There's nothing more we poorest do deplore,

There's nothing more we poorest do   abhor,

There's nothing more, of course, we do ignore

Than   sins of wealth that lead us into war.

These sins, we poor continue crying for,

These sins, we poor continue dying for,

These sins, we poor succumb to lying, for

The lies are what has taken us to war.

Is there some law that tells us who gets more?

Is there some law that tells us who can soar?

Is there some law that tells us who should score?

Or must the poor accept their fate in war?
