The Florida/MIchigan Battle between Hillary and Obama is OVer-- Probably
All Florida delegates are seated with half a vote each.
Michigan delegates are seated with half a vote each.
The deal gives Hillary a net gain of 24 delegates-- 19 from Florida and 5 from Michigan. That's not nearly enough to help her. Most pundits are now saying it's all over for her.
But Harold Ickes, announced, as the vote was about to go down, that Clinton reserved right to go to the credentials meeting to appeal. Could that negate the results of today's discussions and decisions until July?
At the hearing Clinton supporters repeatedly chanted "Denver, Denver." signifying their wish for the fight to continue until the August Democratic convention.
Depending on which source you check, Obama needs 64-68 delegates to take the nomination. There are 86 pledged delegates remaining and 205 superdelegates.
At Dailykos, "hunter" reports,
Yesterday, Obama needed 41 delegate votes to clinch the nomination; Clinton needed 244.
Today, Obama needs 64 votes; Clinton needs 240.5.
There are 291 delegates remaining.

Clinton will probably pull 30-35 of the 55 Puerto Rico delegates, leaving Obama with 20-25.
On Tuesday, Obama and Clinton are expected to evenly split <a href="click here 16 pledged delegates. There are four uncommitted delegates who say they are waiting for the results of the primary to make their decision.
South Dakota's primary, also on Tuesday, has 15 pledged delegates up for grabs, where Obama is leading. That suggests that by tuesday, Obama could have 30-45 more delegates, needing 23-38 more superdelegates, out of the 205 remaining.
BUT! Hillary's reservation of her right to take this all the way to Denver could cloud the nomination.

A few declarations.

...this is a bunch of crap, right? There is no "process," there are no "elections." This is just an Amerikkkan Idol media entertainment trick to make you "believe" you have some kind of "choice." You know that, right? This post is just sophisticated satire, right?
If so, this is truly great satire.

We have the freedom to 'choose' ..... but only from those who have been thoroughly vetted by the PTB and are thus chosen for us to choose from......
There are factions, of course, within that power structure.... That is why we may yet see a 'Hail Mary' end run by the neocons. Their power structure and Herculean effort to discard the constitution were done for a purpose. A purpose which may not see fruition with Obama adminstration assuming power. He is the product of a different faction... But, there are many ways to skin a cat, I've been told.
And the secret government/CIA is the lurker in the threshold's shadows... it abides....

Clinton can do whatever she likes, including going all the way to the convention and attempt to secure further support for her Nomination. However, if Obama has the votes needed by this Wednesday that isn't a very smart move. The party and people in it have tolerated Clinton running even after it was clear she could not secure the Nomination because she certainly has a right to seek the Nomination. No one can force her to stop. However, if she can't win and doesn't care that she does not have the votes by Wednesday, all she will do is further alienate and produce greater divisions in the party. That is a message that will not be lost on the party faithful.
If Clinton is mostly interested in fueling differences and animosities in the party by continuing her battle after Wednesday, she can justify it as her right. It is a right she will have to exercise at her own expense. If she does, just for her own benefit and weakens the party at the expense of Democratic Nominee, her message will be heard loud and clear "I don't care what you want, it's all about me". It's a hard message to miss.
If she wants to take that approach to the Nomination, I think you will find all gloves come off between now and the August Convention. Clinton will find not only that she has no place at the table, I doubt she will even be invited to the table. I would not be surprised if this seriously damages any future place she thinks she may have in the Deomcratic party as well. If Clinton wants to join the Republican party she may fit right in to their political philosophy which is "what's in it for me"? If she does challenge the Obama Nomination after Wednesday that would appear to fit her attitude and belief system perfectly.

...I can say my big fear is the "operation chaos" (from Rush Limbarf) might cause Obama not to take it here. We have been a Red state; however, last few elections gave us a Democrat Governor with a Repub Lt Governor, and TWo Democrat Senators. We still have that same repub House Rep and he still votes with Bush. He is still ahead as he is up for Re-election. But, we have young ppl that have come out of the wood work and participated in campaigns for Obama. We have many lil old ladies that like Hillary.
I have posted before that MT is a gun state. The men here kiss their guns at night, not their wives. Hillary helped ban guns in NY(she's backpeddling now). Ppl think Obama was against them except those of us that know different, and know what it means to TEACH civil liberties, the constitutional law as he has.
I am not so optimistic as most. I believe even with the change of a Prez and a Dem majority in the Senate and House, will still not restore our liberty and will still not change the way our rights have been lost. I am the pessimist, that builds the parchutes. I say, keep that powder stocked up, this baby hasn't been fought yet. MT is a heavy Ron Paul state. The city I reside in is packed with Paul signs.
I think Hillary will take the majority of Puerto Rico. The Territory did well under Bill, and that is all they know.
You know when you see those kids in a store, screaming and yelling for candy (or something). The mom says no (many times over) and then when you see them at the check out, the kid has the candy. Hill keeps on screaming until she gets her way. Her way is McCain, she wants Mac over Barry IMO.

the way she wants to. No one is being hurt by her continuing this run which she has probably always wanted anyways. How many of us were angry when Kerry bowed out? Or wouldn't have fought harder for Gore? It will be over soon enough and we will have a candidate. Everyone just chill out for god's sake. Save the fights for McCain and the RNC.
