In a union, they're called scabs.

In a dysfunctional family, they're called enablers.

The core tragedy of America (and the world) is that deadbeats far outnumber progressives, independents, and moderates.

They are the rotten core of the now poisonous American apple. The illusion is that elite fascists are powerful because of their strength and cleverness. Utterly false! The reality is that they are default powerful because of scabs, enablers, and deadbeats.

The deadbeats don't give a shit about anything except their booze, sitcoms, and rationalizations. And boy do they ever have rationalizations. They feel no responsibility about ANYTHING. They're really secret psychopaths -- conscienceless, criminally stupid, and the exact opposite of our founding fathers.

To extend the term, the deadbeats are also (and always have been) the "dead weight" of civilization. Hitler would have been stopped in his tracks had it not been for millions of deadbeat Germans. Of course, not all Germans were oblivious to the insanity and horror of Nazism, but they were outnumbered by their Duh-souled neighbors, so Hitler just followed the line of least resistance (i.e., through the front rooms of the German enablers), and the 3rd Reich was born.

Bush has been (and still is) doing EXACTLY the same thing. His royal road to Bush/Hitlerdom is through the front rooms of most of our neighbors and relatives, i.e., pseudo human beings. When you talk to them (which mostly means listening to them), you hear about sports, barking dogs, religious babble, but mostly you hear about TV sitcoms, since this is their primary reality. They aren't couch potatoes. They are TV androids. That screen IS their reality.

New Orleans? Global warming? Tax breaks for billionaires? Such things have NOTHING to do with their insect reality. What counts is their slug existence which is infinitely indifferent to the "real world" (yes, there really is one), and worldly suffering which would break the heart of a God, and our ballistic race for species extinction.

These are "fast food" people. They have no future (except the rest of tonight's television). They are not only indifferent to the future of humanity; they are equally indifferent to the future of their children.

Eventually in life, we have to come to terms with might have seemed embarrassing in childhood, and that is the human distinction between stupidity and intelligence. Call it IQ if you wish, the classification isn't important. What IS important is some of us respond to the challenge of life from our intelligence. Intelligence is real. In a way, it's the self awareness of nature, the cutting edge of evolution. So if your life is grounded in intelligence, that's where you live. You see reality process point blank.

As opposed to what? Who else, the enablers and deadbeats who seem to exhaust their cerebrum (which they rarely access) with movies and baseball and cokes. Psychologically put, they got "fixated" in grade school and that still rules their existence. They are the so called "adult children" (but without the magical grace of true children) -- Just whiny sludge-minded escapists.

OK. So what to do, since these pseudo humans are the bedrock of human existence. Certainly, there are individual and cultural exceptions, but the core functioning of the human race is grounded in deadbeats. And from deadbeats come vampire elites and from vampire elites come a militant police state and from a militant police state comes the transformation of humanity into terrified and obedient cattle.

The one thing we must be diamond clear about in all of this is that fascist elites are of gift of the deadbeats to the human adventure. Its so, so simple. No deadbeats, no fascists. Just humans doing our best to rise to the challenge of the infinitely subtle and complex reality/universe.

We've been called children of the universe. Can't beat that, but are Homo sapiens finally going down for the third time from the weight of the deadbeats?

You know what? If we do, they won't even know it.

But we will . . . and do?

I roll my eyes at those that accuse others being oppressed while the US has and still continues to the same and much worse. Laughing at pinheads who purchase and profit from those they curse.

I have a sister-in-law who is a

set design painter for 2 soap operas in New York City. She has told me that viewers of the show will write to the actors and actresses, informing them of the plots going on behind their backs.

It irk's me to know I have family and friends who voted for Bu$h, wanting to mainly pay lower "Taxes", and don't think 9/11- Afghanistan-Iraq-Soon to add Iran "War of Terror", falling $, sub-prime heist have any pre-written script in Bu$h & Co's agenda. And gladly willing to give up their "Freedom's" to be safe in knowing their local mall or gas station won't become a "Terrorist" target.

What will they be thinking, after Martial Law is enacted and are on the inside of a FEMA camp waiting to be either RFID "Chipped" or have the honor of receiving euthanasia for the greater glory of the NWO.

