Fox News had a victory, nay a landslide victory for their boy, Romney. Oops

Karl Rove was geared to win and to win big. He was spending OPM (Other People's Money) like there was no tomorrow. The only problem is tomorrow has arrived and the other guy won.

Um, oopsies.

Karl had promised a landslide. He promised Romney would win and win big. This was going to make the 2010 election look like a pep rally for the big boys. In fact, he was right. The only problem was he picked the wrong "big boys", after spending around $400 million of his friends' money to get what the Supreme Court had promised them, as many elections as they care to afford.

Karl Rove told Fox News on November 1, " My prediction: Sometime after the rooster crows on the morning of Nov. 7, Mitt Romney will be declared America's 45th president. Let's call it 51%-48%, with Mr. Romney carrying at least 279 Electoral College votes, probably more."

Fox News was all over his idea. All their pundits came down on Karl's side. The day before the election, Fred Barnes wrote an opinion piece for Fox News explaining why it was so friggin' obvious that Mitt had this one "in the bag."   According to Barnes, " Enthusiasm! It matters enormously, and it's disproportionately on the Republican side, in good measure because of an intense desire to defeat President Obama."

Oops again.

Charles Krauthammer made a guest appearance on the O'Reilly Factor the day before elections and promised this: " I think Ohio goes to Romney for the reasons Karl [Rove] said. If you look at the early polling, Obama was way behind where he was four years ago."

Oops+.

Even Newt Gingrich, in an article posted on October 26, predicted that Romney would win over 300 electoral votes. For him, this was a no brainer. He stated, "I believe then minimum result will be 53 to 47 Romney, over 300 electoral votes, and the Republicans will pick up the Senate. I base that on just years and years of experience."

Oops squared!

On November 1, Fox News contributor Michael Barone, gave the assessment that a hidden vote existed among independent voters that was going to skew the results in Romney's favor. In fact, he predicted a landslide for Romney.   And, according to Michael, he wasn't the only one with his viewpoint.

Oops ad nauseam.

On October 31, even the great pundit Dick Morris opined that it was a given, Romney will win a landslide.

Oops ad infinitus.

Um, it's now several days past the election and the outcome was nothing like what Fox News and their darling pundits foresaw. Not even within 2 standard deviations. How's that crystal ball working for ya, Fox?

SPLAIN, LUCY!
