Congratulations on your spectacular victory in the primary battle against one of the most powerful political machines, the Clintons. Your campaign reflects the attitude of most Americans about true change in American government and politics. It is very likely that you will be our next President if you remain true to your principals which is the very reason that you got the nomination.
Now that you are moving into the next phase of your campaign, I strongly advise you to use the same strategy in the national election. There is no reason for you to move to any arbitrary perception of the so-called "center." It is a myth created by the media along with the help of the Republican Party. The only responsibility you have in this campaign is to speak the truth as you see it as passionately as you have in the past. If you compromise those principals and say things that you do not really support, you will lose the grass roots supports that you desperately need to win in November. I believe that sincerity will circumvent any political attacks that you may get.
Truth is an absolute defense to anything that you do in life. It is very difficult to advance a cause that one does not have unconditional belief. That has been the problem with the other failed Presidential candidates. If history has taught us anything about Presidential politics it is that the move to the so-called "center" is a prescription for failure no matter who is the messenger.
When you become the President-elect, I strongly advise you to look beyond your campaign advisors, elected officials, and old guard Democrats as potential cabinet appointments. Running the government is serious business and appointments other than ambassadors should be awarded to the most capable people including fresh young faces. Modern Presidents do not have all the requisite skills to oversee all aspects of government. As we have painfully experienced in the last 7+ years, political appointments of cronies is a ticket to disaster. The 9/11 attack was completely avoidable if the August 2001 PDB was communicated properly to the President by Condoleza Rice, Bush's NSA. Had they warned the airlines and our air defense group of the Bin Ladin threat, these attacks would have been intercepted in advance. The Katrina disaster is another example of a disaster that could have been avoided with competent cabinet appointments.
I wish you the best of luck in the upcoming campaign and will be available at your pleasure for any help or advice.
Very truly yours,

I concur. Congratulations on being the Media's pick for the Democratic nominee to be our next President. I wholeheartedly agree with this writer's ideas. Coming from the co-founder of one of America's greatest radio success stories - Air America, that advice is money in the bank. In fact, the rating Air America have earned shows just how much America truly wants to embrace openly socialistic and liberal ideas. I mean what parent does not want their daughter to get an abortion without their right to know? What person does not want to be taxed into oblivion to where he has to rely on the state for his sustenance. Please, Mr. Obama, run as the Socialist you are. Please do not hide your Communist mentor or the Communist terrorists who are suck close friends to you. Running as an open socialist would be a refreshing change instead of fooling the American people by pretending to run in the center as Socialist parties D and R do.
Again, I agree this is great advice and if you lose the election, do not worry. McCain will promote the same socialist liberal agenda that you would. As for me, I am voting for gridlock because the only protection I have to this Republic is for a paralyzed government.

Socialism is about taxing the rich, not the poor !!
First of all you twist political ideologies. you don't understand what socialism is, and what capitalism is. Let me give you a basic course on socialism.
Socialism= A system of government where corporations are owned socially (by the state, by citizens and by workers, thru a workers-control system of production
Capitalism= a system of government where corporations are owned by private firms, are privately owned.
Taxing itself is not socialist, however, a socialdemocrat would tax the rich, and not the middle and lower classes.
And in any case, socialism is good, and capitalism is bad. Capitalism concentrates wealth in a few, and socialism brings democracy to all.
Mccain is not socialist, i dont know where did you get that from?
The main points of capitalism include:
THE RULE OF THE MARKET. Liberating "free" enterprise or private enterprise from any bonds imposed by the government (the state) no matter how much social damage this causes. Greater openness to international trade and investment, as in NAFTA. Reduce wages by de-unionizing workers and eliminating workers' rights that had been won over many years of struggle. No more price controls. All in all, total freedom of movement for capital, goods and services. To convince us this is good for us, they say "an unregulated market is the best way to increase economic growth, which will ultimately benefit everyone." It's like Reagan's "supply-side" and "trickle-down" economics -- but somehow the wealth didn't trickle down very much.
CUTTING PUBLIC EXPENDITURE FOR SOCIAL SERVICES like education and health care.
REDUCING THE SAFETY-NET FOR THE POOR, and even maintenance of roads, bridges, water supply -- again in the name of reducing government's role. Of course, they don't oppose government subsidies and tax benefits for business.DEREGULATION. Reduce government regulation of everything that could diminsh profits, including protecting the environmentand safety on the job.
PRIVATIZATION. Sell state-owned enterprises, goods and services to private investors. This includes banks, key industries, railroads, toll highways, electricity, schools, hospitals and even fresh water. Although usually done in the name of greater efficiency, which is often needed, privatization has mainly had the effect of concentrating wealth even more in a few hands and making the public pay even more for its needs.
ELIMINATING THE CONCEPT OF "THE PUBLIC GOOD" or "COMMUNITY" and replacing it with "individual responsibility." Pressuring the poorest people in a society to find solutions to their lack of health care, education and social security all by themselves -- then blaming them, if they fail, as "lazy."Around the world, neo-liberalism has been imposed by powerful financial institutions like the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank.

Socialism, Capitalism, and Communism are not systems of government. They are economic systems differing mainly in the amount of government control that is applied to each. A Communist economy is fully controlled and centrally directed by the government of a nation that uses it, Socialism is less so, although with considerable government control in place, and Capitalism is generally the economic system with the least government control.
There are no pure forms of any of these economic systems extant in the world today, and I don't suppose that it would even be possible to have them in their pure form. Instead, there is a continuum across the spectrum of these forms, where any particular nation or society can be assigned a place on the continuum.
There are relative advantages and disadvantages to each of these economic systems, and more or less government control is required by each to mitigate the disadvantages while availing the society of the advantages of each particular system.
The politically right leaning commenters in this thread must understand that if they are proponents of a zero government control Capitalist system of economics, that it is only possible where anarchy is the government system and it is truly a situation where every man is for himself.

Avoided the Katrina disaster with the proper cabinet level appointments? Wow. Appoint a Democrat and no more Category 5 hurricanes will hit near New Orleans. Sounds good but just a little far out.
Political reality: Senator Obama is losing masses of lower income DEMOCRATS in his primary races with Senator Clinton. You can call these lower income DEMOCRATS racists, keep promoting the usual way-out leftist agenda, and act as elitist as possible and lose them and the lower income Republicans and Independents in the general election if you haven't already lost them. Or you moderate your stands and speech so you do not lose them. Which path to you think a political hack raised politically in Chicago will take? Senator Obama will need every last one of those lower income votes, especially the Democratic ones. If he relies only on the well-educated, upper income, and black Democrats, he loses.

Hillary gets money from drug-smuggler Jorge Cabrera, AIPAC
You can label Obama whatever you want, but doesn't kneel down to the Jewish Zi0nist Lobby, is not willing to wage more wars on behalf of Israel and he is not corrupt as hell like the Clinton Dynasty, who played all kinds of dirty tricks while in the white house, just lik the Bushes

LincolnMark .. please. pray tell, where has socialism worked on a large scale for the long term? Socialism involved giving all the power to a state that the people are dependent on. Its an extreme twist of any kind of logic to say that community responsibility provides more freedom than personal responsibility.

That is a huge stretch. Anarchy is the philosophical end of communism not capitalism. Government does have a role in capitalism and that role is to protect the rights of its people.
