Reply: Mattoid
Very good, John. My first chuckle of the day, and I actually had to look up "mattoid" in my dictionary, though I do know what is an "oligarch". by Diane Cadonau (0 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 16 comments [3 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Friday, Aug 29, 2008 at 1:35:03 PM

Stewart is doing no good
These people, the scoundrels of both parties, are not to be laughed at. They should be handcuffed, tried, and then jailed appropriately. "Oh but The Daily Show and Colbert Report are funny and bring humor to a bad situation." No they don't! They serve to indoctrinate our youths into believing that the crimes and destructiveness of the American Empire are acceptable, inevitable, and even laughable. Ron Paul appeared on both shows while he was still considered a "laughing stock" and before they realized what a true threat he was. I am glad a commenter mentioned RP's billboards that are up in and around the city. There is also this amazing video playing every few minutes on the TV screens in the Mall of America. This man, his counter-convention, and his campaign for liberty is what needs to be talked about. Not the people who continue to brain-wash America into thinking that the organized crime syndicate, known as the State, is comical in any way. It is time to get real, get serious, and put up with BS no more. by Ferdinand (17 articles, 4 quicklinks, 39 diaries, 259 comments) on Friday, Aug 29, 2008 at 1:29:18 PM

Oligarch
Oligarch-- by Oligarch reference is made to one member of a group that believes in the rule of a few-- Bush, Bush Cheney, Rice, McCain, CEOs of Mobile, Wal-Mart, Phillips-Conoco, Chase, Citibank, etc, etc, etc. and the Republican Party, especially the wealthy few. I call them crumbs, you know, the upper crust, the few held together by a lot of dough.
