Headlined on 12/18/07:
Is Bush Sr. Admitting That His Son Screwed-Up America?

Tell A Friend

The story that’s buried on CNN’s Political Ticker, instead of on the front page is hard to believe if you read it carefully, and also the response from the Republican Committee:

Please note the areas in italics:

Bill Clinton: George H.W. Bush will help President Hillary

ORANGEBURG, South Carolina (CNN)
Former President Bill Clinton said Monday that the first thing his wife Hillary will do when she reaches the White House is dispatch him and his predecessor, President George H.W. Bush, on an around-the-world mission to repair the damage done to America’s reputation by the current president — Bush’s son, George W. Bush.

“Well, the first thing she intends to do, because you can do this without passing a bill, the first thing she intends to do is to send me and former President Bush and a number of other people around the world to tell them that America is open for business and cooperation again,” Clinton said in response to a question from a supporter about what his wife’s “number one priority” would be as president.

A spokesman for the George H.W. Bush was not immediately available to comment on whether the former president would chip in some diplomatic help after his son leaves office next year. MORE

If Bush Sr. is willing to go “on an around-the-world mission to repair the damage done to America’s reputation by the current president — Bush’s son, George W. Bush” the immediate conclusion drawn from that statement is that President Bush’s own father has admitted that his son’s administration, George W, Bush, has screwed-up America’s image so badly that it will take two ex-Presidents to act as diplomats in an attempt to rebuild our image.

It’s hard for me to believe what Bill Clinton stated, however when you read the Republican Committee’s response, it certainly isn’t a denial; in fact, it doesn’t say much at all:

UPDATE: The Republican National Committee issued this statement in response to Clinton’s comments:

“In 2009, a Republican president will be working with our friends and allies abroad to continue to keep our nation safe,” said RNC spokesman Danny Diaz. “The American people expect our leaders — both current and former — to present serious solutions to the very real challenges confronting our nation.”

– CNN South Carolina Producer Peter Hamby LINK

I wouldn’t have expected Bush Sr. to admit, albeit by innuendo, to say he was going out to repair his son’s errors, but something less stunning in nature. (Or did he say it? President Bush has to be looking very dimly upon the fact his own father has offered to go out into the world with Bill Clinton to “help repair the damage.”) Bill Clinton said it, and I’ll be curious to see how this one plays out in the coming days.

Bush Sr. refused to capture Husein based on advice from his advisor’s - that it would destabilize the entire Middle-East; he is said to have been the forging factor in James Baker re-entering the political landscape with the formation of The Iraq Study Group, and now Sr. is offering to help and repair the image to America and “repair the damage” because of the ??????? of his son? Would Clinton make such a political blunder that Sr. will have to publicly speak to spin what was said, or will it get tackier with Sr. asking for an apology, that he had agreed to no such thing? Or will he simply remain silent? (Which would be a tacit admission.)

Bush and Cheney see no damage, only the chance of more profit, greed, and power - and now it appears that Bush Sr., who I have to respect for agreeing to face so many we have wronged, in his own son’s name… To me, that’s shocking news and I believe it’s front page material and doesn’t belong buried in the Political Ticker. This signals that Bush Senior is predicting a Democratic win (IMO), he isn’t siding with the Republicans and instead is more interested in protecting our image - and his legacy, and whatever he can save (if any) of his sons tarnished service as President.

I am nothing more than a patriotic American that is doing whatever I can to further the cause of democracy, the rule of law, and am absolutely outraged on how the Bush administration is defying our Congress, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights! Footnote: I write in a style that I believe is appropriate in today's world where we can't trust the Mainstream News Media, and rather than concentrating on one article alone, which may or may not receive the exposure and emphasis it should, I prefer to meld several relevant stories together, that each taken alone may not expose the entire situation, but when taken-in as a whole, tend to give the reader a better understanding of the subject. One article or story alone does not represent the "Big Picture" - but when several are effectively tied-together it often reveals a trend or broader view of the subject matter that is important to completely understand any given situation. http://justanothercoverup.com/

Hi.  I'm 70 and tired of this crap!
joanakellyHi.  I'm 70 and tired of this crap!

"Is Bush Sr. Admitting That His Son Screwed-Up America?"

One can only hope that 41 has enough integrity to admit that he raised a monster.

