I know the scriptures: they are written in my heart.
One of God's promises is that, if we who are called by his name will humble ourselves and pray, he will heal our land!
There is a problem! The bible says. If a person has not love, his religion is vain! If a Christian doesn't feel bad about injustices, torture, the pain of others, the grief of others; of what use is his religio?.
Love your neighbor even as I loved you, wow! Love your neighbor enough to die for them? Most Christians today, do not know who their neighbors are; it's anyone who is in need. They put on a show of helping people, but the first question they ask the person in need is, "are you a member of my church, if not I can't help you.
They are willing to help feed a drunk or dope addict, thru faith-based government funded programs.
They won't help a low income working family, senior citizen on a fixed income, or the bane of the Christian Parents (you ruined my reputation) the unwed pregnant teenage daughter.
Most Christians, need to re-evaluate their "love-walk". The every day person on the street, shows more compassion for people & protecting God's creatures, & the planet than the average Christian does.
