Eliot Gould

The 1700 trade ships sailing under the Chinese flag delivering international goods is just one expression of the emergence of  current state of China. Trade must continue to flourish as trade continues to continues to expand with innovation and  technologies. The building of the ships stimulated new housing and promises an industry and level of commerce exceeding Japanese and Korean shipping tonnage.

China could reverse the silhouettes of silence, and offer “Ships of Hope” with medicines and foods offered in charitable manner, signaling a more pragmatic posture for national governments and mutual assistance.

Beyond the peacekeeping mission and humanitarian relief , if the Chinese desire to sell heavy construction equipment for  housing in newly set aside areas rather than continuance of war, it could precipitate real peace. It is a better value to build  housing stock and industrial development than supply war and its ravages. The continued expanse and new “Chinese cities could be built Along the shores of Sudan and Somalia--- and supported by that trade route. The Chinese have a long way to go with  regard to “air quality, food standards, and human rights. ” but electricity, irrigation pipes and water wells can go along way to  transform areas, attitudes and build lasting prosperity and peace.