We can hope - but - we can't count on it.  I mean, the guy married Barbara and their kid got his rocks off blowing up frogs with firecrackers and countries with RPGs.

I don't know about you but I'm praying - HARD!!!

Damage Control

The only way Clinton and Bush Sr. could repair the damage done to this nation's reputation with other countries would be to zoom around the world showing pictures of Jr. behind prison bars at Gitmo.

Bush Shoots-Down Hillary And Bill Clinton's Campaign Promise

When I read what Bill Clinton stated, there was no hint of a “suggestion” - and it was worded in a way that made the reader believe that Bill Clinton has already discussed this issue with Bush Sr.

Well, you know what they say, blood is thicker than water, and it appears that Bill Clinton has egg on his face as Bush Senior, probably under pressure from his son, President Bush, released this statement:

Elder Bush nixes Clinton trip idea

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Former President George H.W. Bush has shot down his successor Bill Clinton’s idea of a diplomatic mission under a Hillary Clinton presidency that would send him and other notables abroad to assure other nations that “America is open for business and cooperation again.”

The move came one day after Bill Clinton made the suggestion on the campaign trail in South Carolina, in response to a question from a supporter about his wife’s “number-one priority” upon reaching the White House.

In a statement sent to CNN Tuesday afternoon, former President Bush’s chief of staff Jean Becker said that he “wholeheartedly supports the President of the United States, including his foreign policy. He has never discussed an ‘around-the-world-mission’ with either former President Bill Clinton or Sen. Clinton, nor does he think such a mission is warranted since he is proud of the role America continues to play around the world as the beacon of hope for freedom and democracy. MORE

Some of us had our hopes up that the elder Bush would place country in front of family, but as usual, it appears the “Bush Crime Family” is still a term that is relative and politically correct as we watch our country’s economy dying, as are our soldiers, and the one man that might have helped to energize a nation decided that tyranny and shredding the constitution was a better choice than embarrassing his son, a President that will forever make Bush a four-letter word, and it begins with the letter “F”.

William Cormier

NOTE: After reading the comments on CNN’s Political Ticker, many people are outraged that Bill Clinton made that remark without the elder Bush’s actual agreement; I’m not jumping to conclusions yet, as this could have been a well thought-out strategy, and when it comes to attempting to keep a Republican majority and protect his son, this could have been one of the smoothest moves of the Bush Crime Family - promise one thing and then deny it, making the Clinton’s look like liars and fools. Let’s see how Bill Clinton responds; I don’t believe this is over yet! I don’t put anything past the Bush family, but one thing is certain - there won’t be that coziness between the elder Bush and the Clinton’s anymore, and now we may see the gloves taken-off as this Presidential campaign heats up. My bet is that Clinton won’t take this lying down, but again, we will have to wait and see.

Bush Sr. A Fake Hip War Hero, Go Jump out of a plane.

Bush Sr. isn't about to discredit Junior any time soon.  I for one believe Bush Sr. the CIA chief has a role in 911 with the Call and Put options bet that was placed before that great tragedy. People fooling around with Sr being mad at son is political jargon. They are of the same breed if you will. Bullets make better friends should I say dead ones, that don't bother their ambitions.

Fear and intimidation are their coat of arms, weapons and murder their staple of life. They call their view politics while the rest of the World knows it is a Crime Organization. People bend over and submit for the fear of our lives, and the lives of others . We don't love Bush we loathe the SOB. We associate the USA to Bush so we loathe the USA.

I will never do business there again. In fact my campaign is to convince Governements, people and friends to stay away from the USA. Isolate them, and sanction them. If they want war, then kill us for our resources and profits. We know who you are, we know you are liars, we know all the smooth soft gentler and kinder nation bullcrap Bush has to offer.

I have lived in the USA long enough to realize that those skull bone knuckle heads are not worth all the Walmarts in China. They have done nothing for me, except agony, heartache, worries,  and outright fear of living. They made me to know how to hate. And I hate them. LET ME REPEAT>>>>I HATE THEM.

I do wish people would wake UP!

America is now $4 trillion dollars in debt.  There is no bailing this current financial mess out.