Don't be arrogant: there are NO OTHER PEOPLE

Since Erasmus there were efforts to ' make new people' and those ALL falied and in blood too. THERE ARE NO OTHER PEOPLE. The advantage of the knowledge, analysis, systemic thinking makes you just MORE RESPONSIBLE; IT DOES NOT MAKE YOU BETTER OR HAPPIER. Moreover, IT IS HELL! So enaablers, who avoid HELL of thinking can be much happier than those who KNOW. But the enablers cannot have a feeling of pride of thinking, feeling that you are really smart and that you see far. No, they cannot have that.

Don't be arrogant. People are the same and the world does not want to be saved. It wants to be left alone. The deadbeats? Let me tell you something: the luxury of having a brain free enough from the everyday misery to appreciaate life is EXTREMELY RARE! We are a privileged few: others just are too tired. They bury themselves in boose, coke and soap operas? Well, I have been an engineer for 30 years now and I tell you: after the 12- hour shift in the machine shop NO ONE can think ANYTHING!

Covet your knowledge, use it wisely and sparingly, share but do not pour, listen more, go back an forth and serve your predestination as one old Russian sonf says. It also says;

- As soon as the skies are clear....

Maybe this is why we were warned not to eat from "the tree of knowledge"? Perhaps being a happy-idiot was God's plan all along? If this is all true than God's themselves must be insane.

I don't know what it is that compels some to seek and others too not, fear perhaps. But once you pick the fruit of knowledge there is no turning back and I know not whether it's a blessing or a curse. Those that are unknowing seen happy in their state of ignorant bliss and those that are aware seem less so, but this is now, after living several generations in a relative fantasyland existence. We'll see what happens when this fantasyland comes crashing down just how happy these so-called deadbeats are then. For there is another song-writer/poet who prophesied, Gil-Scott Heron: "The Revolution will not be televised."

It kinda reminds me of being in the world of Islam, been working here for 18 years..........there's really nothing wrong with the religion, you can live a righteous life by it......if you can interpret it and apply to 21st century life styles..........the problem is so very few can even read the Book...........Some well educated and wealthy leaders know exactly what you are saying and that becomes their philosophy behind mind control and the success of fascism...........Same as the success of the Taliban.....

Bill I addressed this problem in an article not long ago. When I was in school you had to pass a Bar exam like test on government.

I studied Critical analysis in His Soc. Class with The brilliant Oscar Shabbat at Wright College. He later became the first Chancellor of City Colleges of Chicago.

To my knowledge, they teach neither any longer. What needs be done will never be done. The reason we do have the Electoral College is that the Founding Fathers did not think that many people were mature or smart enough the directly elect the proper people. They were proven correct, so the popular vote idea might just never elect the right people.

We need first to be rid of lobbying.

We need then to nationalize most corporations-those which now deliver necessities of life.

We need to cut CEO Compensation to a max of $2.5 Mil. At WWII, CEO's made 25 times employees average salary, not they make 550-1100 times that. That sort of disparity leads to Royalism. Elections need to be financed by the gov. cutting out Special Interests.

The War Powers Act needs to be junked and NO war is to be entered into without 67% ratification of congress.

Voters need to pass standard tests on Government and MUST know facts. When a politician Lies that needs to be printed while he speaks over his face on TV.

The media must not be ever in the control of The Military Medical Industrial Complex. Therefore, it must be like a nation treasure-university-A non-profit teaching and truth machine. We need not impeachment but dueling and Government sponsored politically motivated Class action Lawsuit attorneys as a separate branch of the gov. which only purpose is to sue High Government officers.

The courts need to be freed of the imposition of popular movements. They must do only justice and the whining of victims and perpetrators should have no place in a court or influence in a trial.

America needs to remove all injustices: Abortion, Torture, Preemptive war, heavily armed police, brutality, and more, need to go.

We need to give intelligence tests to would be voters and to those running for office and announce the results of those running for office. I estimate that about 40% of our present voters should not have the vote.

Sunday morning

It's Sunday morning here and, as per usual, I was enriched by the responses to my piece. Even the different takes on things were helpful. It's always win/win when adults communicate together from their adulthood and not their "anti adulthood" (if I can coin a turn of phrase), i.,e., neurosis, stupidity, and greed. WITHOUT all that fear of life gorp (for that's what it is in essence), we live in a win/win world.

it's not against the law to denounce scabs and enablers

Most of us know the role played by enablers in dysfunctional families and scabs in worker unions.

I won't insult my readers by pointing out that these are the "bad guys" (and/or "gals"). They keep the rottonness going by thier passivity and cowardice. EXAMPLE: Nancy Pelosi and all species of religious fanatics.

