During a hearing on Thursday morning, May 15, Solicitor General John Sauer was questioned by justices of the U.S. Supreme Court -- including Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor, Amy Coney Barrett and Chief Justice Roberts. The hearing involved universal injunctions blocking President Donald Trump's executive order (EO) against birthright citizenship. Attorneys who are challenging Trump's order stress that it is unconstitutional, as birthright citizenship is protected by the U.S. Constitution's 14th Amendment.
