Do You Know Afghanistan?
President Obama says that he is still weeks away from a decision on Afghanistan--So call your Senators and Representative at the Congressional switchboard ((202) 224-3121), and call the Obama White House at (202) 456-1111, and let them know that the United States has wasted enough money on George W. Bush's misadventures in the Mideast. We have sacrificed enough lives. Enough is enough.

How Not to Reform Healthcare
(1 comments)
Most Americans know there is something wrong with our healthcare system, and it needs to be fixed. This past summer, a New York Times poll (6/21/09) found that nearly three-quarters of Americans favored “offering everyone a government administered health insurance plan like Medicare that would compete with private health insurance plans.” That is the kind of plan that Congress should be working toward.

Bush Torture Program Comes Back To Haunt America
(6 comments)
We musthold George W. Bush and his co-conspirators responsible for the crimes they have committed. Either the United States of America is a nation of laws, or it is not. Either it is a nation where no one is above the law; or it is a nation of the wealthy, by the wealthy, and for the wealthy--where the rest of us are allowed to shut-up and do what we are told.

Another Pandemic of Fear

The Bird Flu Pandemic was a no-show. Tthe Swine flu is failing to live up to the hype--but don't un-pucker your sphincters yet. It could still mutate into a killer pandemic and wipe out all humanity. Be afraid. Be very Afraid.

No More Dumb Wars!
What happened to young Senator from Illinois that spoke our against invading Iraq? Now--rather than ending Mr. Bush's dumb wars as quickly as possible, President Obama plans to escalate Bush's war on Afghanistan ("the graveyard of empires") and expand it into Pakistan. The cause may be just, but will sending more troops to Afghanistan accomplish any of his stated goals?

Steps in the Right Direction
We didn't get into our current mess overnight, and it cannot be fixed overnight; but President Obama is taking things a step at a time; and more importantly--he is taking steps in the right direction. Call your Senators and Representative (202-224-3121) and tell them to help President Obama take the next step.

Volunteers Needed For the War on Rich People
(3 comments)
It is time America started spreading the wealth around a little more fairly. How about jobs that pay a living wage? How about affordable healthcare? How about preventing companies from being able to make workers pension funds disappear, while their executives float away on golden parachutes?... It is time Congress started representing the rest of the American people--not just the richest two percent.

The Myth of Republican Fiscal Responsibility
(2 comments)
If you examine the numbers, you will find that Democratic Administrations have been better for the U.S. economy--even for business and stock investments. The only thing Republicans do better than Democrats is LIE. It is time to call them on it.

The Inauguration of Hope
(2 comments)
The American people have relegated the Republican party to minority status and elected Democrat Barack Obama to take the nation in a new direction. Now, we can wait and watch as the Republicans block the changes we want to see, and while the media shifts the blame for the failures of the Bush years onto President Obama--or we can get involved and help our new President make the changes America needs.

Some Unfinished Business with the Bush Administration
(4 comments)
The wheels of justice grind slow, but they grind exceedingly fine.
So, We must start the wheels of justice and allow them to grind Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Gonzales, et. al. into dust. Then, and only then, they can be swept into the dust-bin of history; and Americans can finally turn the page on this horrid period in American history and move forward to rebuild our nation on the solid foundation of Constitutional Law.

The Bush Legacy
(4 comments)
Did you know that none of America's problems was George W. Bush's fault? He just happened to be President when they occurred, and he handled them the best he could (and a darn fine job he did too--even if he had to say so himself). Bush disciples appear to believe that history will exonerate their fearless leader. It won't--unless we allow them to rewrite it.

John McCain Has Deserted the Military
(2 comments)
Too many veterans support John McCain for President, without knowing anything about his record on veteran issues. Obviously, they have been listening to what McCain says, instead of watching what he does....
Veterans should not vote for McCain just because he is a veteran--any more than senior citizens should vote for him because he is old. Check out his record. What you will find is a lying, two-faced hypocrite.

Condoleezza Rice--The Perfect Running Mate for McCain
(3 comments)
What more could Republican Presidential candidate John McCain ask for in a Vice President than Condi's pure, unadulterated, deaf, dumb and blind loyalty to the President and her ability to overlook mistake after mistake after mistake, without batting an eye? From what we have heard from Senator McCain on the campaign trail so far, he needs someone like Condi.

The Shame of Guantanamo is About to Get Worse.
The Bush Administration is planning a series of rigged show-trials at Guantanamo Prison in time for the November elections. The Time for Compromise is Over

The new Congress must not compromise with this President. That is enough compromise.

George W. Bush: Poster Boy for Impeachment

The impeachment of George W. Bush and his co-conspirators is a matter of principle that Congress can no longer ignore. The United States of America was founded on principles. If there was ever a President who needed to be impeached, it is George W. Bush.

It Is Time to Rebel Against King George
(9 comments)
The American people did their part in the 2006 election. They voted against the Bush Republicans, the Bush Wars, and the "unitary Presidency". What Are You Waiting For, Democrats?
The time for talk is over. Bush has turned a deaf ear to the voice of the American people, dismissed the recommendations of the Baker /Hamilton Commission; and is now ignoring the advice of our military leaders. George W. (6 comments)
This election is not about taking power from the Republicans and giving it to the Democrats. Vote to End Bush's War
Bush's decision to invade Iraq was not a mistake. It was a deliberate, premeditated attack on a third-world nation, designed to create "political capital" for George W. Bush. The decision to go to war may have been wrong and stupid and illegal; but it was not a mistake. The mistake is staying there any longer--sacrificing more American lives and squandering America's military capabilities.

Republicans Found Guilty of Domestic Abuse

Fear is not a new tactic, but it is a tried-and-true tactic.
"Our government has kept us in a perpetual state of fear-kept us in a continuous stampede of patriotic fervor-with the cry of grave national emergency. Let the Hearings Begin
George W. Bush may not be on the November 7th ballot, but this may be the most important election of his life. The Big Waste

Nobody knows how much the war in Iraq will eventually cost; but any way you add it up, it is a waste. All the war has meant to Americans is 2,529 dead soldiers and Marines (6/29/06), an over-extended military, higher gas prices, and an enormous debt to pass on to our children and grandchildren.

The question is not whether we should attack Iran or not. The question is how can we stop the Bush Administration before it starts its third war in 4 years. It will not be easy. George W.