Samo, samo for the scabs and enablers who are the dead weight of all companies, religions, and nations.

It isn't complicated. Or rather, it's complicated only for scabs and enablers.

They are "what's going on behind the scences" of dysfunctional systems. What we see up front are the fascist elites, but they are the scum, merely, on an ocean of scabs and enablers.

In short, they are getting away with literal murder and AT LEAST we should publically hold them to account.

This isn't being "superior", it's being non stupid and authetically patriotic. It's also seeing the BEDROCK of social existence (alas), since enablers and scab types are what civilization has always had to work around.

Deadbeats are suckers, sinners, and weaklings like us.

Turn your anger into hatred. Don't try to persuade or convert. Just speak the truth in any way you can. When you "speak truth to power" remember that the deadbeats are far more powerful (as a group) than any number of crooks. Frank and honest indignation at getting hustled is worth a ton of liberal programs. Afflict them when they are comfortable and comfort them when the are afflcted (if you can stand to). Rev. Wright spoke in the tradition of the prophets with a thorough contempt for the suckers of this world.

ps I totally agree that we all have that deadbeat and sinner element, but don't you agree that the challenge of life is to transcend all that slop and fulfull our God given (this, of couse, can be said differently) potential. Deabeats have EXACTLY the same shot at that as we do, but they utterly betray it. Intelligence/stupidity factors into this too, but now things are getting too complicated for a response. I still like your advice.

Deadbeats and enablers?

In the course of life we all interact with many people. As a practical matter, I rarely meet anyone who I could fairly call stupid. Mostly what I see is a bunch of people forced by our economic system to expend unfairly large portions of their life working in less than rewarding jobs, plagued by alcholism or drug addiction, caring for sick relatives with little or no support from society, and trying desperately to ensure that they themselves don't wind up in the same position. That they choose intellectually dishonest politcal positions is no surprise; the available energy they have mandates minimum effort be expended on political decisions, and they aren't exactly given readily available sources of reliable information.

The people that I do meet who fall into the enabler category are really serious supporters of Cheney/Bush. I could call them stupid, but what I think about most of them is that they are wilfully ignorant rather than stupid. They are arrogant, bigoted, violent, almost invariably white, people who can't tolerate any instability, and can easily be made afraid of straw enemies. Political discourse that involves struggling with the idea that the system they support is inherently unstable is too threatening. Better to support the false hope of security through violence, a medium they have been conditioned to understand and support.

My biggest fear is that coming generations of children will fall into exactly the mold you decribe. Raised in a culture of vapid discourse, their education deliberately dumbed down by various means, they will fall easily into the intellectual vaccuum.

Fascists play political hardball

and focus their efforts on achieving political power, ordinary people don't.

Its not necessary the citizens in democracies be deatbeats its enough that they are divided and don't get organised to provide effective resistance. And the reason they don't get organised is that are paying attention to living their individual lives not pursuing power.

The answer to your question what do we do depends on who we is. Fascists are willing to use force and aren't moved by intellectual arguments about the greatest good for the greatest number, they are about will to power.

German fascism did not surrender to a better reasoned argument, it took superior force from outside the country where the people weren't bribed or sufficiently divided by intimidation, probably, neither will American fascism.

I spend 50/70 hours a week reading. I ride a scooter as my preferred transport. Politically I think the center is more right than not. I think that the job of the fanatics, both right and left is to try and pull the center there way. I pull to the right. To sum up, I think Bush is doing great.

Responsibility is a variable, not a constant. There are many reasons for not being a progressive activist, many of which are the understanable and tragic result of victimization. However, millions and millions of human beings out there are fully functional, but lazy, cowardly, and irresponsible. Not to know this (and to even criticize those who note this obvious fact) is to be just another enabler. And while we're speaking of pictures, you might want to replace your "holy card" one. All that's missing is Saint X.

Lets just get to the point. Most people are deadbeats and enablers because the indoctrination works. Through religion and education,if you can call it that, we have been trained to think in a totally irrational way. To see everything as separate. To think that you create your own reality. To think that facts, reality and truth are in the eye of the beholder. This makes it all so very easy for us to ignore, disregard or make justifications for things that are bad or make us uncomfortable. Just ignore them if they don't effect me and mine. At this point is there anything that can break through this indoctrination? I will be damned if I have found anything that can. Face it any of us that can actually think are doomed to go through the hell to come with everyone else.
