Changeling-- A Movie Which Portrays Evil Police

By Rob Kall

don't want to spoil the story. I want you to watch it and feel the rage like I did as you see police lie and intimidate and abuse their power. The story takes place in 1928. That makes the movie more believable-- that police abuses took place close to 90 years ago.

The movie Changeling, directed by Clint Eastwood, written by , stars Angelina Jolie and John Malkovich, with Ron Howard as Executive Producer.

I don't want to spoil the story. I want you to watch it and feel the rage like I did as you see police lie and intimidate and abuse their power. The story takes place in 1928. That makes the movie more believable-- that police abuses took place close to 90 years ago. In fact, the movie is based upon fact. Writer Straczynski was inspired by records he discovered describing the Wineville Chicken Coop Murders.

The reality is that things have not changed. Police are still corrupt and still abuse their power.

The story shows a human being who is a victim of police, how they bedevil her and lie and scheme to cover their corruption. The story shows how the police protect their own by criminal, cruel means, using doctors and psychiatrists to support their lies and corruption.

The story shows how police officers fabricate false narratives and use them to make life miserable for honest people who challenge their authority, who witness police criminality or speak out about police errors or corruption.

I'm glad HBO is running the movie now. Spoiler alert. One highly unrealistic aspect of the movie is the ending-- justice is done and the bad cops, at least, are fired. That's really not much of a spoiler though. It is satisfying, to, at least, in a movie, see justice done.

Of course, there are good cops. The problem is, they work in a system that makes it very difficult for the good cops to do anything about the bad cops.

It's worth reading the notes about the movie at IMDB.com
