Dear Governor Sarah Palin:
Please help me understand. You are a conservative evangelical Christian, right? You say so and all the conservatives say that’s what you are. How could they ever possibly be wrong?
I know you’re Pentecostal and believe the Bible to be literally true and the inerrant word of God. So would you please help me understand some Biblical text? These are all passages from the New Testament, the King James’ Version.
For starters, could you teach me what Paul meant when he wrote:
“But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.”
Or what Paul could have meant:
“Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.”
Gov. Palin, does your church conservatively stick to
“Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.”
Do you keep quiet or do you go to a liberal church that lets women speak like they had penises? Are you a member of one of them radical liberation theology churches that even believe women can go out and speak in public? Do you secretly push an anti-God, lesbian, man-hating conspiracy that women should actually be allowed to go out of the home and get a job and work around men and get paid as much?
And, by the way, when you go to church do you remember
“But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.”
Or, when you are in public that
“In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;”
What is, Governor? Do you literally follow the inerrant word or do you paint yourself up like Jezebel with lipstick and try to teach and usurp the word of God like some women’s libber by acting like a nuts-chomping bulldog?
Speaking of which, Governor, how do you feel about Paul’s transcription of God’s dictation that
