The "War on Terror" is also a war on us

by Cheryl Abraham     Page 2 of 2 page(s)

Tell A Friend

The point is this: history is full of examples where people who had right on their side fought against tremendous odds and were victorious. And it is also full of examples of people passively hoping to wait it out, only to get swallowed up by a horror beyond what they ever imagined. The future is unwritten. WHICH ONE WE GET IS UP TO US.”

So, when are you going to step up?

I would argue that...

the "War on Terror" is being waged exclusively against us citizens of the United States. I base that judgment on the apparent effect it has had on a ragtag band of Muslim fundamentalists called Al Quaeda. That effect is nil.

I would argue that...

The Iraqi people are feeling this 'war on terror' pretty harshly - please see this link for just a taste of what this war on terror is creating there:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/fiveyearsiniraq

Then visit the IVAW site and listen/watch/read the Winter Soldier testimonies:

http://ivaw.org/wintersoldier/testimony

The war on terror is not just affecting Americans, to think so is to ignore the tremendous suffering of thousands.

I readily agree that the United States...

has wrought horrible hardship upon the people of Iraq. Indeed, hardship enough to make many if not most Iraqis nostalgic for Saddam Hussein. But it is clear to me that the military adventurism of our government in Iraq never had anything to do with the "War on Terror", and had everything to do with wresting their petroleum resources away from them.

That is why I say that the people of the United States are the exclusive target of the government's "War on Terror". It has been used as their leverage to shut us up and make us sit still for the ghastly atrocities they have committed and continue to commit, ostensibly in our name.

Thank you

Thanks for your answer - I'm in agreement with your statement now that I understand what you were saying.

Right On

I can't help thinking that getting the United Nations, which is a higher authority than D.C., (even though we will be hard pressed to tell D.C. that.) to enforce its illegal invasion words, is the way to go.  There is just some tough nuts on the right, who will not convict him.

Thanks

I hope that my article can bring some people into the movement. It is so important that people wake up to what's happening -

Plus - LOVE that Randi Rhodes is back on the air thanks to Nova M

Blackout?

I see a small crowd of people in my travells to tarvens and clubs to play pool and darts, to the tune of the jukebox. Most all love the music I play. They are also as pissed off as I am. I'm just worried that if 10 million people show up in D.C. on 7-4-08, we could end up forcing Bush's hand. Though then the wirenuts and truckers will halt all his plan's.

But I did send your article out to all of the close to 300 on my email list.

Fantastic

That's what we've all got to do - encourage people to get out there! May 1st may turn out to be a significant day - the longshoremen are planning an 8 hour work stoppage at the ports along the west coast to protest the war, and I heard that a few hundred truckers are driving to DC and parking their trucks and leaving them in protest of gas prices. This is how it starts - these are ways to really have an impact, more than holding up a sign and marching down the sidewalk - these actions of resistance are what it's going to take to have an impact against an administration and a media that's bent on ignoring the will of the people.

WOT

When I first saw your Nation's now Leader when he was just running for his political party's nomination to run against Gore I said he would lead your Nation into wars, take your rights away under your Constitution, and call for the New World Order.  He has done all three things.

Cause & Effect.  As soon as human beings invented the thing called "Money" you have this world as it now is at this time.  As soon as Columbus sailed to this land the conquest of the Native Tribes began.  Without men like Bush the land mass of your Nation would be rather limited as they would not have murdered off the Native Tribes, nor cheated & stole their land.  Perhaps you think the Bankers & Corporations who really run things on this planet at this current time actually care what you think?  Historically those with the money, guns, advanced technology make the rules.   Perhaps you will relalize there isn't any America it is just the myth of it's self that men made up, & now there is only the New World Order.  The NWO is just using your Treasury & military for it's own agenda as Henry Kissinger stated that military men where just dumb animals for them to use.  That is how your leaders & the NWO consider you.

A part of their tactics are to play the God/Jesus card like educated men learned to do long ago to invoke the name of their God in order to perpetrate what is only their own worldy evil agendas upon other people & their own if the case occurs.  As bad as things are now upon the earth they only get worse as the thing called time continues.

Cause & Effect.  Very few things work over a long period of time upon a planet such as this one.  A people called the Kogi escaped the Spanish way back shortly after 1492 to a remote mountain/mountain range where they still primarily live what is called The Old Way or Original Way upon the earth that is the way the Native Tribes lived a long time ago when the land you live upon was called Turtle Island.

The founders of your Nation stated they patterned your Nation after the Roman Republic/Empire.  Most were Freemasons & Deists.  The people of the Middle East get to be the new Indians or new Boogie Men if you care to use that term.   The way things are now upon the earth at this time.

ms abraham

i appreciate the fact that you defered from taking me on at the mckinney movie....

though i am not sure what vibe you speak of...

and... i am a little mystified at what "rolling of eyes" you observed....since you were in the front row and never once turned your head to acknowledge me speaking... or, i assume, to see the eyes (rolling or not) of the other 10 people in the room who were all sitting behind you...quite the feat i must say...

but since you did not deign to speak for some odd reason... (maybe because you are used to preaching in an echo chamber) i will give you your chance now...

please regale me with your thoughts...what i have read so far in this post only makes me feel sorry for you and the suffering you must go through to get up in the morning...

me...i wake up fresh...happy...and full of confidence...

i wish for you someday the same happiness...
