That doesn't sound good. In fact, it sounds like there is much to be concerned about on all fronts regarding the safety, security and sanctity of our elections. Anything you'd like to add, Nancy?

I guess I'd just add that this may seem overwhelming but the truth is it is in our power to change things. We can restore our public elections, and once we can honestly elect and unelect people, we'll start to see those folks in Washington really representing the public interest! All the lobbyist money in the world won't amount to a hill of beans when the votes are counted honestly, fairly, and publicly. Because any politician going against the public interest will be sent packing in a New York minute.

Right now, the best thing we all can do is to register with Black Box Voting to stop this Diebold-ES&S merger. After that, just one step at a time and we'll bring the kind of democratic elections we need to sustain our nation for ourselves, our children, and the rest of the world that depends on us to do the right thing.

Thank you for those encouraging words and for bringing us up to speed on the ramifications of ES&S's acquisition of Premier, formerly known as Diebold. This news is worrisome, indeed.
