Republicans Lose When They Win

When the Dems pulled a bipartisan majority in their overnight effort to end the war this week, it was amazing how many lamestream media orgs showed their true colors by framing their effort as a loss.

The funny thing is, these orgs, which pretty much framed the Republicans as winning, didn't realize it, but in a way, they were helping the Dems.

John McCain knows it. He can't help himself. He's pretty much lost his shot at the presidency because of his positions on the war and on immigration. The Republicans in the more liberal bluing, northern states, like Maine, Ohio, Virginia-- they're getting stiff doses of voter reality-- that their constituents want the war ended.

The rest of the Republicans are not that far behind. They are, more and more, even by Republican network anchors, being framed as more loyal to the idiot president and his Darth Vader VP than they are to the USA. That's ugly.

So, when the stenographic lamestream media sycophantly frame the Democrats' victory in pulling a bi-partisan majority in opposition to the war as a loss, and that the Republicans stopped them from ending the war, they are helping the Democrats.

In the states of the senators who are still blocking the ending of the war, Democrats and third party orgs are running ads attacking the Republicans, whittling away at their support. It is working. The Republican die-hard Bush supporters know it.

Meanwhile, Bush is running ramrod, like an unhouse-trained dog, shitting all over the constitution and the bill of rights. The justice department is so dirty it reeks.

The remaining people who are supporting Bush and the hold-out senators are not enough to enable those senators to keep their jobs. If they keep supporting Bush's war, they're going to lose their seats-- a lot of them. Maybe 15 or 17 of them. If that many lose their seats, then the ones not up for election will have had the fear of God, and the fear of angry constituents put in them. They will very likely abandon a whole lot of the right wing crap they've been supporting. They might even become democrats, people like the senators from Maine, for example. It's no fun being a moderate in a minority party.

Harry Reid has  made a mistake, again, leaving the right wing Bush supporters off the hook for the rest of the summer. He should be taking Mike Gravel's advice and bringing up legislation EVERY DAY, for the Republicans and  Lieberman to vote down. Let all their constituents get pissed at them EVERY DAY.

Bush and Cheney are fulminating, like a sac of puss, ready burst. It's going to be ugly, but oh so satisfying. And it will cause pain for the legislators who never figured out that they were going to crash with them.

But it will take some time. The impeachment "boil" is not quite ready to "lance" yet. More hearings must be held to show more corruption. More resignations will surely unfold and Bush and Cheney are surely going to engage in more acts of offensive, constitution soiling hubris. They can't help it. It's their nature.

Meanwhile, the sane, non-neocon conservatives and libertarians in the media have woken up or are waking up, smelling the coffee and they are figuring out that Bush and Cheney are bad for America. That makes Bush and Cheney toast. That makes the pathetic, egg-head neocons look like die hard idiots, desperately hanging on to ideas that never worked and that have now been proven to be failed and disastrous.

Watch and see. Even Fox News can't remain faithful to the Dubya and Dick idiot show. The questions include-- How long 'til Dick gets a note from his doctor to resign? Will Bush try to pardon all the possible people who can testify against him? If so, do they need to be accused first? Will the dems hold strong to prevent a Republican from replacing Cheney, who will be in line to replace impeached Bush? (Maybe if a promise of no pardons is made public.) Will a republican replacement for Cheney be a candidate in the 2008 elections? (Not if the democrats have a brain in their cumulative head.)

If the invertebrate Dems find their spines, and play tough, hardball, then all good things will come to pass. That also requires that the grassroots (you, my dear readers) must keep pushing hard for impeachment, but realizing that it will take time for it to reach the critical mass point. Some congressfolk with lots of tenure, or the most liberal constituents will hop on the bandwagon earlier. The freshmen who won by narrow margins will have to wait longer.

But be assured, things are moving forward. I've trusted John Conyers since the get go and continue to believe, that with good people like him, Henry Waxman and just a handful of others, the rest of the congress will be forced, once their investigations ripen to show how rotten this crew is,  to step up to the plate and slug these criminals out of Washington.
