angry reactionary racists over there. A good way to start a campaign based on the new politics that Senator Obama espouses. So much for reaching out to people. Anyone who couldn't see this coming doesn't understand how much race is a big obsession in the Democratic Party.   They will not hesitate to use race if it benefits them.

Wonderful. We can look forward to our major cities being burned to the ground if Senator Obama is not elected.

Are you making threats in OUR name?

Which Black people have said they'd burn cities down if Obama isn't elected?  Sharpton?  NAACP?  Chris Rock?  The guy who leans on the mailbox on your street?  Where is this great info and/or insight coming from?  Because in all the discussions and readings I've done on this campaign, among Blacks as well as whites, I have yet to hear anything like this threat until your comment.

You're trying to smear Obama's possible victory just like people smear the college dgrees of people like me:  "Oh, you must have gotten in through Affirmative Action."  "Oh, sure people voted for Obama because they were afraid of riots if he lost."

Nice try, COINTELPRO.   Next time, try saying it with more feeling...

Mad Jayhawk - What Were You Thinking . . .

Mad Jayhawk demonstrates the double mind of racism. He responds to an article that is critical of white racist for applying the "N" word to Barack Obama, by "analyzing" his way to a prediction that, "cities (will be) burned to the ground if Senator Obama is not elected . . ." presumably by black people. So, evidence of hostile racism by whites, is predictive of violent criminal behavior by blacks . . . How do you get there?!!!

Perhaps Jayhawk's journey was fueled by his own misinformation. Hillary did not say that all of the people who voted for her are racist. She said, "Sen. Obama's support among hardworking Americans, white Americans is weakening again, and how the whites in both states that have not completed college were supporting me." She was talking about whites who have not completed college in two states, not 18 million voters!!!

As for Barack supporters who have asserted that "anyone who votes against or criticizes Senator Obama is a racist," there aren't any. However, a Hillary supporter, Geraldine Ferraro, said something like that. But Ferraro's words weren't in support of the right to "vote against or criticize" Barack, they were to deflect criticism away from her assertion that "If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is."

Finally, if some Democrats are "for change," and others are "angry reactionaries," they are, by that definition, separate. No one created that.

Barack Obama's leadership represents an opportunity for Americans, who believe they have a common interest and destiny, to become "one people," to become "the United States of America."

Ignorance aplenty from a so called "journalist"!

What a shock it was to come to this website and find The Daily Nigger has been tagged as a "racist" website. Not really! It was no shock at all! In fact Mr MacDonald did us a favor in exemplifying the very point we are making on the The Daily Nigger.

His unmitigated libel and slander is typical of leftist losers who cry foul and negative stereotype anyone who uses the First Amendment in a way with which they disagree. You see the First Amendment seems to be the private playground of progressives, secularists, socialists, communists, and other such ilk who have no idea what is really going on the world, only their trumped-up visions clouded by ideology and touchy-feelie kumbya garbage! They believe the Freedom of Speech is their private domain and anyone who does not believe as they believe, have no right to same and further more no right contest their warped point of view. That is why so many fo then are enamoured with communist and socialist thugs like Infidel Castro and Hugh'o Chavez

I would like understand just how the American public's and our revolt, against the imposed political correct freedom of speech of the moonbat brigade is some how "racist". The common person on the street in Amercia is not racist, but they are damned sick and tired of being told they are so by the likes Al "Catfish" Sharpton, Jessie "Jerkoff" Jackson, Luis "Lucifer" Farrakan, Un-Reverend Jeremiah Wrong, and of course the pinhead journalists like Marc MacDonald.
