Nancy Pelosi is putting a Democrat on the table for offenses profoundly less than the impeachable crimes Bush, Cheney and company perpetrated.

It's hard to tell what mental malfunction afflicts Pelosi and the rest of the Democratic leadership.

Oh, Rangel may deserve his due, but the idea that Rangel gets nailed, that hearings are on the table for him but not the much bigger fish who should have been-- that's just plain crazy... or stupid.

Democratic inability or unwillingness to prosecute Republicans appears to be in the Democrats' DNA.

It may be that they want to reserve the same criminal acts and policies for themselves. It may be because they are very afraid of Fox News.

Maybe it's the equal corruption of the duopoly that makes both parties cut from the same corporatist cloth.

Maybe its cowardice, which makes the Dems stand out or down. Who knows? The mice out-lived the velociraptors. Maybe cowardice is evolutionally adaptive.

But from my view, here, they're looking even worst than ever. Impeachment never should have been taken off the table. Hearings would have changed everything. Now, the Republicans know they don't have to worry about hearings on the table. Democrats save that for their own. Ptui! Pure idiocy.

A few declarations.
-While I'm registered as a Democrat, I consider myself to be a dynamic critic of the Democratic party, just as, well, not quite as much, but almost as much as I am a critic of republicans.
