Stuck in traffic in a major U.S city, writer Matt Remle sees the bumper of a car in front of him littered with right-wing bumper stickers. One of these, "Freedom Isn't Free," jumps out at him and this Lakota Oyate Native ponders what Indians have gone through during the course of American history with poignancy and much melancholy. Romlie also questions how many wars the United States has actually fought for freedom and liberty, and yet again, he comes up with little, except some very empty feelings.
