Judith Miller former NY Time enabler of the Bush claims of WMD threat, now a commentator at Fox "News," has written a Wall Street Journal Op-Ed on the funny pages section of the paper-- their Op-Ed section-- attacking Joe Wilson and his Wife Valerie Plame and their portrayal in the movie account of their experience, FAIR GAME.

Miller, also an "adjunct fellow" at the right wing Manhattan Institute, suggests, in more words, that Plame was not as important as the movie claims, did not have to quit the CIA, did not do or have involvement with many of the things the movie says she did and that there are many inaccuracies or false elements in the movie.

Since the CIA has not commented on Plame's work at the agency, it is interesting to speculate where Faux journalist, I mean, Fox Commentator Wilson, got her information-- perhaps from the same sources she used to document her stories which supported the Bush claims that there were weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) in Iraq, giving reason to start a war there.

It has been speculated that Miller left the NY Times because a reputation and criticisms about her competence and credibility as a journalist. Wikipedia reports,
" Miller announced her retirement from the New York Times on November 9, 2005, citing among other reasons difficulty in performing her job effectively after having become an integral part of the stories she was sent to cover. [16] The announcement may not have been voluntary her journalism had come under intense criticism with accusations that she had become a shill for the Bush administration . This criticism generally followed the line that her reporting of cherry-picked intelligence favorable to the administration's pro-war positions prior to the Iraq war reflected an uncomfortable "entanglement" with administration officials."
Miller's put down attack on the Wilsons follows a similar one by the Washington Post.
One might speculate that hers is sour grapes because she was held in jail for refusing to divulge the source of her information-- Scooter Libby-- who she protected, only to see him protected by George W. Bush as well, who commuted the prison part of Libby's sentence.

As is so often the case, it would be interesting to explore the question, Qui Buono-- who benefits from these attacks on the Wilsons? Cheney, who played a role? Libby? Bush, who is attempting to dig his legacy out of the latrine of history? It will be surprising if this is the last attack. It IS notable though, that whoever is behind them, had to go to the dregs of media infamy to find someone to take on the task.
