Is That What It's All About?

You put your Right lies in
You take your Right lies out
You put more Right lies in and you jerk us all about
That's what they're all about!

Is this george bush's  "Hokey Pokey" approach to government?

After 9-11 they told us they were going to get  Ben Laden.
When that couldn't find him, they pulled our attention out of Afghanistan, and they jerked us all about.

Then they told us we must invade Iraq, because Saddam was planning a mushroom cloud, and sending it our way.
When it was determined there were no clouds, they pulled our attention away from mushrooms, and they jerked us all about.

Then they told us that the UN would assist in this war with Iraq.
When the UN refused, they pulled our attention away from UN help, and they  jerked us all about.

Then they told us that they had a coalition who would assist in the war with Iraq.
When  the coalition was revealed to be a very small group, they pulled our attention away from this coalition, and they jerked us all about.

Then they told us they had to get Saddam, because he had wmd and he was connected to 9-11.
When they couldn't find Saddam, or the wmd, or a connection to 9-11, they pulled our attention from Saddam, and they jerked us all about.

Then they told us that the war with Iraq had nothing to do with Iraqi oil.
When they couldn't hide the fact that the protection of the oil fields was their first concern, and pet corporations had been given no bid contracts, they pulled our attention away from that "not for oil" story, and they jerked us all about.

Then they told us that Saddam had done a magnificent  job of hiding the wmd.
When no signs of wmd could be found, they pulled our attention away from wmd, and they jerked us all about.

Then they told us the Iraqi people would be happy to see us and would welcome our troops.
When it became apparent that not all Iraqis were pleased to be invaded, they pulled our attention away from the "we'll be welcomed" story, and they jerked us all about.

Then they told us that, for all means and purposes, the war with Iraq was over.
When it became quiet evident that the war was not over, they decided to pull our attention away from the war, and they jerked us all about.

Then they told us that we must focus our  attention on the road map to peace.
When they couldn't find peace with the road map, they decided to pull our attention away from the road map, and they jerked us all about.

Then they told us that we should give  peace and freedom to the Iraqis.
When peace and freedom for Iraqi people became too difficult, they decided to pull our attention away from Iraq, and they jerked us all about.

Then they told us they were going to work on the U.S. economy.
When they realized what a disaster that was, they decided to pull our attention away from the economy, and they jerked us all about.

Then they told us that rebuilding Iraqi should be our first concern.
When it was revealed that rebuilding Iraqi was to be tightly intertwined with large American corporations, they decided to pull our attention away from Iraqi rebuilding, and they jerked us all about.

Then they told us that Iraq was becoming a peaceful place.
When more and more soldiers were getting killed, they decided to pull our attention away from a peaceful Iraq, and they jerked us all about.

Then they told us that the person who leaked the name of a CIA agent would be found.
When they determined that they didn't want to divulge who did this, they decided to pull our attention away from CIA agents, and they jerked us all about.

Then they told us that they were going to take positive measures to protect our environment.
When it was discovered that their plan would allow more pollutants into our air and water, they decided to pull our attention away from the environment, and they jerked us all about.

Then they told us that they were going to improve our educational system.
When  it was shown that they refused to fund these improvements, they decided to pull our attention away from education, and they jerked us all about.

Now they are telling us that george bush is a great leader and that we should elect him to a second term.
When they discover that we might not be willing to do that, will they decide to pull our attention away from the election, and will they jerk us all about?

Is that what it's all about?

I live in the wonderful state of Florida.

I am a mom to Murphy (my precious pup) and Fred (my occasionally precious cat).
I share my life, my laughter, my world and all of my love with my husband and have for 16 years.
I would describe myself as a very sentimental and sensitive person who is forever willing to share my point of view whether or not it has been requested of me.  This article is copyright by Patricia Ernest,  originally published by opednews.com Permission is granted to forward this or to place it on a website as long as the article is included intact, including this statement.  New!
