A Morphogenic Field/ Hundredth Monkey Internet Experiment for Kerry

by Sergio D. Caplan

OpEdNews.com

Having just finished Rupert Sheldrake's "Dogs That Know When Their Owners
Are Coming Home" I was quite intrigued by the theory of Morphogenic Fields
and created a small software program that I feel would make a great
experiment in Morphogenic Fields with this upcoming election.

In layman terms, the study of morphogenic fields is an attempt to
scientifically document and describe how the human consciousness is shared.
One of the best examples is "The Hundredth Monkey" By Ken Keyes Jr.  In
1952, on the island of Koshima, scientists were providing monkeys with sweet
potatoes dropped in the sand. While the monkeys liked the sweet potatoes,
they hated the taste of the sand.  One monkey found she could wash the
potato in a stream.  Soon other monkeys on the same island learned this
behavior from her.

But then this washing habit began occurring with other monkeys on other
islands.  So theory goes, that when a certain number achieves an awareness,
this new awareness may be communicated from mind to mind.   Hence the title,
the "100th Monkey".

After the first debate, which polls show that Kerry won by a wide margin,
his rating numbers surged tremendously!  Part of me wondered if perhaps the
"100th Human" began to see John Kerry in a much more positive light.  So I
created the software program "MakeWish" to run my own little "Morphogenic
Fields" experiment using the Presidential Election.

Once the software is installed it will come up on the user's screen at 10am,
1pm, 4pm.  All that comes up is a reminder window with a picture of Kerry &
Edwards, the total number of users running the software, and a simple text
reminder to take a moment and think a positive thought abut Kerry winning
this election.  At all other times the software does nothing.  Please note
that it installs no other software packages other than itself, comes with a
full install, and records nothing about the user or computer.  The software
is free, and no registration is required.

On my end I will be monitoring the number of users along with the freshest
poll number's that I can find, which I will then report via the software or
via my website AFTER the election.

For those John Kerry supporters out there, and those who are curious about
Morphogenic Fields, please accept my invitation and join me in this "social"
experiment.  You can download the software, as well as get more information
about it, at www.WarpTV.com/MakeWish.html.