It goes STRAIGHT BACK to George HW BUZH, it was continued throughout and William Jefferson ROCKEFELLER Clinton kept up the facade that all was well in Denmark, as Americans spent and spent and spent, while mortages in the US gave a false sense of security and taught people to debt, and debt and debt.   A balanced budget - forget it!  There was NO balanced budget, just well concealed DEBT.  Printing ever more money is no solution and even doing away with the Federal Reserve Bank is not the answer; sound money is the answer (so forget Ron Paul, the over simplifier).

There won't be ANYONE going around the world apologizing for Dubya; the whole gang of criminals is detested by the world and when the financial dust settles (and it will), the US is forced out of Europe as the EU doesn't want it there, the military bases are shut down due to lack of funds, the jets run out of fuel, it won't be DIPLOMACY and APOLOGIES being handed out, it will be hats in hands.

People can sit around playing politics of BuZh bashing for just a bit longer and play armchair generals just a bit longer, but the devasting affects of the Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton are going ot be one long, dreary, war filled excess after another until there is absolutely NOTHING LEFT.

Don't take my word on this if you don't want to- just read the Financial Times, the IHT .. it's all THERE.

Dr. Michael Hudson, Kucinich's top economic adviser DOES get it, though.

BuZh Senior is admitting NOTHING except that even as a FOSSIL, he still wants TOTAL CONTROL.  Nothing less.  Clinton is his REAL Boy and save Jeb being trotted out as none of the candiditos in the rePUG camp is worth a nickel, Billy is his pick.

God help us all.  He is a war criminal also, he eroded every bit as many civil liberties and he disgraced America for eight long years.

Time for new leadership, from top to bottom.  People who want a return to the RULE OF LAW and a vision for America - not globetrotting for the (Operation Mockingbird) snoozemedia personality parties.

I am a retired opera singer. I was a leading soprano with the New York City Opera for ten years. I am a strong supporter of Dennis Kucinich and worked for his campaign in 2004. I believe that he is the ONLY honest man in congress. He has been working against this insane war since before it began. I am 72 years old and I have been so frustrated with the media, the Congress and the American people that they don't tell the truth.

The criminals admitting the crimes? HAH!

Bush JR is just a chip off the old block. and what made Bill Clinton think that Sr would go along with the idea of a trip around the world making peace? Nothing. He can't help himself from mouthing off when he's in front of an audience.

If we want to fix our image in the world, we had better elect Kucinich and forget the clones that, according to the MSM whores, are the 3 leading candidates. Kucinich understands the issues and is not beholden to anyone except the people, you know, you and me. Why can't the people in America understand that?

We must call upon the media to tell the truth about the issues and what they mean to the American people. Only Dennis proposes a not for profit health care plan (Medicare for All), only Dennis will dump NAFTA so the the working people in this country have chance to make a decent wage; only Dennis will end the war and bring our young men and women home where they belong; only Dennis had the courage to introduce a bill to impeach Cheney, the evil force behind the other evil force.

We have to spead the word that with Dennis Kucinich in the White House we have the chance to rebuild our country and mend fences with the rest of the world.

How do you forgive a monster...?

Any country wanting to repair and heal America's image within their countries would need to forgive Bush for his atrocities.  No way....

They have far more to gain by being anti-American and maintaining that attitude for a very, very long time.  Corporatism has to have its limits, and Bush is it.

Is Bush Sr. Admitting That His Son Screwed-Up America?"

Which is to say as long as we  keep the same  crime family in power they will show a lighter side of their iron fist.

IT is high time Americans decide wether they want the constitution  or not

the only way your going to  mend the constitution is with Ron Paul

electing  the same crime family to  fix the problems of  one of it's members  is like asking  al capone to  help out the victims of one of his men

Clinton should have known better

I'm sorry, William, but you've based your entire article about Bush Sr.'s plans and attitudes on a statement by Bill Clinton. And more specifically on Bill Clinton's choices of words. Things written about what Bush Sr. had to say or what he thinks or what he has agreed to have no foundation.

Then in the comments, you bring Bush's disclaimer to light and use that as some sort of reflection on the former president. Actually, Clinton's comment forced his hand. It was a foolish comment by Clinton and left no room for Bush Sr. to do anything else. Ironically (and sadly), even if Bush had privately agreed to any such mission with Clinton, by making those comments, Clinton has left Bush Sr. no room to wiggle.

I think Clinton is smarter than that, so personally I suspect he did it on purpose. Whatever his reasons, it may backfire.
