Mike Gravel and 30 Mins W Rob Kall Solo, Closing out the New Year
By Rob Kall
The first 30 minutes are with Mike Gravel, on how a member of congress should release the full 6000+ page report on torture to the public. The next half hour is me, Rob Kall, solo, doing an
::::::::
Mike Gravel talking about release of the abbreviated Senate Select Intelligence committee report on torture
Diane Feinstein and Jay Rockefeller did a service in pursuing this.
Release of the summary was momentous.
Hope, before January 3rd that they release the entire report
Republicans withdrew their staff from o oversight.
Constitutional responsibility of the congress to inform the people.
Intelligence committee only partially informed the public/
Rob: Why do you think they're not doing it?
if Diane Feinstein released the entire report she'd be doing her job.
If another member of congress released it there's no risk in that.
Supreme court ruled that he had ever right under the constitution to release whatever secrets he felt should be made public.
Udall could release it and not suffer any consequences.
Rob: do you think that if you were brought before the supreme court with the same situation today they would react the same way?
Rob: what's the substance of the speech and debate clause.
Rob: so, can the CIA or NSA or any other secret organization stop a member of congress from talking about any of their activities?
Rob: So there's no way that one of the secret agencies can accuse someone of treason?
CIA had spied on senate staff activities--
Rob: was it illegal
of course it was illegal for them to do that. They should be prosecuted.
Rob: If you were in the senate now, how would you be handling this situation?
I would have released them immediately.
It would show the world that not all Americans are hypocrites.
Rob: NSA knows about everyone-- members of congress and their nephews and brothers in law-- everyone knows someone who has something to hide who they will want to protect.
I am not all that optimistic about how power is distributed in the congress.
Rob: what do you mean you are not optimistic about how power is distributed in the congress.
Rob: if you were still in the senate what would you do about the lies (Brennan, etc.)
One person who has been great on it has been Bernie Sanders, but he's only one person.
Rob: these liars were under the direction and supervision of Obama"?
Rob: Is it an inability or a conscious choice not to do it ( prosecute liars to congress)
It's a conscious choice.
Rob: You're a Democrat, but you're very critical of Obama.
Yes.
whistleblowers, Chelsea Manning,
Going after Wikileaks and Assange, then going after Snowden-- What Snowden did is what the members of the intelligence committee should have done.
Rob: Have you contacted any members of the senate?
The intelligence committee took up.
Rob: what would you say to a member of congress?
Rob: anything else you want to say about this issue?
Rob: I just read that you're involved with Marijuana
Kush Cannabis Sativa Inc. CBDS publicly traded
Cubby lozenge-- patented strain to be marketed through a lozenge-- more effective as
Rob: And what's your position there
president and CEO of Kush-- a subsidiary
Rob: you have a history of advocacy for legalization of marijuana. Can you talk about that?
