While I realize that there are more important problems to tackle, I just had to congratulate Gov. Sarah Palin for calling those who so brutally leaked what she did or did not know, “Jerks”

Those anonymous sources within the McCain campaign cannot pin their defeat totally on her, they must take responsibility for McCain’s defeat.  McCain himself must bear the cross of his own defeat by not fully vetting Sarah Palin instead of choosing a running mate who would have been a formidable match against Vice President-Elect Joe Biden.  The onus is on McCain since he was the top of the ticket.

It has been reported that McCain wanted to choose Joe Lieberman as his running mate and if he truly wanted to be president, he should have chosen him.  A commander in chief does not allow for others to choose who his running mate will be.  He is after all the decider, not them.

In column-after-column where I criticized Palin, at least I like many put our names out there instead of hiding our identities.  To these anonymous people who are now trying to pin the blame on her, at least she had the guts to go out there and tell the American people why they should vote for their ticket even if the message was wrong.  She was the one met with boos as she dropped the puck at the Flyers game as these anonymous sources hid.

While I still question her about stoking the fires of hate and divisiveness, if the McCain people and McCain himself saw that it was having a detrimental affect to their campaign, they should have immediately changed the message and told her enough.  If McCain could not have done this, then he deserved to lose to President-Elect Barack Obama.  This was after all his campaign to win and now we saw he lost in a landslide.

The person who handed her that phone as a prank was played upon her should have automatically been fired.  That person should never work in any future campaign due to their unprofessionalism.

These anonymous sources must realize that it was McCain whose erratic behavior during the financial crisis is one of the paramount reasons why he lost this campaign.  It was his statement, “The fundamentals of the economy are strong” that sank him. Our new President-Elect, Barack Obama exemplified what true leadership was all about as he showed a steadiness of hand to a frightened electorate.  Instead of acting erratic, he acted presidential and he never looked back. Now President-Elect, Barack Obama engaged the American people and they followed his leadership.

At the very start of this campaign by demonizing the media at the RNC is what led to a tear down and dissection of this disastrous campaign.  Rule number one for any campaign is do not piss off the media because it will backfire.  The media like it or not is a campaign’s best friend in order to help get out their message.

When Rick Davis stated this campaign was not about the issues, that too sank the campaign from the start and it should be highlighted due to the report that came out yesterday of how many have lost their jobs this past year.  It should be highlighted as our auto industry is in trouble.  To Davis, this campaign was the issues, stupid!  Davis should never be hired again by any campaign wishing to succeed.

Whomever leaked how much the RNC spent on Sarah Palin’s clothes also lost this campaign as many Americans find it harder and harder to even by one stitch of clothing.  Whomever leaked that, should never work on any campaign ever again.

To end this piece, those who are trying to pin the blame solely on Sarah Palin and doing so anonymously you are truly cowards and any future candidate wishing to run for office should stay clear of all of you.  Lastly to Senator John McCain, you and you alone should bear the responsibility for your own defeat by running one of the worst campaigns in history.  To allow your surrogates to pin the blame solely on Palin shows your misogynistic tendencies.  You chose her and it is about time you tell these anonymous surrogates, enough.  After all, you stated that this lost campaign was your fault in your concession speech on election night.  Now own up to it.

It is my hope that Gov. Sarah Palin learns from all of this, moves on, and governs her state.  To those anonymous sources who look to tear her down again and again, at least Palin still holds an elected position as governor of Alaska.  What position of any relevance do you hold?  Nada!
